About to install this and stingers spare tire backup cam into my 2016 jk this wkd. As it’s laid out here, will the camera automatically come on screen when I put the Jeep in reverse or do I need to tap the reverse wire into the camera trigger wire?
As long as your JK has an automatic transmission the interface picks up that signal on the CAN network and the trigger is sent to the HEIGH10. If it is manual transmission, You will need to tap the white/gray wire that goes down the passenger side to the reverse lights, and tie that to the HEIGH10's purple/white reverse trigger in the main 16 pin power connector.
So a quick question to anyone that has this radio I just purchased a 2017 jeep and it has this radio but the camera flashes off and on saying signal loss. Anyone have this issue and can the radio be taken out without breaking it? Thanks.
Will this kit work on a 2014 Rubicon JKU with the Factory-Upgraded Premium Navi System? I’m troubleshooting an M13 parasitic draw problem and kinda hoping it’s my Navi/amp system. No. Seriously. LOL Please advise …
How long would you say the USB replacement wiring is? I have heated seats wired to the cigarette lighter and can’t use this location to mount the USB so I’ll need to relocate it.
The SSUSB2 that is included with the kit is 4ft in length. We wouldn't recommend going much longer than that with the USB length, just to avoid possible issues with data transfer rate when using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto thru the port.
I just had the Heigh10 installed this weekend and have a 2016 JK with the factory OEM Alpine system. Is there anyway to confirm if the installer connected it to the amplifier correctly? Also, any EQ setting you would suggest?
The harness is plug and play, so if you have audio in all sources and when on Bluetooth calls, it is correctly connected. The factory amplifier only has 2 channels of input, so while all speakers will play, you will not have fader control with this or any aftermarket radio.
This unit looks fantastic. I hate mystery rattles. There seems to be an abundance of extra cables pushed in behind; anyone have any issues with rattling, tapping, etc.? Thanks
If there are harnesses you don't need you can leave them out of the dash. Also using zip ties to keep all the wiring together is an option. We haven't received complaints of rattles with the kit or the wiring.
You don't need to worry about that plug because all of your speakers are running off the aftermarket amplifier. That plug is for installing to the factory amplified system.
