Today on JD Cars, we’re installing a 10 inch Apple CarPlay compatible touchscreen in a 2014 Jeep Wrangler! This screen is compatible with Jeep Wranglers 2011-2014. We had just installed a smaller 6.2 inch screen but it wasn’t compatible with CarPaly so we decided to swap it out for this beast! Overall, an easier installation than I had expected. Anyone should feel confident doing this job at home with minimal hand tools. Please view the end of the video for my thoughts on the unit after a few days of testing it out!

I just bought the exact same radio. It just got delivered and I've been watching videos on how to install. This is by far the best.
I think I'm going to order new clips for the dash.
Also, I have a cell phone mount tray on top that I'm going to have to figure out how to modify the one that came with this unit two accommodate the Mount.
Is the one in the video by awesafe? Not sure if his link is the same one?
This video also convinced me to purchase the awesafe unit. I'm having issues with strong echo reported on the other end when making/receiving phone calls. Any one else have this problem and have some advice?

I bought the one linked in your description. It was easy, but I'm having an issue with the backup cam also. I couldn't find any troubleshooting info. Are there some hidden camera settings?
Solid video, did it come with a backup camera? How is the quality of the mic for the bluetooth?
Have same color jeep and orange accents too just picked this stereo up for 50$ believe it or not on the market place so excited to install this video helped alot also the 2 wires you didn't connect off the harness what did they do

For the backup camera it will not work unless the jeep is programmed at the dealer or you have to buy the programming harness with one time license to make it work. Luckily mine was programmed before.
Great install Vid JD! Just currious, I prchased the latest version, 6 ram, for my jeep patriot. Looks like i have same steering wheel as you, volume and seek buttons on the back. MIne has the 9 speaker factory Boston Acustics Sound system with Factory Amp. Im just curious, is your Jeep equipted with the same or similar? I havent seen an install video yet where the poster mentions what there origional equipment is. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

I bought the same unit because I first bought a Hikitty but the display was so dark, I could barley see the boot screen. I returned it thinking it was defective. So I got this system and same thing!! Does anyone know how to fix this? It is like the display brightness is at the lowest setting.

I just facing the same issue with backup camera, turns out need connect red cable from backup camera to pink cable in head unit.
were you able to get the factory satellite radio to work? i cannot see a place to plug in the factory satellite cable

Since this video they have changes along of the settings like the logo change....also I added the USB ports and instead charging the phone it drains the battery

I have an '09 Rubicon with the UConnect head unit. The '09 doesn't have steering wheel controls. Do they have a kit to fit the earlier model? Also, does it replace all the other UConnect integrations for radio, phone, and Sirus/XM?
I'm not certain about retaining all of your UConnect features, but I did find this touchscreen compatible with your 2009: bit.ly/3raFyja

Anyone else getting GPS error with Iphone? Mine keeps my location set to somewhere else and I have to reset my 3D calibration to reset it, only works for two days then resets.

2013 JK Struggling with touch screen plastic snapping into dash piece? Removed vents, ordered new clips, have not received. They did make improvements, CarPlay now included, screen comes attached. Plugged it in, electronics look and work great, very happy with 10" touch screen. Any suggestions appreciated. On the bright side, I can now remove and install a JK dash in less than 60 seconds. I am hoping new clips will secure & align everything. Otherwise send back and try one that uses the OEM 4 screws. Appears same 10" head unit with different mount?

My I-phone connects through wireless. Why would I need the additional connector? Also I am unable to download my Jeep logo is this connector the only was to get the apx file?
I have almost the same unit. Mine came with all the same dash pieces but my head unit came mounted in the dash trim and I have different android software. Mine came with wireless apple CarPlay, no dongle needed which is why I chose this one. I too, as well can not get the backup camera to turn on automatically when I put my manual shift transmission into reverse. If you find a fix for that please let me know. But great detailed install and overview video 👍🏼

@@noboundaries8981 i got a notification asking about the fix. idk if it was you or not. Well anyways. so the dongle that connects to the camera, i believe it's yellow, it has a red cable attached to it. the red cable is for an electric signal in case the car is manual. the signal needs to come from the reverse lights. In the video I shared around minute 10, he shows how to strip a little of the reverse lights cable to connect it to the yellow dongle. Let me know if this helps
@@silosmauricio yes I FINALLY found the correct “trigger” wire for the backup camera. On mine it is a pink wire that you have to tap into. And it actually has the backup guide lines that turn when you turn the steering wheel. Pretty cool and was unexpected. It also shows a image if you have proximity sensors hooked up, it will let you know when you are getting too close to something. Unfortunately I don’t have those sensors

Aux cord has to be pushed in all the way wiggled gently and backed out 1/16” whilst wiggling. If that works you can never touch the cord again. Getting CarPlay

Tried to install and the left piece doesn't even go in. Based on some of the reviews, I believe I was sent the wrong piece. Hopefully that company gets back to me.

Thanks! The fenders are EAG-- a brand we no longer endorse. Their powdercoat is junk and flakes off in a year. We had to fully strip and repaint these flares.
