After years and years and a couple more years, I FINALLY bought a Jeep Wrangler!!!!! Super excited, subbed and been watching your vids. Hoping this will be my first mod. Never done anything to a vehicle before, but you simplify things greatly so i'm hoping to be good with this.

Thx for doing a video on this awesome head unit! After we watched this video we decided to give it a try. It's been about 2 or 3 weeks we've had the unit in our Wrangler and we love it!!! We use android on a daily basis anyway so we really enjoyed having our fav apps available at anytime. Works amazing with our OBDII and Tourque app. Works with Waze too! We love that we have connection to wifi everywhere and makes it so easy to listen to our library of 5000 songs via Google play music! Couldn't ask for an easier instill as well. Coming with 0 instructions is def a downfall however we just watched your video while installing and it was a breeze. The sound is 10x better then our factory head unit. We also have a sub which is just amazing now! It's like this head unit was just what it needed to work at it's full potential! And the price is out of this world- a true Steal!!! Thx for sharing, we are very happy with this unit! Will be ordering another for our Jeep SRT8 soon!

For those of you asking below: I've had my Dasaita (same as Dex's Seicane, just a different Chinese company) about two years now, and it still works. I've had to reboot it many times, as sometimes it just locks up or gets "stuck" on the loading screen. Like phones, it's gotten slower over time, too. Some apps aren't getting some of the updates, like the RUclips app, for example. However, it's really the only game in town if you want a big-screen Android unit in your Jeep. I love mine. When it dies, and I have no doubt it will, I'll just replace it with a newer model of the same thing.

Just a tip when taking out the power window controls, you did scuff your dash a little even though you used the cloth. What you can do instead is take out one of the vents and stick your hand in and push out the harness from the back, no scuffs! Or just use a plastic pry tool lol.

Don't use a screwdriver wrapped in a towel. Use a plastic spud. You can get 10 of them for $2 from Harbor Freight.

Love your videos. What are your thoughts after having the radio for a while now. Would you say it’s worth it? I’ve seen so many mixed reviews on this specific platform. Should I pick one up or look into a different touchscreen?
I have an iPad installed in my jeep as well, some of the most useful apps that I can think of: 1) google Map or Waze, 2) iBook with jeep user manual in PDF, 3)OBDfusion, 4) GasBuddy, 5) Spodify, 6)inclinometer, 7)GoPro app, 8)notebook that I airdrop notes from my iPhone to the iPad with maintenance intervals, torque specs, fluid type for different components etc.

That is sweet!! I saw the Alpine unit and they want over $3,000 for it, what a rip off, I am going to go with this one with the OBD2 with blue tooth so that I can monitor the engine. This even comes with the replacement dash where the Alpine you have to cut your factory dash in half.

I saw when you first hooked it up that it showed the open doors, so it must be communicating with the onboard computer. So I'm wondering if it can be used to reset the speed and gear shift point parameters for when you install larger tires?
Great idea! I am sure that it can be done! It is all about finding the right programs to run. I am not a super tech savvy guy but I am sure there are people out there who could do wonders with this head unit! The options are endless!
So this has everything needed ???? I'm looking at getting a radio right now and I have to buy the extra harness for the steering wheel controls. I have a 2016 JKU with the 11speaker alpine system. And after having it for some time do you still recommend it

Great video! I've had an experience with this company, not a good one though. First I have to say that I can't say anything bad about the product, but my issue was with the company. I normally don't talk bad about any company, but I feel I have to share my experience. Seicane contacted me about a month ago asking if I could film a complete installation and review of this unit in exchange for the unit free of charge. I normally turn down companies I've never heard of, but this one intrigued me so I said sure! They asked for my info, name, address etc, I provided them with all of my info and then they contacted me back that day. They asked me to pay them $91.00 for shipping and a deposit for 80% of the total cost of the unit! I said, I thought it was a promo unit in exchange for the video? They replied it is free, you just have to pay us shipping and 80% of the unit and we will refund you if we like the video and if you give a good review! They also wanted me to give an in depth review on their website saying how good this unit is and how much I like it. At this point I just wanted to see if this was a scam, so I said okay, how do I pay the shipping and deposit? They wanted me to pay the shipping to one paypal account and the deposit to a different paypal account! Sound fishy to anyone else? I politely declined their offer. Like I said, I can't say anything bad about the unit itself, but something is a little off with this company. In no way am I saying not to buy from this company, or take anything away from AdventureDex or his video. I'm just sharing my experience with this company.

I will start by saying that I love your videos. Very informative and your presentation is great! I purchased this radio straight from the manufacturer and could not wait to get it. Received the radio and dash kit and was so excited to install it. After installing the radio I also had purchased the wireless back up cam that is an option with this radio and I am experiencing some issues. The radio keep freezing on me and I have to reset it all the time. Major bummer. Also, the back up camera only works some of the time. Not sure if it's because it's wireless or not. They also sent me the wrong dash kit. I have a 2016 Black Bear and they keep sending me the previous models dash. Is there any trouble shooting that you can advise me on. Please. Also still have not received the right dash kit! Thanks in advance for your response! Keep up the good work with the videos!

Hey i got the same screen but it sounds really different than the original..the sound has no character now and the subwoofer sounds very low..any ideas to solve this?
If you don't swap the wires the sound will be horrible. There are wires to swap I'm not sure which ones a friend of mines that works for a shop had to pry it out of the makers in china
how does maps work while driving? do I need to buy the 4g adapter, or does it work through a supplied antenna somehow?

It's normal on the Jeep. I have a "New to me" Jeep and it just won't go away. The truck runs fine.

Everyone wants to know how this held up. Did you have any problems?
I've been running this unit for about a year now with very little issue. Bluetooth will occasionally fail to connect with my phone but it's pretty rare and my phone is a few years old. The dash pieces that come with the unit are cheap but they lined up fine and bolted right in. I give it a thumbs up but I've seen videos stating other wise so it's really a roll of the dice.
Been running it for a long time. No real issues just a few minor complaints. Overall good value for the price!

Great vid, I am just thinking about buying a similar android head unit. I would get an apple dongle to get apple CarPlay running if connecting to my iPhone and derfinitive I would also get a OBD2 reader and OBD app to display all the car status data I want to see while driving offroad. Ever tried one of these?

Can you access your rear view camera just by opening an app? I currently have my camera wired to the rear daytime running lights line and put a toggle switch inline to a side screen. This was to keep an eye on my open bed trailer while im driving. Wanted to know if there was a way to see the camera just by pressing an app or option.
Also the manufacturer offers a drive camera. Any ideas how i works, or any advice as to if its worth it?

Thanks Joshua! The camera only comes on when the Jeep is in reverse. I am sure you can rig it up so that it comes on via a switch. It would just take some extra wiring. I am not sure anything about the extras that the manufacture offers. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

Guys there is a difference in dashboard i believe 2007 to 2011 had pod speakers which have different sytle dash and 2011 to 2017 have flat speakers so that dashboard is different you will need to send in your dash pic to the seller Chinese or seicane for them to send you the right head unit with right dashboard

Hey by any change would you know how to correctly get the equalizer to work properly to sound like it originally did with the stock stereo ? I have the alpine speakers with the subwoofer from factory and haven’t been able to make it sound the same . If you have any tips that would help !

4 things I hate about this is the screen resolution is only 1024 x 600. My Lenovo tablet is 1920 x 1080! Movies look amazing on my tablet. The second thing I hate about having Android in a head unit is very soon the operating system will be out of date. Also I noticed it only has 2gig of ram. You need at least 4gig. And finaly, They don't have a kit for my right hand drive diesel JK wrangler diesel.

Dex the location of the firewall look a bit different on my 2017 jku then yours any advice on where I find the firewall opening to feed the wire through. I'm sure I'm looking right at it.
The firewall always has a rubber grommet in it. It is pretty use to locate if you look in the footwell! Usually round too! Hope that help! Thanks for watching!!

Personally, I think Carobotor makes the best head unit. And their guage cluster replacement is nothing short of amazing! I never even thought something like that could be done. And not only did they do it. It's also an incredible unit. I just got both their K1 and J Pro installed and I'm just totally blown away by how cool they are. I feel like I have a whole new car. Plus they threw in the vent lights for free as a Christmas gift! The Batman camera is really good too as far as the visibility and camera quality. I can't overstate how happy I am with their products!!
Just found the channel and am liking it! Quick question about this unit (and similar units out there) can you still access the apps and the navigation while the Jeep is on? I've seen a lot of them that require you to put the vehicle in park before you can change the navigation points and whatnot.

The problem with the app is that I would be using my cell phone minutes. That would be expensive on a cross country trip.

No. I'm not using my cellphone minutes or 5 GBytes of downloads for this. Once 5G comes out, may be cell phone service will be cheaper. I'll put my money to work someplace else for now.
