!!Important!! If you really want to 3D print this, combine all the bodies using boolean into one before exporting, otherwise your slicer might have problems with the intersecting shells
Thanks for sharing this! Hope it didn't trip you up too much!!!!
@@adskFusion not at all, I just noticed it and wanted to save other people from potential problems. I would love for you to pin/heart my comment, so others can see it!
Cheers
Done!
Ahhh maybe that’s why mine looks like crap.
Thanks Hans. I've always noticed that cura has a hard time making a multibody piece look seemless once it's printed.
It's probably because I never heard about what you just explained, thank you.
these are my favorite type of tutorials Taylor! Please make more, this is the best way to learn just basically watching a skilled user do his thing. Very concise, very clean and not too fast not too slow, perfect. Would have been cool to see the lamp finished though...
that was fantastic, and even better when I followed along. thank you very much.
Your tutorials are always great Taylor. Well thoughtout and very easy follow and informative too...
Great tutorial man, that’s my second day learning and finally I start understanding the Fusion 360 better. Keep up with the good work
Amazing tutorial, thank you! Such clear and easy-to-follow instructions... I like that you didn't use shortcuts and instead showed us where to go with the mouse 😃
Fusion 360 is such a powerful tool! I use it for 3D printing and CNC work as well. It's just incredible.
Awsome job with this Taylor!
Thanks, this tutorial is awesome. Especially appreciate the pace. Just right, not too fast not too slow. :)
what a great tutorial. I'm in the middle of learning fusion and you covered so much more than just making a lampshade! Thank you!
Awesome! Love to hear that, Mark!
Really great tutorial! I have learned so much through this one. Thank you!!!
Thanks! Best tutorial out there! I now have a fantastic looking lamp/vase to show as my first 3d CAD drawing!
I'm just getting started on 3d printing and this was hugely helpful
Simple. Clear. Concise. I really liked your video.
Another great video, Taylor!
This is one of the best explained Fusion video projects I've seen to date.
So clear, no steps missed or assumed, making it so easy to follow.
And here we are in 2022 and this is still the best.
Thanks for that.
As I watched the video, I saw something that gave me an idea.
That is, when the shade is first rounded, without the diamond cuts, it looked like a flower pot.
So one could make a matching flower pot and lamp shade that would be very cool.
And the flower pot COULD have a few styles.
Solid
Diamond cuts
other cuts
but all retaining the main form.
Very cool!
I went back to the step to creating the circular patterns.
Before doing that, I added a 0.75mm filet to the "straps".
After doing the patterns, there are no more sharp edges.
Looks nice.
Thank you for the detailed tutorial. I never used fusion 360 before but i was able to create and print this lampshade. I wish I could attach the beautiful pictures here.
Great tutorial, well explained, thank you Taylor!
great tutorial, well explained and defined beyond what I learned from school. Thank you
I just started using Fusion 360 and I am amazed at how easy it is. There should be a course in high school for Fusion 360 just like there was for typing. Just like typing has become very important, 3D design will be very important soon as 3D printing becomes common place.
Yep I'd say Fusion is way easier than any other cad app and results are better.
Solidworks is so much easier
In my school we do the cours
@@timbollinger Simply no. And it's not free.
I am from Brazil and I am starting with Fusion 360 and I love it. This tutorial is amazing, thanks a lot
Glad you liked it!
Thanks to this video you just made me a new Fusion360 user. Goodbye Rhino! Hello again learning curve =/
Thank you so much for this video, it is extremely helpful.
I am currently using other cad softwares for free form modelling. Thanks to Fusion 360, it's awesome, very easy and ideal for soft edge modelling.
I’m late to the party, but I’ve learned more in watching 3 videos here than I have by tinkering for 2 weeks. Fantastic job man. I can not possibly thank you enough.
Better late than never! Glad you found these videos helpful...that's our goal. Make sure to subscribe for more great (and newer) content!
Thanks for this awesome tutorial!
First time I have seen the Intersect Operation in the Extrude feature. Really found it useful! I am sure I will be using it in the future.
One of the best tutorials I have ever seen...
Very good, detailed and very clear explanation.
Nice video 👍🏻
even 2-3 years later this is a great tutorial this clicked a lot better then any others ive watched
I love frisson 360 because of how easy it is and these awesome tutorials please more of them
Glad to help!
Thank you! This was super explicit and helpful :)
Great video, thank you Taylor.
Very good, well presented tutorial! Good pace, clear audio directions, and a clever, useful technique. Thanks!
Thanks James!
excellent, really like your design philosophy of fundamental objects to final design. thank you very much.
this was very well done. I was able to follow it completely
Brilliant! Thank you for the tutorial and time putting it together. All the best to you
Thanks for watching and the kind words!
Well done. Thank you!
I would have never thought of doing the pattern like that! Good tips!
Taylor is one of the best!
This program is mind-blowing! Years ago I tried to teach myself patch modelling in both 3dsmax and Maya - whilst I made some progress I eventually gave up because of all the clumsy and complex operations you had to perform attaching, detaching and stitching surfaces together. I therefore chose to develop my high poly modelling skills and left behind NURBs as an interesting concept but impractical method for creating complex models that would be used for animation or game assets. I've always been aware of programs like AutoCAD, SolidWorks and even Sketchup as good solutions to producing complex accurate surface geometry - however, I never viewed them as creative as your ability to radically alter or kit bash a model together with purpose was limited. This program is nothing short of a revolution in its approach to surface modelling - all of the complex operations are gone and you are free to manipulate your creation with precise control. I'm sure a lot of other poly modellers must be looking at this program and seeing the possibilities... I've already experimented creating shapes that I've exported out as meshes to Zbrush and the results incredible. The meshes will eventually require retopology in the final stages for the kind of work I do - but this isn't too difficult. If Autodesk could also develop a way to export these models out with good quad topology then this program would be perfect!
Thanks for tutorial! Great video.
That was an awesome and informative video. Thank you.
thank you so much this was super helpful
Thank you, that was an excellent tutorial
you make it look easy :) and beautiful - thanks for the tutorial
Super helpful! Thank you!
Thank you for the patient instruction. This was an excellent tutorial.
bro can u gmail it to me please man i have an assignment on it
Awesome tutorial. Thank you.
It is so amazing!!
wonderful video. thankyou
just finished your tutorial and followed along by making my own in an open fusion 360 window. very good tutorial. fun, cool looking project and easy to follow pace and directions. i'll try more of your vids and share them with others!
Thanks Robby! This has been a user favorite tutorial for a while now...which is why I just added it to a new Essentials Playlist. Check out the others there!
Beautifully explained. Thank you...
wow loved this! thank you :)
I enjoyed that video thanks.
I did try this and I was able to save a step. When I rotated the bodies I chose both of the artifacts that were generated by the extrude. I just needed one rotation rather than two.
Great tutorial! Thanks!
Espetacular seu tutorial, parabéns pela atitude de compartilhar seu conhecimento.
Obrigado..
great presentation, exactly what I was looking for. I add my specific userParameters in Solid/Modify/ChangeParameters allowing to change it easily without opening sketch.
Very well explained! Kudos...
Learned a lot! Thanks!
Really great presentation.
First time fusion user, awesome video!
Thanks for the tutorial ! Very clear !!
One of the best!
Remarkable in clarity of each step
I am new at it but used Solidworks extensively for my designs
I would love to see how a Jewelry Ring can be designed
I am wondering if you can import files from SolidWorks and create faces on surfaces from SolidWorks
I know Rhino 3D has that capacity
Fantastic guide, learnt lots
Excellent and Powerful tutorial. I could use your steps on SolidWorks too. The clarity is great. Thanks a lot.
can u please gmail it to me i have an assignment on dis
One very teachful and good tutorial!
Excellent thank you for your video tutorial 👍😊
Thanks for this video!! helps me alot :)
That's a wonderful tutorial...
I would love to see the real thing at the end... that would make it perfect.... seeing the planing and the final product.
Yeah, sorry that last bit was omitted. I'm not even certain it WAS printed.
Great video! Thanks
The best fusion tutorials on youtube. Taylor is boss!
Taylor is quite good, but you gotta check out Brads live streams!
I am very much a newbie here. But your tutorial took away a good portion of my anxiety. Thank You. But as a newbie your mouse moves a bit too quick for me to see what you have chosen from the various menus. But the more I watch the more I learn. I also can always pause and rewind, a bit of a pain, but what learning curve isn't. Subbed. Thanks again.
Nice little tutorial. I was still thinking about how you'd get all the holes in there so nicely while you just made a big "hole" and just left the small strips... It's thinking like that newbies like me have to learn.
so gooood for learning fusion 360!!! thank you my lord!
Amazing.... Thank You.
Thank you for this tutorial. It is a great way to show how a tool can be used to actually design a real-world component.
I had taken a break from CAD field for around 12 years. When I wanted to get back, I loved Fusion 360. It was easy to learn cloud-based, affordable software. I could revise the concepts in a month's time. I myself have designed a course in Fusion 360 on Udemy and also started teaching on youtube. I would love to have your feedback.
Great to have you join the community!
Well done!
great tips, i learned so much in this short video, keep it up 👍
One of our best!
Awesome tutorial!
I've just done it!
Will upload more details soon.
How is the top part held in place?
Excellent tutorial
Amazing, thanks for the video
Super usefull tutorial, just what I needed to start making more complex and stylish shapes
Thanks Victor! Glad you found this and that it helped!
bro can u gmail it to me please man i have an assignment on it
Thanks for the tutorial! This is much better than Solidworks! Thumps up!
Taylor. But far you are my favourite fusion tutor.
We have a special place for Taylors stuff....right at the top!
Excellent! Learnt a lot!
This is incredible.
Thank you!
fantastic!!!! thanks a lot for your nice and clear explanations!
Thanks for watching! Make sure to subscribe if you found it to be helpful!
of course! I love this software!! it reminds me of my childhood, playing LEGO. I use FUSION360 at my montessori-school in munich for 3D-printing. I used SketchUp for a while but Fusion360 is perfect in my eyes ... never saw such a clever programmed software before. Thanks to all your smart Programmers :-) at Autodesk ....
Really nice, would love to see the printed product on the lamp working.
Cool thanks. Took your method and made an elegant looking vase thing for holding kitchen utensils in the new college apartment. Cheers
You're a great teacher...
Love it.
One tip: you might want to mention that Fusion 360 is free for startups and enthusiasts :-)
This is true!
thanks, very helpful
