Thanks so much! Not a thing...I still use and LOVE Bearly Art. I just wanted to gove this one a fair shake cause it's half the process of Bearly Art. They are basically the same. Lol
I wonder how an iron would work? If you emboss, then lay the foil on top of the dry embossing powder and press straight down without sliding the iron, the foil should transfer to the reheated embossing powder. Let it cool a couple minutes then remove the foil sheet. I may try this myself.
I don't recall you mentioning it in the video, but I assume this is toner-reactive foil, not foil for hot foiling machines. I'm not sure if it matters, since I've never used the latter, but if it does, that might be a good thing to point out. :) I have never seen this exact technique. I've done something similar with sticky embossing powder, which can be pretty finicky, since if you heat it too long initially, it loses its stick. I see timing the heating as more art than science personally, but whatever. I have used gloss gel medium to foil with stencils & toner-reactive foil, but you need a laminator or Minc machine for that, so I would say that wouldn't fit your criterion of not needing one. But, it works like a charm & you don't have to buy relatively expensive foiling gels that are basically just for foiling. Even gloss Mod Podge works for that. A tip from Lindsay the Frugal Crafter, btw. Anyway, thank you for sharing. It's funny, because recently I was ironing small pieces of fabric for making crafty clean-up towels, & I wondered if having some of those finger covers like you used would keep my fingers from getting burned by the steam. Might be worth a try there. Hope y'all are doing well. Take care, & have an awesome day! :)
To be honest, I didn't know there was a difference between toner-reactive foil and foil for hot foiling machines. I'd have to say what I used was the former because I don't have a hot foiling machine. Sorry I can't provide more clarity. :(
Cute idea with the little ghosts but I really don't like the results.. you are definitely right though that using this technique and outline images is much more successful.
I just bought that heat gun a few weeks ago and I love it to

AMAZING TIP! thank you!!
Really cool!

Hello, I’d like to know what type of foil did you use with your projects was it toner foil, textile foil or hot foil? Thank you
Hi there! it was this kind from Spellbinders Prism Foil: shrsl.com/3p2x8
I'm not sure which category that falls into.
You can run it through as laminator too for fully foiled❤❤
Yes and there are better ways to do this for sure. Thanks!
Great tip. Do you know what temperature we need to use on a REGULAR laminator for foiling? I can't seem to find an answer. TIA
I do not know this but hopefully someone in the comments will ❤️
I love all your videos Mary! Very cool technique reminder. Maybe I missed something, but what happened to using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue?

I bet it would work GREAT! Awesome idea!
