Thanks for vid. I've got a bottle of antifreeze I bought a few years ago(used in car I don't have now). It's clear and says on bottle that it can be used with any color antifreeze. But some sources say don't mix like that. When I look at my '08 Corolla reservoir I can't see anything at all between the low & high marks (maybe it's too dirty on outside - I wiped side with paper towel but that didn't make a difference). Can't tell what color antifreeze is in there or what type it is. Taking the cap off reservoir doesn't show the coolant inside. Is mixing really a big deal?
What I did is (correct me if I am wrong) I flushed and changed the coolant after that I turned the car on with the heater on, the fan on 2nd speed the coolant level went down then I added more coolant, expansion tank was at the full mark after everything was checked (leaks , level) went on a test drive
After I finished testing the car the expansion tank level was at the middle so I added coolant till the full mark Should I check the level in the radiator
Hi and thanks for watching. You want to make sure to use the coolant specified in your owners manual. It is not a good idea to use water and can damage your vehicle.
@@kovernatic there's no point lmao😅, there is a hole in the plastic cap with a vent tube, plus its freaking made out of plastic and it's a simple press on lid that would shoot off if any pressure were to build in the first place. If you wanted to open the metal coolant cap then you should definitely let the engine cool before opening because that part of the system is pressurized.
I have a 2006 Corolla LE. Bought it new. Still running great at 220,000 miles
My dad has had a couple Corollas and thinks they are great cars.
2004 300k miles and still running great.
Ya bro my 06 Has at least 350k the garage don’t work no more but I change the oil on it every 3k miles no lights on AC still work to
I have the 2005 106,000 and people ask me if I will sell. No.
2005 289,000 miles still running just fine
Cheers this actually really helped. Going to the shops now to buy some coolant!
Thanks man ! I’m gonna check my coolant level now 😎
2006 here with 250,000 miles. Runs like new.

I need to know the answer to this as well. What did you find out?
@@rhondaqualls2954Owner manual?
I'm guessing you don't have to also fill up the other metal radiator cap to the left of the over flow tank? It is marked "coolant" as well.
That's where he's supposed to add the coolant and not to the overflow tank
I could listen to you all day!👍😂
This was the longest 5 minutes of my life
@@michaelthomas4346 I hear you, brother😂
What should the temperature gauge look like if the car is not overheating?
It should never be over half. It should always be around the middle
Wow this must be dumb biy I can't see through the plastic to know where the level is at. Maybe I can try a flashlight.
Hi
After a coolant flush+ replacement what is the best way to burp the system ( letting all the air out)
What I did is (correct me if I am wrong)

Should I check the level in the radiator
so i drilled coolant but i cant drill water i added water in reserve tank for clean but did not go how can i make empty do you think ?
So I can fill it straight from the tabk and not in the line?
I have a 2008 but I didn't use Toyota brand. The one I bought is green in color. Hope I didn't mess anything up.
It should be pink color
I've used green prestone for the last 6 years. It'll be fine
Any updates?
thanks a lot man, just what I needed
Very helpful thank you
Great video. Thanks!
You're doing it wrong my friend. If your coolant level is low, you should add coolant directly to the radiator
so helpful thank you!!
can water be used as coolant
@@ThatBoldStatement Thanks

Don’t use water bro lmao
Do not use water. It can cause corrosion. Also, during winter, it may freeze overnight, expand, and crack the radiator.
You don't need to wait for the engine to cool down to open the plastic coolant cap. It has a vent tube and is always depressurized.
😂 for sure wait for it to cool down
