Merry Christmas to you too!you are such a kind soul and you mean so much to me and my channel moving forward. All the best to you and your family! hopefully see you Friday!
I heard the M10 paired with the Dali Rubicon 8s at RMAF '19 (sadly the last hurrah for that event), it it was one of my favorite rooms. Very immersive sound. Great vid, keep up the good work.
Best of the Christmas season to you and yours. You’ve pointed out the conundrum ..once you’ve been able to access a higher quality system..others may indeed be “fun” …but a hamburger is not a prime rib.
🤣great analogy. Sad but true. But its great to have them here as comparison two full simple systems head to head at big price differences. There is no giant killer it got killed. But its not to say that the NAD system isnt really good because it is great for what it offers at the price.Merry Christmas
🖤Hey Dave, Merry Xmas Bro! we weren't allowed tear wrapping paper, it was a luxury item.. it got used for many years because it was heavy duty stuff.. not like the gsm today..
would be interesting but I dont know that hertz can stream and has reference phono stage.Would be great to have a similar device in these aspects to compare
Got the Bluesound Node Icon and Musician r2r Draco Dac. The Icon is aluminum case with gorilla glass. What a beautiful piece. Sounds awesome 😎 with th Draco too. The depth , space and ghosting especially in live recordings. Thanks for the Nad M10 because it helped me decide whether or no to get the Icon. I'm sure it's built same way , because trickle down features.
I heard a jbl self made 3way with non resonant box 3way , modified E140 , 2470fenolic alnico with modern waveguide , 2402 alnico ,selfmade cross 800/5000 hz, listened through a cheap 300$ pioneer amp it was undistorted high dynamic tremendous bass , it played better then the most expensif focals or b&w or Wilsons just with cheap cables, with peaks of 17 watts ina 80m2 huge place it was at discobar undistorted no clipping levels with cheap source ....
@@connorduke4619I'm sure Denafrips is good but from what I look at on RUclips I found that the Denafrips was bright and the Draco was more laid back which I prefer. It's just a choice you have to make. Oh yeah and Draco was cheaper in price and Kathryn was there for good service.
🖤not being picky mate, but.. in all fairness, the Bel Canto (AUD14,500) retails more than 4 times the price of the NAD V2 (AUD3,500) and more than 3 times the price of the V3 (AUD4,500).. without even listening to the BC I would expect it to be highly refined compared to the NAD.. I mean, $3,500 is very low level midfi, or more precisely, lowfi in todays market.. even one of my NAD power amps from 10 years ago was worth nearly twice the price of the M10.. know what I mean.. market-targets and the economy have changed a bit, but I reckon up to $20,000 or so per component is still midfi gear.. like, it's good, but you have to be particular to find true tonal accuracy under that price point.. ♣I know you've got friends that play music so I imagine your ears are up to date with real world sonics.. every time I come back from a jam and put some music on at home, the first thing I think is.. that track was obviously recorded in a studio.. as you would probably know, in-the-room acoustic guitars don't sound high pitched, scratchy and twangy.. they sound mellow and smooth, calming on the nerves.. Drums in-a-room don't sound much like a studio recording either, they're pleasant to listen to and you can hear the drum surround doing it's thing.. it is dulcet, definitely boomy and echoey all at the same time.. If live instruments didn't sound this way.. would they have ever become popular instruments..? take the bagpipes for example.. an acquired taste for many non-Scots. I would hope the live experience is what you use to determine tonality.. and not the difference between two radically priced components.. 👍
I was an interesting comparison as I would say most would say the NAD system is expensive. Not many drop 13k on a system. It was meant to show two different tiers and its cool to be able to show that here
@@greatlookinglandscap 🖤Hey Dave, just had a look inside an M10 V2 and it seemed to shout "budget build." Had a look at the feature set and wow.. they definitely tried to pack a lot in there for little cost. There's too many features for that unit not to be retailing well above its shelf price.. Maybe it's aimed at a younger market that think an "all in one" is a "good deal." IMO the unit doesn't even have the power output to deliver "slam" into anything other than a small budget 2-way. It's not hard to see that NAD's philosophy has shifted from what it was just 10 - 20 years ago. I think the early gear engineered in the UK had integrity and lived up to the mantra of affordable quality. A good chunk of that cost efficiency came from using plain-steel pressed chassis'. A high quality chassis is an expensive part especially when you consider designing, tooling-up for extrusion, process of extruding and machining that aluminium into a frame that screws together. They really don't make enough units to offset that cost. The M Series of old, exuded quality of components and chassis. From what I can see of the newer offerings, this doesn't entirely appear to be the case. I haven't heard the M10 mainly because streaming is not part of my future or bucket list.. as you know, a lot of the music I listen to isn't on streaming platforms. And so, based on my small amount of research, I think it's a hard ask to put the M10 into the Masters category..! It just doesn't seem to belong on that shelf. Certainly not when compared to the earlier offerings build quality and singularity of purpose. I suspect a lot of this degradation stems from Lenbrook's long term vision for the brand. That's probably what's caused the biggest shift in their whole platform. Even the price is alarmingly low and doesn't reflect the original tier of the Masters Series. Personally, if I was looking for a streamer, I would've overlooked this unit for all the obvious reasons, apart from all the shortfalls expressed in opinions online. Sadly that's coming from a 40yr loyal NAD fan..! That said.., the M10 is well targeted at todays modern and youthful market. It would tick a lot of their boxes. AUD3,500/4,500 is only 2 or 3 weeks average wages in a built up area (not at macca's or kfc). If you work remote or in the mines, it's chicken feed. Today, no one would consider remote or mine work for less than AUD15,000/month. Costs are pretty much relative to where we live in the world. A good 4WD ute with a V8 can run up to $145,000.. all the young tradesmen drive them these days.. they're everywhere.. totally unthinkable back in my day that's for sure.. when I was an apprentice in the very early 80's, you could buy a three bedroom house on ¼ acre block, brand new, for $60,000..😂
@@clickbeetle2720believe me the m10 is a beautifully built piece.I was very surprised. The power is ample also!and the signature is very punchy .I feel it is a great device and am keeping it for sure for further experiments. Its to keep audio nervosa away and just plug and enjoy. The NAD does things better digitally via stability and ease of use better some very costly units calling themselves “all in ones”.The dirac is awesome .I do not really see your logic on calling it a budget build I think its beautifully designed inside and out and with right speaker pairing a great system. For one being made in China and keeping chassis small also knowing what these huge fancy chassis cost and this saves a buyer from a big half empty costly chassis at huge cost.We spoke a lot and I dont know what your system is.Mine is simple as pie now after oh so many different complex systems. So much better mentally and the performance is still there with canto. The nad isnt cheap when you consider its tiny stature.Anyway we do not need to argue about it as it sits here not in front of you and I can share accurately about it.I expected a cheap plastic lightweight thin sounding over priced piece. But its the opposite. Is it for people like me that play in a deeper pool to anchor there system ?no but it would be right for a lot of people.Well done NAD because if this was made in Canada $$$$$.This is a brilliant design and a bargain. But the build is so good it looks like a ferrari in person. It could never be done at this cost without a superb factory and QC in China.

I'm not a big bass freak but I like well defined, distinct and textured bass. The Bel Canto is more up my ally.
helluva piece and I absolutely love it.It changed the way I look at audio and what is possible from one component

what about refinement, imaging and detail and resolution? as your naming some superb speaker brands. How could you actually do this comparison?

Another good combination would be Denafrips Pontus 15th dac with Marantz Model 50 amp, each of which are getting great reviews.

Auditioned better sonics
Mostly higher res speakers
