Dear Erin, you have asked in your video which loudspeakers are on the wishlist of your viewers to be reviewed/measured by you. My biggest wish would be the Vestlyd V15C. As far as I understand you are already in contact with the company since you already had lately a speaker from Lyngdorf/Hifiklubben in your reviews (Radiant Acoustics). During this summer I had the chance to listen to this speaker hooked to the NAD C 3050 for more than a hour with the music of my choice in a very bad environment. The speakers has been build up close to a glasfront in the open area of a hifiklubben store in Germany. For sure this is not a “high end” hifi speaker but more of a fun and party speaker but even so I prefer usually very neutral speakers as e.g. Genelec’s, Neumann’s or ME Geithain’s I was very impressed about this from my point of view great looking speaker (I am a kid of the 80’s born in 1971). The tonality did not change while moving around in front of the speaker and it had a very nice bass, an excellent soundstage and a sound which simply brings a smile to once face. I have listened at the same day to a very expensive Fyne Audio speaker in a very controlled environment and this was in comparison by far a lot less good speaker as this “cheap” Vestlyd speakers. Unfortunately I can find nowhere reliable measurement of the Vestlyd and therefore I would be more than happy to see this speaker in one of your reviews next year. I wish you a merry Christmas and great start into next year! Stay healthy!
Looks like we're multiplying as well. Seems like just yesterday he had 10k followers, then 20k, to 50k and now he's pushing 100k! For providing honest reviews and hard facts to an audience who has mostly relied on snake oil and biased opinions for decades, this is most impressive. Faith in audiophiles... partially restored! I'm hoping for cable (low and high level) reviews and measurements next year to debunk even more myths. Those audiophile grade ethernet components and USB cables needs some work as well...😂
Hey Erin, if anyone has a spare Wiim Pro (which they might if they upgraded to a Pro Plus or Ultra) I found an interesting use for them… subwoofer control and 12v trigger. Here’s how to do it: I use a Wiim Pro Plus as my streaming source, but I had a spare Wiim Pro lying around gathering dust. So, I hooked up the spare Wiim Pro between my preamp and my two subwoofers. It works really well. Line in from my preamp and line out to the subs. Now, I have volume, balance, and EQ on my subs (via the Wiim app) for free! Also, I use the 12v trigger out of the spare Wiim to turn on my power amp. That way, if I switch to another input source, like a CD player or turntable, the spare Wiim still sees a signal and keeps the power amp on!
Thanks for a year of the most uniformly informative posts on sound reproduction equipment on RUclips, or any other medium that I've seen. In the future, if possible, I'd appreciate hearing more about equipment made, or at least assembled in the US. (If for no other reason than the performance/cost ratio of imported gear might be taking a nosedive if other countries get hit with punitive tariffs.) For example, I was very impressed with your review of the Ascend Acoustics Sierra, and there are a number of other small companies that manufacturer speakers, amps and even DACs in the US, and are seldom or never seen in the A/V - Stereo magazines or on more commercially oriented web review sites. Anyway, keep up the great work.
Other countries don't "get hit with punitive tariffs". We do. Tariffs are taxes placed on domestic importers of foreign goods who then pass the extra cost to American consumers. Perhaps you realize this but it is not obvious from your wording.
It’s awesome he included affordable products in the mix. Erin has access to some of the most premium products and still tipped his hat to WiiM and the R700. Pretty cool.
I just got a pair of Blade One Metas. Great deal on a demo set with all accessories and boxes. There is a bit of overkill for my room size with these, but for a 60% off retail, I will get over it.

Lower/mid efficiency speakers fit better into people's homes :) To be fair, evidence suggests that most high efficiency speakers appear "life like/dynamic" because they are quite bright and often don't reproduce any deep bass. Also, the sensitivity usually comes at a cost, like very narrow dispersion. That is also rarely an advantage outside a small sweetspot. :)
Thanks Erin for the great attention to detail. Based on your review of the Ascend Acoustics Sierra 1 v2, I chose to try the Sierra LX speakers as they were designed to have a much better base extension. Boy, they sound very impressive, especially for a book shelf speaker. It would be interesting to get your take on these.
It would would be great, if you made a video on the best speakers to use close or very close to the back wall. Similar to the KEF r3 meta you mentioned in a previous review. Many thanks for all the hard work, wishing the best for the new year :)
@cunawaritwell... Amplifiers are (generally) much more short lived, subject to obsolescence and prone to damage/wear than passive speakers, so putting them into passive speakers don't make much sense when it comes to sustainability. For ease of use or customizing the sound for improved sound quality for the end user, though - sure! IMHO, separate/modular components (with the same functions) should be available from the manufacturers instead. They could easily make an app with presets for each speaker model etc.

Merry Christmas Erin! What a year it's been for you I'm sure! Maybe one suggestion for 2025. I'm looking at some Tannoys but am also looking at Fyne Audio. I know there's a little bit of drama between the two brands which might make for some good content. Admittedly I'm kind of looking at the higher end offerings like the the SGM15 of Tannoys and the F1-8S of Fyne and I guess my question is this. Does the 'better' speaker always come from the current engineering 'talent'? Obviously Tannoy is the more storied brand with the history and pedigree and they have a formula that works. But I always hear this marketing line "oh the talent behind the design is now at X company" and such and such. What are the limits of intellectual property when it comes to acoustic design since both are utilizing coaxial drivers? There's also the question of manufacturing origins which I also find interesting. I still have a fondness for Tannoys but am wondering if a new company can make a better "dog" so to speak. Or is a dog a dog no matter where it comes from. Sorry for the long comment.
Erin please try reviewing and if possible comparing Kef reference 5 meta and perlisten audio s7t and thanks for all the reviews Really appreciate these honest reviews Merry Christmas and happy new year
With the list of speakers reviewed growing all the time, it would be great to see something like a league table on the website, perhaps with sortable columns for things like linearity, price, directivity, f3 etc.
Thanks for the 2024 favorites list! I'm currently auditioning a pair of DALI Opticon 2 MK2 speakers that came highly recommended to me and I've not noticed any RUclips reviews of this speaker. The first thing that hit me when I pushed play was the huge soundstage they throw out, which I think might appeal to you as well. I have them pointing straight ahead, as recommended by Dali, and even when I'm standing right in front of one speaker, I can still hear the other channel 7-ft away. I've been playing them for close to 80hrs at about 50db @ 1-meter to break them in and they are definitely getting better tonality as they break in.
What you can do to break them in faster is place both speakers facing each other just an inch or two apart. Then wire one of the speakers backwards (out of phase). The sound from one speaker cancels most of the other. You can then crank them up a bit without disturbance.
@@bearclaw5115 Thanks, I did wire one out of phase and turn it up a bit for the first day. I've got them in phase now and I've been in and out of the room listening to them and making sure the amp isn't too warm and the iPad is still streaming properly.
See if you can review some of the Magnepan series of speakers. They have the budget, midrange, and giant speakers. I own the 3.6R and 20.7. I would be curious on your expert review. Hope this new year is better than the last.
Hi Erin, thanks for all your reviews and content this year. I enjoyed learning more about audio. Would love to see the big Kef Q towers reviewed. Either the Q950 preferably (they're a seemingly great deal on clearance right now) or its replacement the Q11 meta (just look cool). No one seems to have measurements of these and Kef doesn't publish them like it does for the R series and above.
Great vid, very informative, thanks! My request for a review are the Peak Consult Dragon Legend speakers. Hope you can get your hands on those. I love the symmetry of the design and they look they have engineered some design choices and I’m really curious to see if they achieved their goals.
Thought it could have made it in for price for performance in its class: SVS Ultra Evolution might have gotten a shout out. For price it is 2 of SVS to the Polk with their rating of 87 DB @6ohm (I know you tested the actual but I could not find your suggested DB for them in the skimming of the video). The SVS also having great harmonic distortion. Knowing it is subjective I understand from the listening perspective and I think if a tower of lower price point was looked at maybe they would be chosen or maybe something else?
Hi Erin would love some advice! I get 30% off of Marantz/Denon products… i have ls50 metas, lrs+, q150 speakers n currently have mostly a Schiit setup, vidar2, freya etc… n then some wiim stuff… I’m itching to use that discount… i bought the model m1 but was a quick return… disappointed n not very future proof… been looking at the other Models… likely going to be my only Marantz item. Under $3000 what is the best to go after?
Hey Erin, for 2025, it would be interesting for you to review the Wiim Ultra competitors Bluesound Node N132 and Node Icon. They plan to add Dirac live and have a THX AAA headphone amp as well.
Pure Sound's USHINDI driver line getting a lot of recommendations. As well as SB Acoustics. And Eri9n is not joking about the DIY kits. Those components are literally used in 4k bookshelves. The component quality and layout of the crossover is also top notch.

I've been trying to get Tannoy, Fyne and Zu for a while now but so far no luck...
I would like you to review any speaker by the renowned German company Heco, especially something from their Aurora series. Thanks
Noted!
Erin please try reviewing and if possible comparing Kef reference 5 meta and perlisten audio s7t and thanks for all the reviews
Really appreciate these honest reviews
Merry Christmas and happy new year
I did recently ask about a pair of the s7t. So hopefully that will happen this year.
With the list of speakers reviewed growing all the time, it would be great to see something like a league table on the website, perhaps with sortable columns for things like linearity, price, directivity, f3 etc.
love this video. hope it comes every year. it might be annoying to do but it would be awesome to have links to each product
I can try to do that when I get some time.
@@ErinsAudioCorner you mention the price so thats very helpful too
Links added. Some are affiliate links and some are manufacturers page.
Merry Christmas
Great stuff, thinking about that diy kit. Loved that inside”🔥” at the end! Happy happy holidays to you 🙏🏼🎄
I hope you’re having a great holiday season too!🎄
See if you can review some of the Magnepan series of speakers. They have the budget, midrange, and giant speakers. I own the 3.6R and 20.7. I would be curious on your expert review. Hope this new year is better than the last.
Merry Christmas brother!!
You too! 😊
Love that you took the time to put tekton at the end of the list. that was funny.
Merry Christmas😊
"It is the tek..." Love the sense of humor! Happy Holidays!
I keep hearing nice things about the REL 6 pack line array subwoofer configuration. I wonder how they would sound to you and how they measure.
Merry Christmas Erin! Could you mention DACs sometime? Whether you use or not, how much would you spend on one?
HNY, Erin!
Have you seen the Cabasse Murano (bookshelf) or Murano Alto (floor standing) ?
Hey Erin, for 2025, it would be interesting for you to review the Wiim Ultra competitors Bluesound Node N132 and Node Icon. They plan to add Dirac live and have a THX AAA headphone amp as well.
Pure Sound's USHINDI driver line getting a lot of recommendations. As well as SB Acoustics. And Eri9n is not joking about the DIY kits. Those components are literally used in 4k bookshelves. The component quality and layout of the crossover is also top notch.
