- In a review that's long overdue, I give my thoughts on a videogame that deserves a little more recognition as both a good movie licensed game, and a good comic book game.

2 years later we're getting a R rated solo movie
I was looking to see if anyone pointed that out so i'm not a broken recorded
MbmYT and it was fantastic
Logan was pretty good, but sucks we never got to see Wolverine in his prime tearing people apart. Some gory moments, but still pretty tame.
By the time the movie really gets going, he's wheezing and puffing around as if he was 200 years old.
(I mean come on, he's only 197)...
But yeah, not a bad flick at all, despite a part of me wanting for more.

Your helicopter pilot joke reminded me of a scenario I encountered while playing Amazing Spider-Man 2.
One thug randomly said, "hey, my kid looks up to you."
I thought, "oh, now this poor kid is going to have to manage with his dad in jail."
...Then the thug continues, "he's not the smartest kid."
So I punched him off the building.

My thoughts exactly. Just remake this game but with more refined mechanics and a actual decent plot.

the ds version on this game at least allows to also change the villains costume, so u get the actual deadpool with his voiceand everything, he still shoots lasers from his eyes but at least he looks like him, so more power to the devs for doing their best

I can't really back this up since they deleted the website containing the dev blogs (RIP the cool HeroHQ forums), but I remember reading from Raven devs that prior to being attached to the movie license they were actually in pre-production for a Wolverine game some time *before* it was an X-Men Origins: Wolverine game. So in addition to the downtime to polish the game due to delays, it was made by people passionate about Wolverine and were planning a Wolverine game prior to the movie even being greenlit. I guess that's what it takes to make a good movie based game.
We really need more good movie tie-in games.
Happy that I bought the game.

You know what I wanna see? A Logan movie game but feeling like The Last Of Us. Since Wolverine doesn't really have his healing factor but X-23 does. And having to sneak through that army in the movie. And having close up combat that's brutal like the last of us. (Spoilers) And having that scene where he had his healing factor back temporarily should be there too. And the final boss with X-24 would be awesome

The coolest thing about the game was just how detailed his healing process was seen in real time.

Pretty sick of every game being free roam now. Id rather large levels that you can explore and approach certain situations in different ways rather than giant world with a bunch of checklist events

One of the reasons that this game is good is because the developers ‘raven’ were starting the development of a wolverine game just before the announcement of the movie. So they had a head start and got extra time because of the movie’s delay.
2 light attacks followed up by a strong attack that sends the enemy flying in place. Then pressing the grab button to slam them down, and using the strong attack to punch them so hard they're sent flying at high speeds at the other enemies. I will never get tired of that. The combat system in this game was ridiculously satisfying.

Apart from the repetition, this game was amazing at the time and I would consider it as one of the best superhero movie related video games that I have ever played.

I loved see the classic wolverine outfits come to what was then considered next gen. I think they were pretty epic for the time, they had great texture and real world look blended into the classic outfits and it really brought them to life. Im a collector of Mezco One:12 and I find wolvies outfits by mezco to be extremely close to those in this game!

Zack snyder almost directed xmen origins but decided not to because of watchmen at the same time I wish he did xmen origins his visuals for gore and slashing would of been perfect

The game was already in development by Raven before they even knew a movie was being made.
Fox approached them after the fact during development to ask if they could tie the movie they were making into the game and release them together
This video will have aged very well after Insomniac Wolverine and Deadpool 3 are officially released.

This is one of the most underrated games I've ever scene. Even though I played the psp version, that game was still f*cking amazing. I've always wanted to play this game and now i realize that it was done wrong by the critics probably cause of its connection to the movie. What a generation we live in.

So glad I was able to find a copy of this game. It feels really satisfying playing after all the years. I'm amazed at the quality bringing in Hugh Jackman and some of the actors. So far the levels feel a little too similar, but the combat is fun. It combines two of my favorite things, Wolverine and old school God of War.
The line is 'I'm the best at what I do but at least the people living after I'm done won't say that'

Fun Fact about the story of this game: it was being made before the movie and was literally Hugh-jacked(INTENTIONAL PUN) to be a Movie tie-in but they were given a early draft script to work off of, hence the changes like the blob fight in the super market and the Gambit fight through a casino, they were SUPPOSED to be in the movie but were changed, likely due to budget. Its WHY this game is as good as it is and the proposed sequel is such a heartbreak to have never happened, there were even plans for multiple playable character like Mystique, Deadpool(THE REAL ONE) and Sabertooth, hell Mystique was ALMOST playable in this game but they smartly decided to focus on making the best game they could.
Let’s hope the Insomniac Wolverine carries on this game’s spirit.

Deadpool is Weapon IX, the Mutant Killer is Weapon XI. It's because of separate timelines. In the Origins timeline, Weapon IX is someone else.

It's so weird seeing this in 2019 for the first time. All that, "Gosh, I hope Deadpool turns out okay! It's such a shame we'll never get an R Rated Wolverine!" Is sweet in hindsight.
That said, they should have done a second game. I suppose THAT would have been a crappy tie in like the first was intended to be if it hadn't been for the delays.
