I've seen The Hives live twice and they're absolutely incredible!
The lead singer was also a host on a swedish Radio/TV show called "Musikhjälpen" - the music help in 2016! They lock themselves in a glass box in the middle of a swedish town for a week and broadcast live 24/7 to raise money for charity with varius guest appearances and live performances. It sounds super weird but it's awesome, and Pelle is such an incredible kind and generous person. Nothing but love for this band!

Gotta love the fact they never abandoned the "lore" behind the band. I would love if that storyline have it turn out that "Randy Fitzsimmons" had been the good Dr. Matt Destruction all along. As at this point it's not really likely he'll ever be back regularly, but it would be a nice way of having him remain an integral part of the band.

It was very obvious that the hives had been forbidden to walk on the 30ft thrusts and had almost no use of the lighting truss. So they all wore white and used 4 spots plus a feature light on the drummer. Then the singer jumped off the stage and ran around in front of the thrusts. They were amazing.

You're clearly thinking of David Bowie in the David Lynch "masterpiece" Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me. He's only in it for about a minute thirty-nine. Should've been in it a lot more. Chris Isaac or Chris Isaak or whatever is in it too as well as Keifer Sutherland. They all should've been in that movie a lot more along with Kyle McGlachlan. Now it sounds like I'm roasting the Twin Peaks cast but they were great in Twin Peaks! I just think if they're going to bother reuniting any of the Twin Peaks cast they should've reunited all of them. But that's a different story.
Pelle has the same name as their producer on Veni Vidi Vicious so there's Howlin' Pelle the singer and Pelle the producer. I guess there are a lot of Pelles in Sweden as I think Dead from Mayhem's real name WAS Pelle.
THE DEATH OF RANDY FITZSIMMONS!!! I love the concept. I love it. The horror violence and backing vocals are perfect as is the oversaturated sound of the song and the ridiculous title and catchphrase. And thanks for drinking tea, guys!!! I bought Veni Vidi Vicious just days before this single was released and I was so happy with it. Even though the songs are all more complex than any Ramones song their attack all throughout the album is still more direct, like a blast between the eyes and clocking in at 28 minutes there's not an ounce of fat on the thing. I love records like that!
Props to Pelle for looking so sick in this video, too! I love the acting. This really does evoke The Evil Dead in the best way. It looks like these guys did their homework. Well done, Hives!!!

In Labyrinth as the Goblin King, he makes a joke and chuckles like that, then the goblins are just on pins and needles... Not wanting to upset him... And he stops laughing and says Well?!?! Like LAUGH MFERS! And they loudly burst out fake laughing. I believe that's just before he sings Dance Magic Dance or whatever it's called.

Labyrinth, that's the movie where Bowie does that laugh. 🙂
Glad The Hives are back though, and still delightfully bonkers.

Should be inspirational for any rockers over 40 to come back with such a great riff

We rehearsed right across from The Hives back in 2007, chatted with Pelle now and then, didn't even know it was him til he told me his bands name lol

That feeling when " Arrival" is belted out before the mighty D come on stage. Still feels the same after 15 + concerts!

I knew it... I knew you were into Dark Place the moment you said Crimson Copper blood and in a previous video you said muscular and compact (expected "like corned beef" after it). Spent the last 20 years quoting that series and no-one ever knows what the feck I'm on about😂😂 Feel heard!

Great stuff. And talking of new releases from old bands, I'd be interested to hear what Justin makes of the shiny new Damned album, Darkadelic

I just commented a out the hives on an older video so I must have missed this one. The hives are smacking hard. The singer must have some serious vocal routine to hold up those screams and strains. They look like them are an absolute riot to go see. Will keep an eye on them.
Looking forward too seeing you on the PTL 20th anniversary tour ❤

So if Randy Fitzsimmons is now pining for the fjords, who will write their songs in the future and manage the band? I'm actually very worried!

The first time I heard Bogus Operandi I thought they were doing a nod to black metal. Just throwing that out there. And as a long time Hives fan I was just like "Where tf is this going?!" Lol
