@@eatmoremusic3650 Agree! Crazy to see and hear the vocalist in his mid 40's and still sound that good.. esp with all that screaming he's been doing for over 20 years now.
I've never seen them live before and always wanted to. I plan to although maybe not this year. I worried I'd missed them in their heyday but seeing their new stuff, I was a fool. They've never lost it.
I know it's crazy but I JUST discovered the Hives and I'm learning that they've been playing for 30 years. Unreal. I would pay to see this live today. amazing energy and great music
Me too. Saw them support The Offspring who were brilliant, but what I remember most of that night was The Hives who were “totally awesome” to use an often used but generally undeserved phrase.
I love when a band crafts their live show to be the most entertaining spectacle it can be. It adds so much to see them giving off insane energy like it’s their first gif and the crowd feeds off that. Amazing.
Rock n' roll still survives! They leave everything on stage. About 10 years ago I saw them in Colombia in a small disco with basic sound equipment. And it has been one of the best concerts in my life.
Saw them this week at the Garage in London, one of the best live shows I've ever been to. So sweaty and chaotic, we made this crowd look like a mannequin showroom! The Hives gave it everything, if you get the chance, get tickets!
Got tickets for UEA Norwich next yr. Already excited. Missed the garage. It seemed to sell out before even the launch of ticket sales. Must've been awsome.
As Letterman said: “That’s all we’re looking for.” And that’s my black and white rose bouquet for the boys before the encore!! A bit of a tradition for me over the years (see videos from their 2008 Terminal 5 and 2012 Webster Hall NYC shows), since my love for them cannot be contained by screams and claps. Long live The Kings of Rock n’ Roll! 🖤🤍♾️
Good lord alive I am once again welcomed into the era of Hives and I am fucking here for it. I had their picture on the wall for so long, and its going back up now that the kings are back.
That was a Rock & Roll show - live and sweaty and packed with energy but most importantly, GREAT SONGS! Start and band and take note, this is how it's done!
I was here for this show, and it was incredible. Seemingly every tall person in LA was in front of me, which kinda sucked. Please, people that are 5’10” and taller, if you happen to look down and see someone who’s 5’2”, please please PLEASE let them stand in front of you!
I remember seeing the hives live in Melbourne in like 2008 or something, and the energy and showmanship was the same as it is here nearly 15 years later! Insane. I remember Howlin Pelle climbing all over the speakers on the wall of The Forum.
We feel lucky that we were able to be there to film it and bring it to our subscribers! Our camera guy says that it was one of the best shows he's ever been at... and he had to dodge a microphone the whole time!
You know what is really hard? To get 50 to 250 people to do what you want with your music - that s a real challenge! But then - well it s the Hives, what did you expect?!?! 🤘😆
I saw them in 2004 and it literally changed my life. None of the other bands that were huge back then like The Strokes, Interpol etc. had that kind of energy.
For once the algorithm has smiled upon me and bestowed a blessing from hallowed times. I was once a young virgin in the bedchamber of my beloved. We had returned from our sojourn to Virgin Megastore laden with our bounty. Oh ye, for the offer was 3 for 2. We lost our innocence to a divine combination. The Moulin Rouge soundtrack, Cypress Hill Skull & Bones and ‘Your new favourite band’ by The Hives. Take me baaaack! X
Edit: I swear on my LIFE and everything that is Holy I made that comment about 14/15 mins into the video. May the Lord strike me down with thunder if I am lying. Then at 16ish minutes Pelle talks about virginity. Am I in tune with the universe? What is real, etc etc. I’ll just have another beer I guess and see what happens.
Brilliant show Always loved these guys. So glad they're back and their new songs sound as great as ever. Can't wait to see them next year. Can't beat the tongue in cheek ego. Love it!!
This is the only band which can open and close the concert with ANY song. :D
their debut was all killer no fillers literally.. you could rock out to every song on their album
@@johnd3124 Barley Legal or Veni Vidi Vicious?
@@johnd3124not sure if you got that mixed up with sum41
@@locustboy8448 Barely Legal was an amazing hardcore punk album
@@kennethkadaver Agree, some great tracks on there wish they would play som live.
best live band ever probably
Probably ❤
Probalisciously
You need to see more live bands. This is average.
@@SonikJesus What band around atm has a better live performance?
@@SonikJesus i'm a sound engineer, this is not average...
I was there next to Josh Homme, epic night.
I’ve spotted the sinister colonel sanders at the last song too. It was a surprise for sure. :D
@@benedekgabor. lmao The sinister Colonel that's awesome
Damn. That is rad. Tix for this and troubadour sold out so quickly. Had to see them in Pomona instead. Still a good show.
Every friggin' song has riffs to die for and with killer choruses and hooks! My kind of rock 'n roll...
sound mixing is absolutely class.
Kudos to the sound engineer.
brilliant, absolutely agree
It's so heartening to see them come back so strong. I saw them live 21 years ago and this just has the same spirit.
The drumming in Good Samaritan is crazy. Chris Dangerous is incredible
Yeah, he kills
Yeah, the man is good.
The Rolex of drummers.
These guys get more rocket sauce from a handful of power chords than any band since The Kinks.
Great comparison!!!!
Not sure if it's the incredible mixing quality but these guys sound better NOW than they've ever sounded.
It’s both.
@@eatmoremusic3650 Agree! Crazy to see and hear the vocalist in his mid 40's and still sound that good.. esp with all that screaming he's been doing for over 20 years now.
Agree - it must be increased experience:)

They've never lost it.
Yeah that mixing is INSANE. Definitely top notch engineers there and after the show
This looks like a wedding party outside. I want The Hives to play my wedding.
Careful what you wish for - the old folks might get GRABBERS!
Every song they played off the upcoming album is awesome, this is going to be such a good record!!!! Can't wait!
Yes
Their soon to be award winner new album

I would love to be hearing them for the first time! That's awesome!
@@theclawlives I wish I could unlearn about The Hives just so I could rediscover all the songs. Oh well, Main Offender never get's old.
Welcome to your (forever) new favorite band!

i'm getting to see them in 5 days, and just like you i just found out about them. they rock
Going back to this upload ever single months, what a great concert, GOO Hives !
The Hives will turn even the tamest crowd into a hysterical mob. Best live band
the sound technician absolutely smashed it here
Wow! Already doing Countdown to Shutdown! What a banger of a song!! :D
This is a really good song!
Now that ladies and gentlemen is how to do a show.. saw them first time around and still up there as one of rhe best gigs ever...x
I love when a band crafts their live show to be the most entertaining spectacle it can be. It adds so much to see them giving off insane energy like it’s their first gif and the crowd feeds off that. Amazing.
Going by Bogus, this new album is gonna be a firecracker!! 🧨
Countdown to shutdown is the new single for the next album, just like Bogus, its the fucking shit.
This quality is incredible and so are the Hives
That's one place I wished to be: a Hives show, in a tiny place! Awesome!!!
Exactly what I tell people
trapdoor solution sounds like a banger.
Rock n' roll still survives! They leave everything on stage. About 10 years ago I saw them in Colombia in a small disco with basic sound equipment. And it has been one of the best concerts in my life.
This is fantastic! The combination of The Hives and a tiny stage is truly special.
I love that they are still so raw and energetic after 20+ years
saw the show in New York the next week in a small venue - banger after banger after banger. Best live band ever.
