I rode it when it came out in 2002 and I was hooked from day one. To this day, I still purposely fly out to Cali just so I can get on that ride. BEST. RIDE. EVER.
Titus Rowell The refurbishment was 2008 into X2, while the original opening was 2002, as simply X.......SAME coaster, new color scheme, on-ride audio and flamethrowers.

this is the only coaster that i have screamed on, i am 62.
Rode this today for the first time. Best ride I've ever been on hands down. X2 shits on every other ride in the park, and there are a lot of good rides at magic mountain. That says a lot. Ended up riding three times even though the line was over an hour each time.
Chrisaaad The only roller coaster at magic mountain I have not rode on. Rode on it for the first time last week and cried lol.

This is one of the most awesome rides in the world and I've been on probably well over 100 coasters in my life. Why this doesn't rank higher on the Golden Ticket and other top coaster awards is beyond me.
Yes, I've ridden Superman/Bizarro, Kingda Ka, Nitro, etc. etc. To me, this ride was just as good.
Even though this was one of the scariest rides, I felt like it was the safest. That extra strap in between the restraints was really comforting.
This could have been Saw themed so easily. One of the many reasons I want to design coasters

Sooo good!! I wasn't even on my seat during most of the ride because of the 0 g's and I was holding onto the harness for my dear life haha. Best ride in the park hands down so intense!!
Hands-down, the most intense coaster I've ever been on.
And I loved every second of it.
Went on this ride yesterday... I must say, it is the craziest ride I have ever been on... I can't see why its not in the top 10 best.

This was the coaster that crushed Arrow Dynamics til the very end in 2002, but it was a worthy coaster to end on for sure :) I have never ridden a 4th dimension coaster, but X2 is high on my bucket list, since this looks to be the best Arrow Dynamics coaster in the world :)
This is my favorite coaster in SFMM, with no doubts about it.
Looks more like a machine to torture people than a ride.
In what way? Yeah, it spins, but it doesn't hurt in anyway (I've been on this ride before).

Titanosaurus Yeah but this isn't torture, it's the manipulation of fear and *relief* for adrenaline junkies, like all coasters. Torture would not have the relief moments.

Damn!!!! Looks boss!!! How come I've never seen this before and I've been following coasters for over 3 years now ? Too cool not to mention more often . And I've never seen it on any top coasters lists ? It's like the zipper and Griffon put together . Perfection !!!!
This ride has been closed for awhile because the cable on the chain lift broke. From what I heard it should reopen in the winter

I have been on many, many coasters in my life and there's been some great ones (Millenium Force, Tatsu, Maverick...) but X2 is by my far my most favorite just because it's so unique and it's a complete adrenaline rush unlike any other I've ever experienced. X2 rules!

That first drop where the seat rotates and you’re looking straight down is insane
According to a friend of mine who went recently, it is the most insane roller coaster on the planet...It doesn't look like anything she'd ever seen, nor experienced before, and she's lived in Erie County, Ohio most of her life (location of Cedar Point)...She said it commanded the longest lines/wait times of any roller coaster she was ever on...

The jerky turn the seats make reminds me of the MvM robots from Team Fortress 2.

This is by far the most terrifying thing I've been on LOL And I'm such an adrenaline junkie & love rollercoasters...This one was insane! Hahaha sure seemed longer than a few minutes. Thought i was gonna die when I was on it.

man this thing is an Engineering MASTERPIECE!!!! They almost canceled the whole project due to its insanity! and it's the only one of it's kind. just amazing!!!

Best rides at mm: x2, tatsu, and full throttle. In that order.
Now: Twisted Colossus, X2, Tatsu, Wonder Woman Flight of Courage, West Coast Racers, and Full Throttle.....in that order.
There are a set of rails that control the direction and movement of your seat. Each car is independent from the others and there's no free-spinning or such.

@Hieagandaus yeah the way they designed the first raven turn to be way shorter than the drop makes it literally impossible to valley.
10 yrs old: when I went on the ride, it stopped and I almost fell down but Jesus helped me.
I'm gonna say that this ride is a 100 times more scary then Nemesis.

It varies from 1 1/2-3 hours on a regular basis. Everytime I've been it's been at atleast the two hour mark. I usually ride X2 first or second.
it is a head banging ride. If you want to feel a real bad headache then this ride is peerect for you
im out then... looks awesome, but i get enough headaches as it is. thanks for saying that though about the headaches, wouldnt have known about the ride causing that. have a great evening.

The first time I went on this ride, I had fun. The year after, I came back, and for some reason it was shakier and rougher. Either my restraints were loose or something happened. I had a mini-concussion...not fun. :T
Next year, I'll be cautious, and make sure my restraints are tight, and that I'm not in the back row again.
x2 and gatekeeper look similar except gate's seats don't rotate. I think x2 is also taller and faster. Too bad cp doesn't have a flying coaster

@COASTERFORCE: are the seats free rotating like green lantern first flight ? it looks to me that the seats on X2 follow a precise pattern of spins which are amazingly working with the layout of the track.... if the seats are "not free spin" i think this is the craziest coaster ever designed (just thinking of the designers there going """mmmhh ok we have a vertical drop .. how do we want the people to be positioned ??"" INSANE CONCEPT !!!
They should make a 4th dimension coaster in Canada somewhere, cause that would make it sweet! Also, even though X2 is manufacturer by Arrow Dynamics, it looks like it was made by Vekoma. The two tracks look alike with each other. So, I think Vekoma needs to make a different sort of track than Arrow Dynamics.
S&S are making one that's similar to the old one, but gravity controls the spinning which is sweet. Quite like an Intamin ZacSpin.
Yeah, some people from Arrow Dynamics formed S&S Worldwide after Arrow Dynamics went bankrupt in 2002.
