Congrats on the buy - great choice. Not sure how long you intend to keep it but if you sell, you’ll be looking for the 850CSi instead. Check the UK E31 group for future meets. 👍😊
Thank you Lindsy! Yeah the 850 is the natural upgrade but I’d only swap if I find something in as good shape as this one.

👍 look forward to seeing your 840 soon. Just to add the 850CSi is not the same as the standard 850i/Ci. The CSi is the Motorsport version.
I’d rather have the 840 than the 850.

Hi James. I thoroughly enjoyed your video. I own a1997 840 and I perform all of the maintenance procedures myself, as these models can be very expensive to repair. Source your own parts as much as possible as well as doing your own work on the vehicle. Timm`s BMW Repairs and Information is a valuable source on RUclips. Absolutely gorgeous!...love the Orient Blue!....FYI: The BMW Business CD43 single disc cd player is an exact plug and play for this car - if you want to get rid of the cassette.

enjoy , had my first 840 for 14 years and just finishing my 850 , ps your brakes should not be trash , quite likely you need a new brake pressure accumulator , its a very common problem . great cars enjoy she is a peach . ps if you want a retro but new head unit check out "Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB - Retro 80's Style Classic Car Stereo Bluetooth MP3"
