Every time I watch this anime I can’t help but notice how during the golden age arc, griffith’s eyes ALWAYS seem to either be cold and icy or just fully malicious outside of a few interactions with the band of the hawk. He dosent have the eyes of a hero or a protagonist, he has, and always had, the eyes of a villain.
I know everything that Griffith did is unforgivable, but the spot he was in really makes me question the morality of what he did. He worked for more than a decade to reach his ambition, but Guts comes in and shakes his foundation in his ambition, making him risk his ambition for Guts. When Guts, leaves he seems agitated and looking for the smallest win he could and chose charlotte for it. Things go and he undergoes the worst fucking torture most people have heard of over the course of a year. He is then unable to walk, move, and move on his ambition. The eclipse is the only way he could gain his ambition. I'm not saying that he did nothing wrong but he was in a really tough spot, and what he did was the only way he could proceed on his ambitions.
