    Thank you so much for this video! I have been struggling finding any help guides from LEGO for the power up app and coding! Three minutes into your video. I figured out what I was doing wrong and it helped me tremendously, so thank you so much. I look forward to watching some of the other videos as well.

    @lisamarshall6001. Yes. Lego told me to watch this after I contacted them as I want to do exactly what you’re doing but I had no idea as to how to go about this and what abilities the system had. Lego themselves weren’t a lot of help just really said watch RUclips! Thankfully I watched this yesterday as the first vid. Many thanks to Mocerhead for his instructions.

    This is exactly what I will need once I finalize my LEGO layout. Thank you very much!
    At the moment I will be using one train only, but in my head I was looking for something to control two trains with one code only, and the power up app is quite cool as it manages both with the same code.
    I thought I had to time everything at perfection, but I am glad I can control the condition of one train based on the condition of another one.

      @@ianbenson5773 I’ve just used the standard curved rail pieces. If you’re tight on space you could just have a train running in a straight line back and forth. I made a video on how to do that too ruclips.net/video/SXux0Eto6pM/видео.htmlsi=X4AlL1HBhIYsVb1H

    Really helpful video. I’ve only just ‘discovered’ the powered-up coding so I’m trying out a few things for now and learning my way round it. The main issue I’m having is reliably sensing the colours in the correct place. It seems to pick up blue for every track sleeper and randomly sees yellow and green with shadows. Red is the only consistent colour at the moment. Do you know if there is a optimal distance for the sensor above the coloured plates?

    • @mocerhead8966
      @mocerhead8966  2 месяца назад +1

      @@kevwatson8787 I’ve not really come up with an optimal distance for the sensor, it’s usually dictated by the guts of the train of where I can mount it. I do have similar issues from show to show with colours not being picked up properly, this is usually because of lighting conditions. I have found red, green, and yellow reasonably reliable.

    • @kevwatson8787

      @ yeah, the lighting definitely makes a difference; natural sunlight seems to give better results than the electric lights.

    Hi mate, idk if you still answer coments but i have a question, im having some problems managing to put the sencor outside of the train, specificly in the 60197 set whitout breaking or cutting anything, i would apreceate your answer, keep up the good job

    • @mocerhead8966
      @mocerhead8966  2 месяца назад

      @@santa07_ Sorry for the delay in answering you. I had set 60197 but never added a colour sensor to it as I used the set for parts. But I’v had a look at the instructions and I think it can be done but with some modification. The sensor will fit in square holes in the train base, you’ll need a bracket 44728 and a 1x2 brick to mount it. I would remove the red tiles on the base to expose the second square hole and reroute the train motor lead through that. The bottom panel area between the wheels and motor will have to be modified or just totally removed to allow the colour sensor to be mounted. Hope this makes sense
