I don't watch movies. So, I watched this clip with Rebecca Ferguson only after having watched Loren Allred singing the song on Britain's Got Talent. It is so good to see real people, doing real singing, on a real stage, in front of real people, in real time. Thank you Loren Allred for revealing yourself. Rebecca actually sang it during filming. In order to catch the actual vocals when they overdubbed it with Allred's voice. That's why it looks flawless.

What a great uplifting movie in the mist of all the biased liberal media pushing hatred and Division and pointing out all the negatives or trying to make everything a negative.. almost constantly it seems.
Ursa you've nailed it in your description. While the vocals gives goosebumps, it's the eyes and subtle changes in the characters faces that draws you into the scene. The music for it's beauty then becomes secondary as the muted drama unfolds. The most memorable moment for me.
you can feel the pain that his wife felt when she realized he had found his ticket to fame and nothing could stop him. Jenny never tried to hide why she came to America and did all Barnum wanted her to. His wife saw that he was wrong and doing it all for the wrong reason. Oh my heart.

Technically, it's not Rebecca Ferguson's (actress portraying Jenny Lind) voice we are hearing - it's Loren Allred's voice, however Rebecca did actually sing the song while filming. She knew her voice wasn't going to be used, but she wanted to sing for authenticity of the moment - that lip syncing couldn't give her.
Don't be stupid. everyone knows it wasn't her voice. That's not uncommon. Rebecca Ferguson is an actress, not a singer.

This was one of Hugh Jackmans greatest acting performances ever. His facial expressions truly showed that his character had fallen in love with her voice and not her looks. Absolutely amazing. Bravo👏🏻
Your interpretation is absolutely right on! Rebecca’s character w/ “Alfred” but he is totally mesmerized with “HER VOICE!” His wife, sitting off to the side,is staring at the two of them, all of a sudden aware that her husband is spellbound by the sheer magic in Rebecca’s character’s voice! The sheer emotions between these two characters, had caught his wife by surprise, you can see & she can not look away from the intensity of those emotions, exploding with every second, Rebecca’s voice fills this theatre with her beautiful voice! She is clearly worried, not knowing exactly what has captivated her husband but she can see & feel it herself in her husband that she loves so very much!This is such a heart stopping moment, watching his wife’s sudden apprehension, over this new “European sensation”, who curiously has cast a “ magic spell” as Jenny Lind’s voice , fills this theatre with her beautiful voice! You can see she is clearly afraid, wondering if her husband has awe or some kind of newfound “love”( it is not “love”but of course his wife has no way of knowing that & clearly apprehensive)for Jenny Lind. This is another extraordinary moment( this amazing movie is full of them!) in this film! Wish it had win an Oscar & actors all had won awards( especially Rebecca & Hugh!)!
He did not fall in love he was captivated and enthralled by the possibility of earning more for his theater with this muse. He also see himself in her burning with ambition.

In watching this film I was mesmerized from beginning to end. When it came time in the movie for this scene, from the first note I was captivated. My, oh, my, Ms. Ferguson's performance of this song is impeccable. Loren Allred's vocals stirred my soul. The Greatest Showman is a tribute to all show business -- a creation on film that will stand as a milepost in the early 21st Century. I truly enjoy reliving this moment here on RUclips. I am eager to purchase this movie on DVD. I salute the players, singers, production teams and the directors. Wow!

Incredible, absolutely incredible acting. Might I add that the dress she is wearing is exceptionally beautiful.
I don't really care for musicals. I go to musical plays because my wife likes them and I Love her. I rented this movie for her and watched it with her. Transformative is the best way to describe what this movie has done to me. I feel like I have been introduced to a new form of art, where perfect script, perfect score, perfect directing, perfect acting and perfect musical performance has combined to produce something that feels like it comes from the hand of God. Simply sublime and I want more of this. If that is even possible.

Listening to this song being sung & the incredible acting skills by both Rebecca( pretending to sing this) & Hugh is “NEVER ENOUGH FOR ME”, either! The way Rebecca slips a “look” at Hugh’s character in the beginning of this song ( her eyes look at him with such “meaning & love”), as slowly an incredible awe comes across Hugh as he listens to her sing, his eyes filling with tears of awe! The very end of the song, when the character Jenny, looks about the audience for the standing ovation & she surveys it carefully, turning & locking eyes with Barnum( Hugh) for mere seconds, the love she has for him, just bursts from her very being! He is flabbergasted & overwhelmed with thousands of emotions overwhelming him as they stare in awe of one another. Meanwhile his “wife “, standing to the side has been watching this exchange between the two of them develop & you can see a real fear of loosing him briefly cross her face! What acting on all three of these main character’s part! How they did not win best actors & best movie ( even this song should have been nominated, although I understand the other song in this movie won award for best song but wish these deserving actors all had won in their respective category. Zendaya & Zac’s acting in this sequence was extraordinary too but I will never forget this particular part in the movie! Absolutely incredible acting & singing! Love this movie!❤️

Unfortunately Loren lost on America's Got Talent. I made a promise to myself to never watch it again. The year before another newly married man sang Creep and he did a fabulous performance...better than the original...then lost to an acrobat. Too many flying humans on AGT now and disturbing. Can it possibly be fixed? No other answers.

Even though they weren't talking you could read what they were saying - He was like "Ugh, they're watching" when she was like "So what?" And that moment he stopped holding her hand she was like "Are you serious!?" and he was thinking like "Damn it!" Or like "Sorry" - I've heard that song for a million times but still there's always this magic of the voice, the song and the scences giving me goosebumps!

Such a powerful scene. So much going on. The handholding between Zendaya and Zac - then letting go when the parents noticed. The facial expressions on Hugh. Barnums wife noticing....
And last but not least the way the sound technicians made it sound like she was further away when the focus was on the back of the room (the handholding scene). Great sound editing!
