Even though she didn't sing the song she played the role very well.
However she is singing! lol she learned the song to act it! 😊 watch the behind the scenes of this movie. They were always going to use Lauren’s over her voice. That’s why Lauren re-recorded it to sound so breathy and emotional from the original. You learn so much and realize how much talent went into all these original songs and the choreography with it

Didn't see this movie until after it was on steaming but this never got the recognition it deserves. Much better than many movie came out the same year. People still sings the songs where as who sing songs from LaLaLa land?
All the parts of this scene came together perfectly, the song, the storyline’s, the moments etc but it was Jackman’s performance that brought everything together with those facial expressions and perfectly timed gasps that made it all. I’ve never experienced the fullness of a scene before, Jackman squeezed all the juice out of this 🍋 one. Absolutely incredible!
Jesus Christ can we talk about the acting for a minute? Hugh's reaction when he hears her sing, Michelle looking at him then at Jenny like her marriage is endangered, Zac's reaction after he lets go of Zendaya's hand, like you can see how he's feeling by just looking at his eyes. Oh my god, incredible.

I think when he looks at her, he isn't falling in love. He's seeing his ticket to grandeur and acceptance from high society that he never had growing up. That's why it was such a red flag to his wife. The one thing that could threaten her relationship with him was his need for validation.
So true! She knows him better than anyone, and can tell that his ambition and need for acceptance will cause him to lose sight of what's truly important: happiness and family. He was always so adamant on giving her the life that she had before she had married him, but he didn't realize that it wasn't what she wanted. All she wanted was to share "a million dreams" with him, and to find happiness. She was never very happy in her swanky childhood home. Plus, it becomes obvious later on that he never had any romantic feelings for Jenny.

Yes ! I felt the same way. It blew me away when I discovered it wasn't her voice. She truly imagined herself singing it as if she really was and it shows. Rebecca Ferguson is an incredible actress and highly underrated. Loren Allred is the singer and with such a gorgeous, stunning voice. Her singing carreer should have taken off more than it has. Both didn't get much recognition for their phenominal performances in my opinion. What they pulled off to create this scene together was extraordinary and one of a kind.

Long ago I chose Jenny Lind, "the Swedish Nightingale", as the subject of my report for music class. I really enjoyed learning about her. The endless superlatives that I encountered in all of my research were striking. This scene from The Greatest Showman really brought home what a sublime and ageless singer she must have been. I am grateful to the people who made this movie for bringing her alive for our generation.
It's so sad that there are recordings of Jenny Lind singing. Sometimes greatness comes before technology can capture the moment in time.
It's the combination of the voice of the actual sinher and and the acting skill of the actress that made this performance amazing.

OK, she didn't sing the song, BUT, this has to be one of the most convincing lip-syncs I've seen, Rebecca Ferguson did an INCREDIBLE job making it look real. Her and Loren are both amazing in this. And I'm fairly sure Rebecca sang the last two notes, that sounds very live.

@Demyah Charles - Do some simple research. Rebecca Ferguson was NOT lip syncing. She is a capable singer, just not a professional. It was in her contract that she would fully be singing with the orchestra for the filming. NO Sound is ever captured at that time, if you know anything how movies are made and produced. ( its called Sound Editing) Loren Allred singing/voice for this song was edited in, her singing to match Rebecca Fergusons acting on film.

Even if you haven’t seen this movie, there is so much unspoken “dialog” in this scene. It is amazing.
The song itself is more amazing than all of that silent acting. The acting in the scene just enhanced the song. Actually the soundtrack for the film was an even bigger success than the film. The soundtrack for "Greatest Showman" went platinum only 3 months after the release of the movie in the theaters and was the best-selling album of 2018. That's very rare for a film soundtrack to be the best-selling album of the year.

It's just saddening to know that so many people didn't know that Loren Allred was the voice behind this incredible song. Kudos to the actress for portraying this so realistically. I still get goosebumps watching this.

@@sarahgracey8657 Rebecca Ferguson didn’t sing in Never Enough. They had a different singer, Loren Allred, go into a recording studio and record herself singing Never Enough then they used the recording of Loren Allred singing in the movie instead of having Rebecca sing it.
Because Loren Allred singing voice is way better than Rebecca Ferguson? For sure Rebecca is a good actress in the said movie.

I've seen a lot of her on-stage performance videos too prior to BGT. She may have toured with DF, but it still didn't get her enough of the attention her talent truly deserves. And the way she presents herself on stage is very professional. She deserves that spotlight in any way. Her talent could speak for it. I hope she really gets it. Lauren is one of the greatest voices out there waiting to be recognized. I hope she gets her chance this time.
