I have made many things in bones with my homemade pantograph cutter, so it was obvious to try with the small 3018 CNC machine.
The machine has no problems cutting through bone, even at high speeds, but if it has to be cut from both sides so that a cut occurs, the construction is not rigid enough. The problem is solved by setting the speed all the way down and only cutting very thin sections, In the video I use the setting in Easel for aluminum and 0.2 mm. in layers and then the machine does the job just fine.
The plate has a thickness of 1.6 mm. and I cut 0.9 mm. from both sides.

Would you mind sharing the Easel file you used to make this? Thanks

Bone is not a material I would have thought of. Artificial Ivory can be DIY now. POM or white Delrin is popular in DIY keyboard crowd.

I think it is a really good material to mill and have done a lot. I used it a lot when I built my pantograph cutters.
