    I think the most disappointing part of this is that for years they were building ridiculously overpowered vehicles, and THAT was the US vs them mentality. What they are doing now is the DEFINITION of capitulation. 😒

      Y'all are so pigheaded in your ways cause you're afraid to let go of stuff. Most people drive bone stock cars. therefore, the ev fits nice for them. As a huge gearhead myself ev's just means a new Era of hot rodding and cooler vehicles. Maybe as fans of ICE, y'all should look up the federal laws for your automobiles. You'll be appalled by what you find.

    • @ReignitedAuto
      @ReignitedAuto  11 месяцев назад +3

      @dylanromine4101 you have to understand, I also own stock vehicles as well, and I completely agree that having an EV for a daily makes a lot of sense. Where the disconnect is: don't take away my fun vehicles that I only drive occasionally. Those don't need to be EV, they barely run for any length of time at all so it's not like they are polluting anything. Dodge muscle cars are those vehicles. The rest of the industry can make that shift if they want, leave my fun cars alone.

    • @dylanromine4101

      @@dylanromine4101 nothing to do with being pig headed and everything to do with taking choices away. There's nothing wrong with electric vehicles, just forcing it on the masses that don't want them is the problem.
      I would love to get the I6 variant but they will have to do better than stuffing it in a vehicle that's 1" larger than the outgoing platform, and likely heavier to get me to buy one. I was waiting for the I6 since it was a rumor and I was hopeful that they would put it in a smaller sedan or coupe but I got tired of waiting. so I traded my challenger in for a Durango and bought a BMW m240i for my fun car, and it looks like I made the right choice.

    EVs suck. Having learned to drive in cars fitted with manual brakes and bias ply tires coupled with the ability to roast tires at will with simply mashing the pedal to the floor, nothing fitted with electric motors compares. Too much nanny crap these days where you have to request the car shift from park to drive through a computer is ridiculous. Nothing compares to a Hemi or BBC when the pedal is mashed. The sound alone was worth the price of admission.
    And yes, there was a time when us kids jump bicycles on homemade wood ramps without wearing helmets. We somehow managed to survive those stunts and of course we drank water from a garden hose too.

I wished we would have gotten a 392 Ram 1500, I would have bought a four wheel drive version. I am patient enough to see the 5 year window. I seen this coming the moment that all the supercharged cars started hitting 600 horse and prices hovering around 50k. I am a bigger fan of the late 60s to the mid 70s cars and trucks.

    Mopar brands have been buying EPA credits from other manufacturers(mainly Tesla) for YEARS to make up for the poor MPG of the entire portfolio. This is due to the Hemi and not having a large enough volume of small econo cars. I'm sure those credits were a huge expense and I heard elsewhere that Stellantis is committed to no longer buying credits, which means they have to make some radical changes.
    In a way, the EV Charger is still something that doesn't follow the traditional EV build because they are typically built with efficiency being top priority. Also, how many two-door EV's are there really out there? IMO, the majority of Dodge owners don't buy them just to have "a car" they are after something with soul and a personality(something Kuniskis did touch on). It is the one thing that still sets them apart from the rest of the manufacturers.

I think it is cool that they didn't make something like the prius and gave it some real power.. Especially hate your title, i fear you are trying to not alienate the "V8 only" crowd but i thought you were smarter than that. I'm now thinking that i should take everything you say with a grain of salt. Sure the mustang showed a really cool concept. They also have an electric mustang suv. That concept likely wont see the light of day and if it does it will be super low numbers because ... they have to keep the averages to avoid financial penalties. it would have been nice to show some Demon like concept but i actually prefer they put the effort into the electric if that is going to be the only option in the future and something i am way more likely to purchase. I cant get a demon but maybe i can get the banshee.

      I understand what you're saying, but my issue here is that Tim is desperately trying to convince us that dodge is still a badass brand, and that they are super excited about this EV vehicle and you should be too! That's crap and he knows it. There's nothing that irritates me more than people trying to manipulate how I feel about something. You'll note that I am excited about the hurricane offering I think those are going to be really neat vehicles that will make a lot of power very soon, and can be made to sound pretty good with some modifications. I think a far as my video title goes it does reflect the way I feel. I genuinely thought they might have sneaked in a surprise offering of the Hellcat version, but it's clear they've completely cut the cord on that. Also, not sure if you saw the video from dodge, but there a short bit there where he talks about how muscle car owners don't calculate fuel mileage, basically he's saying the range on these EV offerings is going to be absolute garbage. Notice how we haven't gotten any details on that at all yet. I'm a fan of new tech, I truly am, but don't tell me "that I need to support dodge even though we don't make things you want anymore." Sorry that sort of thing really bothers me as you can tell. The good news for dodge though is that I'm not their target market. I can't afford to buy a new dodge, I can only work on them 😄.
