The rest of the industry can make that shift if they want, leave my fun cars alone.

I would love to get the I6 variant but they will have to do better than stuffing it in a vehicle that's 1" larger than the outgoing platform, and likely heavier to get me to buy one. I was waiting for the I6 since it was a rumor and I was hopeful that they would put it in a smaller sedan or coupe but I got tired of waiting. so I traded my challenger in for a Durango and bought a BMW m240i for my fun car, and it looks like I made the right choice.

Handling new engine by other components (ABS, IC, collision prevention, etc.) is also a big deal for daily driver, and so on. I'm pretty sure that there will be more than one build of that kind as a project, but making it *by design* is a whole different level.
Cant say where i work the max hurricane twin turbo twin we've set it 720HP Issue is the fuel mapping they are refusing to accept . Stellantis wants a mapping that will have Pistons changing themselves, also they do have a NA straight 6 tune of 375HP

I do like the fact that it is available as a 2 door and that the grill is trying to look more '68-'70. I'm not a fan of going electric. If the Hurricane platform turns out, over time, to be as solid as it is said be it will be good but, it will never be a hemi. I agree in that I wish a hemi option as still possible.

EVs suck. Having learned to drive in cars fitted with manual brakes and bias ply tires coupled with the ability to roast tires at will with simply mashing the pedal to the floor, nothing fitted with electric motors compares. Too much nanny crap these days where you have to request the car shift from park to drive through a computer is ridiculous. Nothing compares to a Hemi or BBC when the pedal is mashed. The sound alone was worth the price of admission. And yes, there was a time when us kids jump bicycles on homemade wood ramps without wearing helmets. We somehow managed to survive those stunts and of course we drank water from a garden hose too.
Very Interested in the HO I6....but man oh man am i worried about reliability. It took bmw several years to get the I6 right after many many years of issues.

My understanding of the regulations and fines involved is that the Dodge brand is in a much worse position than Ford because of the comparative efficiency of their whole portfolio over the last 20ish years as well as a sort of "repeat offender" status. I think it would be substantially more $ for Dodge to have a V8 than for Ford (or possibly GM)
Mopar brands have been buying EPA credits from other manufacturers(mainly Tesla) for YEARS to make up for the poor MPG of the entire portfolio. This is due to the Hemi and not having a large enough volume of small econo cars. I'm sure those credits were a huge expense and I heard elsewhere that Stellantis is committed to no longer buying credits, which means they have to make some radical changes. In a way, the EV Charger is still something that doesn't follow the traditional EV build because they are typically built with efficiency being top priority. Also, how many two-door EV's are there really out there? IMO, the majority of Dodge owners don't buy them just to have "a car" they are after something with soul and a personality(something Kuniskis did touch on). It is the one thing that still sets them apart from the rest of the manufacturers.
They can pound sand... The management are not "car" people, they are corporate A holes trying to get their annual bonus, nothing more. With the exception of a select few (former head of SRT) there is no one there that gives 2 craps about performance or even style. #1 concern is reduce overhead and increase profit. Fortunately they made a crap ton of Hemi powered vehicles from which we can still get power plants.

Im disappointed with the Charger reveal. Its clear Dodge/Stellantis does not care about its existing customer base such as myself. At this point, when im done with my manual Scat Pack I would look at a Mustang GT manual. I dont want a tubo six cylinder car and I certainly dont want an EV. Ive had six cylinder sports cars from Japan before I bought my Scat Pack and I have no plan to drive anything other than a V8.
I love the v8 hemi too but i'm a realist that the regulations are such that they can no longer continue down that path. I think it is cool that they didn't make something like the prius and gave it some real power.. Especially hate your title, i fear you are trying to not alienate the "V8 only" crowd but i thought you were smarter than that. You'll note that I am excited about the hurricane offering I think those are going to be really neat vehicles that will make a lot of power very soon, and can be made to sound pretty good with some modifications. I think a far as my video title goes it does reflect the way I feel. I genuinely thought they might have sneaked in a surprise offering of the Hellcat version, but it's clear they've completely cut the cord on that. Also, not sure if you saw the video from dodge, but there a short bit there where he talks about how muscle car owners don't calculate fuel mileage, basically he's saying the range on these EV offerings is going to be absolute garbage. Notice how we haven't gotten any details on that at all yet. I'm a fan of new tech, I truly am, but don't tell me "that I need to support dodge even though we don't make things you want anymore." I am gonna be in the market for a new car in the next year. I finally have enough disposable income that I can get something I want, into something I can “just afford” and I was strongly eyeballing a new challenger. With them going electric I guess that’s out the window. I guess I’ll either have to look at a used one or some other model. I Pretty disappointed about it.

I thought the point was more power, if the scat pack ev is beating all hellcats I don’t care about the V8 and this is coming from a widebody charger scat pack owner. Yeah they took away the hemi but they giving you power and I got to believe they will boost the inline 6 in the near future to make a hellcat variant so I’m excited for what’s coming.
Don't like it. EV or not, it looks too much like a Challenger. One of the things I loved was the sharp distinction between the Charge and a Challenger. Now you will have to look twice. Kind of like... is that a Camaro or a Mustang?? =)

I won’t buy an other dodge or ram without it having the hemi those new hurricane engines are going to be a night mare to work on and expensive but then you also have to use 4.00 dollar a gallon premium gas
I am gonna be in the market for a new car in the next year. I finally have enough disposable income that I can get something I want, into something I can “just afford” and I was strongly eyeballing a new challenger. With them going electric I guess that’s out the window. I guess I’ll either have to look at a used one or some other model. I

I thought the point was more power, if the scat pack ev is beating all hellcats I don’t care about the V8 and this is coming from a widebody charger scat pack owner. Yeah they took away the hemi but they giving you power and I got to believe they will boost the inline 6 in the near future to make a hellcat variant so I’m excited for what’s coming.

Don't like it. EV or not, it looks too much like a Challenger. One of the things I loved was the sharp distinction between the Charge and a Challenger. Now you will have to look twice. Kind of like... is that a Camaro or a Mustang?? =)
