Eddie is the BADDEST!! I gotta say Eddie Alvarez is the reason I decided to change my life. I've poured concrete for 25yrs, and I weighed as much as 287lbs at one time! Following Eddie's journey has inspired me to get into the best shape I can, I now lift weights 4-5dys a week and weigh 210lbs! I feel great about where I am now and am very proud of what I've achieved. Thank you, Eddie, for being so dedicated and open with your path! Let's get some mud on the ground in Kentucky, brother!!
@karnhall Thanks so much! You're the second person that's responded to my comment with positivity, and I gotta say, I didn't expect that at all in this day and time of internet trolls and cowardice
For sure! Imagine a UFC 300 card: Islam vs Oliveira - LW title Gaethje vs McGregor - BMF title Alvarez vs Chandler 3 Poirier vs Nate Diaz Fiziev vs BSD Lightweight extravaganza 💥💥
Blame Dana White, Eddie wanted to do the trilogy fight with Chandler, but Chandler is now a Dana "golden boy" and was set up with the UFC show vs. Team McGregor and is still waiting on a fight with Connor, maybe if Chandler loses to Conor(who hasn't won in 5 years), maybe we'll see Dana let Chandler fight Eddie , since Eddie will be pushing 40 by then .
Hate that Eddie feels the need to justify them stopping it. All of these guys are a different breed, but Eddie owes the fans absolutely nothing. He's given us nothing but exciting fights the last 2 decades.
He tries to "justify" it because there's a ton of knuckleheads out there even pros saying he quit or he didn't want to keep fighting. Blah blah blah. Thats why
I find it amazing how fast Eddie recovered from a broken orbital, and serious damage. Even though he was physically smaller than Perry, he was beating him convincingly in the first and second round. But Perry prevailed, shows why he is crowned The King of Violence. ee.
Eddie was winning the fight first 2 rds imo . It would’ve been interesting to see how remaining 3 rds would’ve been and if Perry would’ve been able to take them punches for 5 rds . Eddie had great game plan is always a legend
He’s a legend a true role model and sportsman. Love how he is well spoken, fair, AND TRUTHFUL….not some puffed up fighter BS blowing smoke. That’s a campion and he’s got heart!
Absolut Legend Eddie🤛after owning Mike Perry in the first two rounds such bad luck to have to stop the way the fight was stopped.. Perry is a beast but how much damage can that dude take? Hoping for a possible second bout.. and a W for Eddie
Eddie's always a good interview. Truly 1 of the greats in and out of the cage. A true Champion in all Top Promotions. Your favorite fighter's favorite fighter. #55King #UndergroundKing
It's definitely growing on me as well... it kind of has that UFC in the early to mid 2000s feel imo but there's a lot more action and it's more brutal in a visual sense.
Eddie is the only fighter that I make sure to see every fight that I can (Japan was tough, always had to youtube it til the last 2 fights in One. I first met Eddie when I was bartending and his friends were drinking there all night, and then i saw Eddie(in his Underground days) sleeping in the back. I thought he was just drunk and was going to wake him up and tell him if hes that drunk, hes gotta go home to sleep), here a couple mutual friends grabbed me and said he hasn't even drank, hes been in training for a fight in AC in 2 weeks. Then I went down to AC 2 weeks later and saw him knock someone out in Rd 1, and have seen about 20-25 fights since. Noone can go from the verge of losing to knocking someone out faster than Eddie. Maybe best chin in MMA history. McGregor KO was his worst fight, and I think if Eddie was the challenger, it would have went differently.
Totally agree with his critique of the sports. I reckon BK will be huge as a spectator sport; the action, speed, opportunity for a fight to turn on a dime, more direct then MMA...reckon this has the edge on MMA
Never really thought of it like that, but even after knowing the results the fight I found myself more involved than I do with some MMA fights. Action packed for sure. This is from someone who thought BKFC wasn’t gonna be around for a long time. These fights are amazing.
I started watching MMA at the end of the 90s. It was awesome to watch but it became so boring. Nowadays every fighter is virtually the same. It became so clean. So tamed. BK is way more entertaining nowadays.
I reckon they're pretty brutal which might keep athletes (and spectators) away but this also means that it's a certain breed that you get to watch. @@keshontruitt3935
Can't take anything away from Eddie.. absolute legend and a true warrior. He is embellishing what happened in the corner cause a lot of ppl don't know what happened, not even the announcers. Eddie said i can't see, the corner either didn't hear it or didn't want to hear it. He said it again and one of cornermen said that's it one of them wanted to continue but they called it.
Eddie says Mike didn't know the correct weight and mistakenly cut an extra pound that he didn't have to cut because his coach told him the wrong weight. I don't think that's accurate because Mike talked about it before the fight and said that he was intentionally cutting that extra pound because he was viewing it as a championship fight and wanted to make championship weight. Mike did it intentionally, not accidentally.
Eddie has been my favorite for years. Hes my backyard/hometown guy. But hes also one of the most entertaining fighters to Grace Gods earth. Sadly I knew mike was too durable. But he did almost drop mike so I was surprised a little. God bless em both.
Don’t make excuses you got dealt with . You could see when you was landing punches . Tbh you and Mike are both true warriors but let’s be honest the best man on the night won . IMHO .
Honestly I would rather watch a rematch between Eddie and Perry, than like Dillon Danis vs Perry. Eddie had a very good fight until the fracture, so it would be interesting to see if he can do different when his orbital is healed. If Dillon Danis fought Perry I already know the fight is over in 1 Minute 😂

I think Eddie fought at a weight WAY over his weight class(he's never fought near 176(Im surprised he even bulked up to it. Theres a big difference when your knocking someone out who is 155/165, than someone who has to cut weight 10+lbs to get to 176, and your adding 10-15 to get there
