I honestly never heard of Mike Perry until I watched bare knuckle boxing with my grandpa and saw one of his fights, instantly hooked and realized this is a sport where boxers are separated from killers.
What do you think about Boxing as a sport in general no matter the generations ? Sugar Ray Robinson, Gene Fullmer, Alexis Arguello, Roberto Duran, Carlos Monzon, Jake Lamotta, Mike Tyson, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano etc ... ? I mean, do you think any of those Boxers would have done well in Bare Nuckle ? I tend to think so .. Because Bare Knuckle is a form of Boxing right ? I would have liked the likes Errol Spence or Gennady Golovkin to do Bare Knuckle for one fight .. Errol has a video on youtube where he is bare handed with another Guy ..
i’ve listened to most of the 2000 plus episodes and this one was absolutely brutal. Either Mike has SEVERE TBI or the communication skills of an elementary school student.
I've attempted to join bare knuckle, went to a tryout but arrived four hours late. I was driving from new york to new mexico so my timing collapsed along the way. I arrived at the end of the tryout, but they allowed me to tryout anyway. I was in a strange personal state of mind, and tired. I just quit my job by walking out a week before. The tryout was not what i expected, and after the travel and battles i was having inside, i was not up for it. They made me take my shirt off and pose for pics. Then i was interviewed by leonard garcia. I couldnt think well, or answer well. I was then asked to shadow box for 7 minutes before hitting a heavy bag for 3 minutes. There were multiple fighters and people with nothing left to do but watch this one guy left. John Dodson was watching, Garcia, and other i don't remember. I was so reluctant. After about a minute, i stopped. I said im sorry, everything feels so wrong, i cannot perform like this. John Dodson asked me what was the matter, he was very supportive but man....i was just so defeated. I had nothing in me for them. I failed myself, but it was strange. Nobody was mean or thought i was an idiot, i think in a way they understood something was honestly off for me. This took place on donald cerrones ranch/home. He was there, i walked past him on the way in, he had a beer and was talking to a crowd of prospects. After all that, the scene was wrapping up, i sort of wandered about, played with donalds dog a bit. I was also in a bad situation, i was broke, was using a credit card for money, i left it at a gas station somewhere 400 miles away. I called the boss i quit on for help but he was not willing, so i found donald cerrone and asked if i could do some work to get money to go home. He said meet me in a bit by the saloon he built and we will talk. I was then sitting on the porch, garcia was still there, donald and other people and his family. He made me tell my story of what happened, and they all sat and listened as i was interviewed by Donald. I explained my situation, somewhat of my life turmoil, and we talked about this amd that as well. He actually told me off about being not a man for failing to get here on time, which was almost fighting words the way he said it, but i explained i had to wait last minute for my last paycheck before leaving. He was satisfied with that i guess. He got up and walked away, came back with $400 cash and handed it to me. He said i could take a shower but they are all leaving soon so i have to also go soon. I cleaned up and said my goodbyes. I have not had the opportunity to try out again, as they have not come close to my area in awhile. It is still a goal of mine, and i will pay donald back on my first prize fight check.
Love that he's finding this success and I love bare knuckle because it's what I grew up viewing as fighting, we always thought kicking and wrestling was not real street fighting and it was all about your hands.
Joe kept making it sound like all these fighters would beat Perry in anything but bareknuckle. He kept wording it in certain ways... Perry picked up on that and that is why he said "yea but I also had the same edge" "yes but I figured out how to punch bareknuckle" "Ya but I also know jiu-jitsu" "ya but i can fight in anything".
Saw him knock out Danny 'Hot Chocolate' Roberts live in Manchester at UFC 204 a few years ago... he had really good, powerful energy then and has come so far now!! I wish Mike the best, but also his family, so I hope he will prioritise his long term health and prosperity and retire at the right time, for them 🙏💖 Big up, Platinum! ✌️👑🌟
well there's lethwei. traditional sport from burma. fighters fight bareknuckle and can clinch, punch, kick, knee, elbow, and headbutt. its brutal but entertaining.

Because Bare Knuckle is a form of Boxing right ? I would have liked the likes Errol Spence or Gennady Golovkin to do Bare Knuckle for one fight .. Errol has a video on youtube where he is bare handed with another Guy ..
Love Perry! He brings great energy and entertainment to combat sports!
i’ve listened to most of the 2000 plus episodes and this one was absolutely brutal. Either Mike has SEVERE TBI or the communication skills of an elementary school student.
Maybe you’re just inexperienced in life
I had difficulties watching this Episode for sure. @peezyp1360
Definitely tbi but nah he's from Flint
CTE
You are right, I think he is just a reta** with low iq. It makes sense
He might not be intelligent when it comes to the books but he’s intelligent when it comes to the hooks
love the honest rawness and grit of Perry....he's a BAMF!!
Mike Perry is both a warrior and a great guy 💯% proper lovable rogue 👊🏼
My favorite African American fighter.
mike perry taking the pain to give his family a better life. At least he aint on welfare.big props for being a real man!
I read “Transitioning” and got scared crazy world we are living in
I enjoy listening to Mike Perry, brother is real
Mike Perry is the mfn man!!
He’ll never be looked at like Tyson. But he is an animal.
Tyson over rated as fuck he fought mostly cans
tyson would have killed people in bare knuckle.
I was skeptical about Mike in BKFC but he really is thriving there now
I've attempted to join bare knuckle, went to a tryout but arrived four hours late.
Get after it man, if your story is true it's a cool one. I wish the best for you bro.
Go get it dude u got it!
I wish Mike the best, but also his family, so I hope he will prioritise his long term health and prosperity and retire at the right time, for them 🙏💖
Big up, Platinum! ✌️👑🌟
Mike “the Nigerian nightmare” perry.
Platinum Mike Perry 💪💎
Yea for sure. I remember going into a boxing ring as a kid as a street fighter. Total new world. Good interview.
I always loved Mikes fights
Love Mike 💯....there's a fighter
Imagine a sport where punching, elbowing , clinching and head butting are allowed but no kicking ,kneeing or grappling ! That’d be dope
Basically upper body only and no lower body? Interesting 🤔
Gawdamn, bro.. Headbutting someone in the face, whooeeew... See you in the afterlife, son!!
well there's lethwei. traditional sport from burma. fighters fight bareknuckle and can clinch, punch, kick, knee, elbow, and headbutt. its brutal but entertaining.
Mike Perry is really very easy to understand
Most men are
Hes relatable. Anybody growing up with real tough guys know people just like him
I was bummed out when Perry was dropped from ufc but super happy that he’s finding success somewhere else
Always loved Perry he’s the only bare knuckle fighter I’ll watch
It'll be sad to see CTE(brain damage) take him. Mike Perry is a legend.
It's on its way
Might be less? With no gloves? Then again they still wrap and go for knockouts. Compared to old english boxing.
@@dylan.-6527 If he is willing to head-butt your fist then maybe it's not as brain-damaging.
I have major respect for Perry, not because he is a ruthless fighter who’s ready to fight till death every time he steps in, that’s good and all, but before all this he had all the hallmarks to pull a “War Machine” stunt, I am happy that didn’t happen, bless him and all the people around him who love and support him. Keep it up Mike!
That’s what happens when u get with a mexican lol
