Thank you for all the helpful information! I would like to give a tip in return. When stacking food, if you have multiple items of different "freshness", when you alt+click one to put them in storage from your inventory they are all set to the same freshness as the one you clicked on. However, when you single click a stack to move an item from storage to your inventory, all units under the first one will be full freshness. You can actually reset the freshness to full on all of your food this way by taking two individual items from storage and then alt+clicking the one with full freshness.
Hey Kristi, i did not know about the turn on and off to save the change in storage so thank u for that. On the other hand ''i can be wrong'' i think the first number like 00-00 is for what they cant use. And the last number is for what they can store. So 10-100 would be workers leave 10 in storage that they cant take or use and 100 is max they can deposit in that storage. Atleast that is what i have learned about 2-3 weeks ago.
Thanks Levi! I don't know that they won't take items if they need them for crafting and it would take it under the minimum of 10. But if they or you do, then they will try to get it back up to 10. Would be an interesting test to do or maybe I'll ask a dev. Thanks for your comment.
@@GamingwithKristi Well it worked for me like that a couple weeks ago. But now that i play in co-op with Huckster and others i see that this function dont work no more. Or maybe its the Hotfix from June 1. Its confusing.
Speaking of food spoiling. Yes if all ur food in ur backpack is about to spoil u can place all of them to storage that way only the top food will retain the spoil but the remaining with reset back to full duration. Take them out afterwards.
I have been thinking of doing this... Main base but composed of different settlements, that way i can control worker more specifically especially storages ad prevent these "overflow". 3 for cooking with 1 storage, 3 for lumber with 1 storage, 3 for farming with 1 storage 3 for crafting with 1 storage etc. This will make multiple bandit raid progressions but itll be fine coz im also thinking about making a guard post(settlement) with idle people but equipped with gears in front of my base or where the bandits go through so they will always pass by my guards whenever they raid. If multiple raids happen i can always do it by myself. Problem is always food. We still dont have control on which food and how many foods can they eat. They always will fill up all 3 food slots if theres any multiple foods in the storage. And they will always eat everything even ur meats when u need those more for combat companions. Devs should add that feature so we can control which food is allowed to eat and not.
Explaining further on the guard post, im thinking all archers then fence around their settlement so no bandits can enter their post while theyre free to hit them when they can. Not sure how thisll work but itll be a fun experiment. (if only theres a platform for these to stand on. I wish the guard post can be used by guards to stand on especially archers)
Also when u trade with other villages the items are randomly stored to ur barns. So i dont have a base as my main settlemet except for private stuff and 1 storage for village trading.
Greetings from the future. I don't think that toggle on/off storage filter fix is needed anymore. I did some testing with and without doing that and it seems to work fine now.
For the farm I disable all the planting options. They will hoe, water, weed and harvest if the main priority is not disabled. Then you can fertilize and plant as much of a thing as you want.
I do that too so I can better control how much of each thing is being grown by doing all the seeds myself. U mentioned fertilizing, I have a few chests at my farms full of fertilizer but it never gets used. how do u use fertilizer or have ur people use it?
@@LordTruespirit If you have fertilizer in your inventory, after the spot has been hoed, you will get a press"f" option to add fertilizer above the seeds. Increases the grow time and yield. I did notice the yield increase but didn't time the growth. Edit: I'm also unsure if the AI uses it or not. I didn't test at the time and was frustrated with how it planted so I had disabled the seeding.
I liberated all villages, no more quests spawning. Is this it until it isn’t in early access anymore? Just trying to make sure I’m not missing anything
For troubleshooting you can also check to make sure the designated storage is not full!

Glad it helped!

Interesting. The dev vid they put out day before yesterday told ppl to do it also...
yep as soon as i realized the off switch is just a faster way of clicking everything on that I need about 2weeks ago I was no longer annoyed
Awesome. Yeah, that's a really handy bit of info there. =)

They are going to be doing content updates along the way to the full relase.
opposite of the cheese, make multiple villages to encourage MORE RAIDS
