Captain, got an obvious idea for BGWSS: build only beautiful-looking, symmetrical bases, make art with your buildings, because optimisation is overrated and winning with style and fashion is the real endgame of Starcraft 2, you're a protoss player after all, you should love shiny stuff. Of course you will need followers and audience to appreciate your architecture - invite an opponent to your base, he has to see it in one way or another.
f2 would have helped since it would have gotten his observers into the correct position earlier in the game. Also, AsFrog seems to be the only Protoss player than doesn't transition into Skytoss :P Obviously, I'm being hyperbolic, but some people will take my statement at face value, so here's my disclaimer
Can we take a moment to appreciate Asfrog not having a clue about the terran's 4th until the 6th popped up? And who builds swarms of observers, an ex-zerg player? Just keep one in the back in observer mode and the other with the army. Get a sentry or two against BCs, Guardian Shield works wonders.
I wonder at what league you learn that you can build more than one type of unit. You know, getting something that hard counters your opponents army. Because in the last two silver league videos everyone is oddly insistent to build only one or two types of units, never ever getting anything else.
Though ironically, in this game, the mass stalkers would have been perfectly fine if he didn’t just walk into mines all game and clog up his main with buildings making it impossible to defend against the bcs.
To be fair, that's obviously Hamster! After all, the recommended searches are in German (and Hamster is German as far as I am aware^^). So maybe we should judge the one behind the camera this time... But to Hamster: Genial gemacht!
4:36 not a huge thing, but your talking about the protoss first unit being built late, right after watching a zealot chase the matine through the main.
Your more recent IODIS have been fun. Seemed like you were getting frustrated with some older submissions, but maybe these low level games have you enjoying the format again.
Carriers with their interceptor pew pew against Battlecruisers with their mini pew pew? LOL Carbot made a video about that XD Voidrays would have already countered the Battlecruisers.
Big Stalker explanetion: a stalker without blink is Tier 1,5, Gate (tier 1) Cybernetic core still an early game and must have core building so its Tier 1,5. The Twilight council, Stargate and Robo are all Tier 2 buildings producing Tier 2 and Tier 3 units, but for Tier 3 you need one of the 4 Tier 3 buildings (dankshrine, Templar archive, Fleetpeeken and Robo-bay). Maths are done
Best series on RUclips Edit - back when I actually played this game, nothing made me happier than someone I beat telling me I play to slow to beat them lmao.
I have to interject here. In Harstem's analogy near the end of the video, he implies that you could easily beat someone mining iron ore by just punching him. But an ridiculously incompetent oversight by Harstem is that a person mining ore would obviously have a mining tool in their hands, such as a pickaxe, drill, or excavator. This would make it incredibly hard to beat them if all you have is your fists. This is outrageous, and my immersion is completely ruined. I don't know if I will ever recover from this.
Love your videos man. These types of matches make me want to actually start ranked. Good grief, observers are so cheap to not have at least one with the army. Maybe I'll be brave enough to get out of coop today lol
:14 google search bar jokes are so underrated. 14 seconds in and im already laughing and pausing to leave a comment. harstem just cant miss neither can hamster. cant forget about the most important person on the channel
Considering I made it to m1 with 90 apm I just laugh when people bring up how fast they are below gm also you really expect low league players to know disruptors out range tanks not to mention its only by .5 I would bet on the tanks in this elo .
I would consider stalkers to be a tier 1 unit if we're talking about a ranking system. They are extremely effective from the very beginning of the game and they continue to Be an Effective part of the protoss death ball as well as extremely effective at sniping targets that you want to kill using blink. They would be like Marines costing a little bit more but having all of the characteristics of a Reaper as well
About tiers - I feel like "tier" should be a major tech and half should be usually sub-tech, but there's a catch in spended resources, so, like So zealot is tier 1, but stalker is tier 2. I kinda also feel like High Templar is a tier 2 unit, but because of how much you use resources Archons more akin to 2.5. Oracle, Phoenix and Immortal are all T2, but Colossus and disruptor are T2.5 But carriers I feel like is more T3 alongside Tempests(although you may say it's debatable) and mothership is definitely T3 unit. Or you can go like T1 - Gateway T2 - Cybernetics T3 - Stargate, RoboF, Templar Archives\Dark Shrine T4 - RoboBay, Fleet Beacon
But for real ... I think there was no reason for Asfrog to surrender. rebuilding the Gateways in his 4th/5th base. A bit improving on target fire to get the bc's actually down. and then preventing the terrans, now that he has learned how to get them down. just sitting a few more minutes on the mineral patches while preventing new bases could have him make winning the game.
MINE: missle target range of 5, splash range of +1.5 . Maximum damage range including leash (catching target and target moves away as ricket fires) = ~9 OBSERVER: vision range of 11. Stationary vision range of over 13~ . There is no excuse.
OMG I'm laughing so hard I'm crying! Marching 40 mines into someone's base and just obliterating it and then moving on to the next one🤣🤣🤣🤣 that's the most get out of my game move I think I've ever seen

Search history at 0:14 had me laugh really loud! 👍💣 I wonder how much editing it required? )))
I had to puase and go back but the search history at 0:14 had me laughing so hard LOL
f2 would have helped since it would have gotten his observers into the correct position earlier in the game. Also, AsFrog seems to be the only Protoss player than doesn't transition into Skytoss :P
Obviously, I'm being hyperbolic, but some people will take my statement at face value, so here's my disclaimer
It's not often I get to see somebody from a lower tier than me! Thanks for the submission!
7:03 lol so true, beauty is hard work! 🤣😂😂😂😂😂
I loved those 3 observers dying to widow mines
I wonder at what league you learn that you can build more than one type of unit. You know, getting something that hard counters your opponents army. Because in the last two silver league videos everyone is oddly insistent to build only one or two types of units, never ever getting anything else.
Though ironically, in this game, the mass stalkers would have been perfectly fine if he didn’t just walk into mines all game and clog up his main with buildings making it impossible to defend against the bcs.
I remember in low silver/bronze people build every type of unit, so focusing on something is actually a way to get better at that level
that search history gag at the start was golden
What are those bing searches?!?! "LowkoTV Personal information" HAHAA captain got caught! Lul
To be fair, that's obviously Hamster! After all, the recommended searches are in German (and Hamster is German as far as I am aware^^). So maybe we should judge the one behind the camera this time...
But to Hamster: Genial gemacht!
When was that? I think I've looked away and missed a joke
4:36 not a huge thing, but your talking about the protoss first unit being built late, right after watching a zealot chase the matine through the main.
Your more recent IODIS have been fun. Seemed like you were getting frustrated with some older submissions, but maybe these low level games have you enjoying the format again.
This was the funniest commentary and game I have ever seen. 260 stalkers! Lol!
On five.bases he could be producing five carriers at a time
Instead he mass stalkers
And then his beautiful building asthetics mazed his stalker
Carriers with their interceptor pew pew against Battlecruisers with their mini pew pew? LOL Carbot made a video about that XD
Voidrays would have already countered the Battlecruisers.
@@phelanwolf6747 the thing is he could have got to carriers a lot faster than the terrain got to BC
Big Stalker explanetion:
a stalker without blink is Tier 1,5, Gate (tier 1) Cybernetic core still an early game and must have core building so its Tier 1,5.
You should try to remake this main in a BGWSS
Best series on RUclips
Edit - back when I actually played this game, nothing made me happier than someone I beat telling me I play to slow to beat them lmao.
This is the first video that I have watched from Harstem, and it is definitely not going to be my last.
the guitar analogy was amazing
I have to interject here. In Harstem's analogy near the end of the video, he implies that you could easily beat someone mining iron ore by just punching him. But an ridiculously incompetent oversight by Harstem is that a person mining ore would obviously have a mining tool in their hands, such as a pickaxe, drill, or excavator. This would make it incredibly hard to beat them if all you have is your fists. This is outrageous, and my immersion is completely ruined. I don't know if I will ever recover from this.
Harstem plays minecraft confirmed? he punched iron ore until he had enough, no pickaxe/drill/excavator needed.
As a child in SC1 I built three solid layers of photon cannons around my bases. you do not want to waste space for real estate!
Love your videos man. These types of matches make me want to actually start ranked. Good grief, observers are so cheap to not have at least one with the army. Maybe I'll be brave enough to get out of coop today lol
There's also unranked if you like
:14 google search bar jokes are so underrated. 14 seconds in and im already laughing and pausing to leave a comment. harstem just cant miss
neither can hamster. cant forget about the most important person on the channel
14:58
jimi hendrix been real silent since this dropped
“How to take out RUclipsr bigger than yourself” followed by Lowko literally ended me, you’re even on Bing 😂😂
I barely even play starcraft but you have the funnest fucking commentary ever especially on imbas. Its so good
Considering I made it to m1 with 90 apm I just laugh when people bring up how fast they are below gm also you really expect low league players to know disruptors out range tanks not to mention its only by .5 I would bet on the tanks in this elo .
The mining during a fistfight analogy is particularly great because SJtinyhats held off the fistfight by mining the Stalkers
The cutoff and facepalm at 26:12 I'm dying of laughter
when is the "beating grandmasters with stupid stuff" asfrog base style coming? like how can you not be inspired.
he may have meant friend of friend (FOF) since he described it as a "chill" game
I would consider stalkers to be a tier 1 unit if we're talking about a ranking system. They are extremely effective from the very beginning of the game and they continue to Be an Effective part of the protoss death ball as well as extremely effective at sniping targets that you want to kill using blink. They would be like Marines costing a little bit more but having all of the characteristics of a Reaper as well
omg that environmental storytelling in the beginning XD
About tiers - I feel like "tier" should be a major tech and half should be usually sub-tech, but there's a catch in spended resources, so, like
So zealot is tier 1, but stalker is tier 2. I kinda also feel like High Templar is a tier 2 unit, but because of how much you use resources Archons more akin to 2.5.
Oracle, Phoenix and Immortal are all T2, but Colossus and disruptor are T2.5
But carriers I feel like is more T3 alongside Tempests(although you may say it's debatable) and mothership is definitely T3 unit.
Or you can go like
T1 - Gateway
T2 - Cybernetics
T3 - Stargate, RoboF, Templar Archives\Dark Shrine
T4 - RoboBay, Fleet Beacon
But for real ... I think there was no reason for Asfrog to surrender. rebuilding the Gateways in his 4th/5th base. A bit improving on target fire to get the bc's actually down. and then preventing the terrans, now that he has learned how to get them down. just sitting a few more minutes on the mineral patches while preventing new bases could have him make winning the game.
Absolutely no way, he has no bank and no income left while the terran is still making BCs.
lmaoo those search results @0:15
MINE: missle target range of 5, splash range of +1.5 . Maximum damage range including leash (catching target and target moves away as ricket fires) = ~9
OBSERVER: vision range of 11. Stationary vision range of over 13~ .
There is no excuse.
That joke about aesthetically pleasing bases felt like a personal attack.
OMG I'm laughing so hard I'm crying! Marching 40 mines into someone's base and just obliterating it and then moving on to the next one🤣🤣🤣🤣 that's the most get out of my game move I think I've ever seen
Lmao, the fucking archon conga line into the base so filled with buildings! XD
