I was released from the surgical center 5 yrs after my procedure. I had 6 at home PT sessions then an additional 6 at my surgeons office. I used my pain pills for only the first 3 days.
What do you know I just had my hip replaced. It is the most God awful pain. They don't Tell you at the lowest point in your life for long term disability
@@seniorhomecarehq6794 it is common practice now to send people home the same day after hip and knee replacement surgery. Our health care system is a mess and there are no hospital beds to keep patients for even a night. I'm 2 months post surgery, doing well, still have a few more physio appts left to try and improve things like going up stairs on that leg and getting up from a chair/toilet unassisted. The other hip is scheduled for Sept.
My surgeon was amazing. Could have come home same day but my general anesthesia got me really good. I had nausea, vomiting and can get up but couldn’t walk as I was very light headed. Next day I was up and running and got sent home.

2 or 3 PT visit is NOT enough! I needed more & outpatient PT or I would still be on Precautions! I believe it’s important for the patients to decide!
Exactly. Everyone is different
You can also do Home Physical Therapy if you are not able to make it to an outpatient facility.

hahaha they sent me home the same day, 5 hrs after the surgery. Wish I had stayed in the hospital for a few days
You must have had a good surgeon to go home the same day. How is your surgical hip now? Are you in Physical Therapy?

How long after surgery can you roller skate, or will I ever be able to roller skate again ?
You'll be able to skate about 6 months after. You may never fall again though!
Check with your surgeon during your next follow up. However make sure you are going to Physical Therapy to get stronger!
Taking Aleve helps with inflammation to help you get moving
How is your hip pain now? Are you still getting inflammation?
