    I am 59 years old and like so many guys out there I knew nothing about how my body functioned beyond sex-ed in school and I never bothered to learn anything until I was in a health crisis. Well, I was freaking the ^&#$@ out, thinking sex was done and life was over! Sorry for the melodrama but you can just imagine my shock, fear, and sadness at that news. But check this out - You can have an orgasm/climax post-prostatectomy, beyond any ED problems, but there will be no ejaculation. Meaning no ejaculate fluid. OK gonna keep it simple here - no white creamy stuff. Yup, who knew. I can have a great ole time with easy clean-up. Sorry, but I didn't know how else to drive it home. It's called a retrograde or ghost orgasm. Who knew and now you know.
    Cheers, and wishing you great health. Tony

    Thanks Tony, I am 60 yrs old and I have my catheter in now for over 3 months, in two days I will be having my Aquablation prostate surgery, when I first had the catheter put in I was very depressed. I wish I would have came across your videos months ago, you put a good spin on the topic and had me laughing on a lot of your videos, thanks again

      Kenny!!!! You made my day man! To know I helped you in a small way to get you through this difficult time makes me so freakn proud and humbled. Just sorry it took so long to find me. I'm working on the tags and stuff so the videos can be found easier but I'm still learning about RUclips. Enough about that - How're you doin? How are you feeling? You got your head together for your procedure? I spent the days prior to my prostatectomy just gettin my head together. You will be so happy to rid of the catheter. Watch some of the videos on post-procedure.....they'll help make the transition back to voiding on your own a lil easier I think.

    sorry... you had me laughing.....at 2:30ish..... you explain things sooooo good. the look on your face, the fog, the shuffling out to the car... LMAO. you know, I'm thinking they should have some SIMPLE worded classes BEFORE they ever remove a prostate. Physically it can be a struggle for some. Mentally/ emotionally the patient may have to do some self talking work.

    • @maletenance
      @maletenance  Год назад +1

      LOL! A lil laughter on a serious topic was what I needed to get through this whole thing. Thanks for the words of support. I have to say I didn't want to do it initially because it's so personal. You have no idea how hard it was to make this video and it took even longer to decide to post it. However, I thought it'll help so many, and since we guys don't talk to each other about our health issues, especially down there (geographically speaking it's off-topic) but we'll search online to find information, I'll just be brave and do it. I'm proud and humbled that its helped thousands of people.
      I'm trying to figure out how to be able to have this channel become a non-medical support space that can be recommended. Support, emotional or mental is not provided but so incredibly needed, especially the self-talk or the mental gymnastics as I call it. We are not alone on this journey but we can certainly feel like that, particularly during a health crisis. Maybe I'll do an E-booklet or start a speaking tour or do a podcast. I dunno, I just wanna continue helping. We'll see.
      In the meantime, cheers, and wishing you great health.

    I'm a woman and find this all very interesting and educational . My 92 year old father recently had a foley inserted and it shows blood every so often and blood clots obviously. His urologist stated, at his age surgery would be so invasive and most likely wouldn't make it through so, we walk through the rest of his life , not knowing if he has cancer in his bladder or prostate. We're just trying to make him as comfortable as possible. I am so happy I stumbled across your channel. I found the hanger under the bed video (sleeping with a foley bag) very useful for my Dad as well. Thank you isn't enough . 🙏

      Oh I'm so glad that videos are helping and I am sorry to hear about your Dad. You are a great daughter for educating yourself on this subject of catheters. It can be quite daunting on top of the realities and challenges you and he are facing but it's doable. I do hope you find some useful information that will make him more comfortable. Have you watched the video on sitting? I know from a healthcare worker who reached out to me who works with the elderly, that she found that one very helpful. Is your dad mobile?
      Please feel free to reach out to me via email, Tony.Alcindor@Maletenance.com and we can set up a time to speak if you'd like. I am a firm believer in providing healthcare peer/family support. I've spoken to people from around the world and it seems to help. Sometimes a tidbit of information from a chat can make all the difference.

He bumps it and runs over it quite often in his wheelchair to where a nurse has to come change it out from the catheter. I have so many unanswered questions, I would love to chat and learn more. I will send you an email as soon as I can and wishing you many blessings three fold for the kindness you show to others. Stay humorous 😉

      Who knew!!!! It's actually been amazing to find out that so many guys thought that they were one and the same. This to me shows that 1) Men don't know about their own body and how it functions and 2) Men's first introduction to a urologist should not be when there is a problem. Women have a gynecologist for most of their adult life to make sure their urinary and reproductive health is maintained, why don't men?! Maybe that's why women outlive men? Food for thought. Anyhow, to your point and I agree, it's different but worth living with. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

    Firstly hello and thank you for your channel Tony.
    Forgive me for asking.
    With your surgery am I correct to assume that they we’re able to save “the nerve endings” surrounding your prostate? Im curious was this discussed “prior to your operation”? Or did you have a period of erectile function before being able to sustain an erection? I’m hearing all kinds of horror stories regarding ED and incontinence? Did you have any issues with this matter?
    I know you had BPH and not prostrate cancer so Im assuming there is a “difference” in terms of the actual removal of the prostrate and subsequent erectile function?
    I’ve started this scary journey and I’m reading all sorts of things into my situation without “any proper evidence yet”. All I know is that my PSA is past “normal range” for my age (I’m 50) , I’m peeing ALOT and my general doctor has asked for it to be investigated.
    I’ve had a near breakdown just “thinking” about all the potentials.
    On thing that shines through in your story “is you”. You have a wonderful energy, a courage and openness that has made me smile and given me hope. I feel blessed to have found your channel. I have a ton of questions probably but I just dived right on in with this video.
    God bless you,
    From Liverpool England.
    🙏❤️.x

      Whoa whoa whoa!!!! Take a breath. You're gonna %$#@ yourself if you don't. From what I can tell you've gone down the rabbit hole because you weren't provided enough or any information from your medical provider. This seems to be a common theme everywhere. All men are advised to get their PSA and prostate checked at 50 to be in front of any potential issues if any at all. Having a PSA that is past its normal range is not a marker for cancer or getting a prostatectomy. It is like when your engine check light comes on in your car - it's time to check things out and possibly some maintenance is required so it continues to keep running for years to come. My car is running just fine, even with less oil. LOL!
      Breathe!!!
      Also no need to worry......I'm really open about everything I went through so don't worry about asking me questions. See car metaphor.
      Let's do this if you want, which I've done this a ton of times with guys from all over the world and it really helps. Plus I don't that type fast. Send me an email at tony.alcindor@Maletenance.com and we can set up a time for a call/Zoom and you can ask me whatever you want. Hello. Why did get radical prostectomy with bph? You are supposed to have turp procedure instead.
    With regards.

    • @maletenance
      @maletenance  Месяц назад

      Hi, my prostate had grown so large and irregular in shape that it was the only option that was given to me. There really isn't any one-size-fits-all all procedure. There are so many variables that determine whats right for each person. I have spoken to thousands of men and procedures from Turp, to Holep to a prostatectomy is something determined by the medical professional and the patient.
      Now should I have had a second opinion, in hindsight probably but it's too late to think about that now. I'm just happy that I had medical insurance to cover what I needed to bring me back to health.
      Cheers, Tony

    After removal of the prostate, you may experience during orgasm an involuntary residual urine release which actually almost feels like an ejaculation.
