Thank you so much for this instructional video. It is so important to know all the names so you can order parts or even ask questions online. I needed the name of the part that is attached to the front drive shaft and attaches to the wheel. Spindle is what I think you called it. You know the .. the... thing that is held in place by the caster block. lol I will probably have to watch this video a couple of times is so well done. Thanks again 😀
Great video! I'm enjoying this whole series! Two suggestions - 1) Don't use finger, use a narrow pointer, like a pencil, as it is hard to see what part you are sometimes pointing too! I would pay $$ to do a collective kit-build, meaning we all buy the same cheap kit, and you make a video where you build it in real-time, discussing parts, names, assembly strategy, etc.
Holy cow Greg thanks for ever video sir just got into this hobby to spend more time with my kids and trying to understand every working part which is funny because I'm a back yard mechanic which this is working on something that's literally a functional vehicle without the other parts in the ways and you can work from both sides lol. Sir I have to thank you for doing these videos for people like myself and which means seriously a lot to myself because of my kids and well my daughter just got her first rc this year in her birthday from one of her uncles because she had asked for it and well I got the same one as she got for her birthday for my son and well then I got one off Amazon that does the 8mpg that's a true crawler but than my brother in law the kids uncle comes out with his arrma buggy and I'm like man I love you brother in law but man we seriously had a great time with everyone having something moving by remotes lol I don't think I have ever seen my daughter smile so big before
Has the RC world decided to combine shock absorbers and springs , and refer to " shocks " . If we can keep the concept of tires and wheels separate , I'll bet RCers could consider shocks and springs and their very different duties as separate suspension items even with the popularity of coil-overs . We buy tire/wheel combos yet we know the difference between them . I see many RCers refer to shock shortcomings when they're refering to spring duties .
*RCDriver* hi there, hope things are good. Can i ask you something please?. Im new to this stuff and im trying to make a small gimble arm for a gopro. From what i see in your video the things id need are *Attached to vertical handle would be: Oil Suspension piston Suspension arm Turnbuckle Steering block spindle *I just want the front where the steering block spindle would be to rise an fall vertically with a gopro attached. Any advice on the combination of parts id need would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, all the best, kieron
You said the front of the 4 wheel drive car cannot be adjusted? You cannot align the wheels then? If they are not straight and bowl out then they are fixed that way?
Hi, Greg! New to the RC Hobby still even though I have bought my first WL-Toys A959 What ever that Model number is a few years ago. So I built the B6.2d From Team Associated. However, I can't get my turnbuckles to be alligned well with my front steering suspension. Any Tips on how to adjust them to make my front steering straight? And not curved like this? \ / .
Informative and clearly understanding thank for your patience and time. Shocks can really be a pain and you simplified them for me and many. Well done!!✌
I need the plastic thingy that does that thing where stuff happens. Im kinda like that lol, thank you for making this series of vids, it is helping me a lot
Hi Newby confusion here. How is shock length measured ( or best say 'sold')? Is it from centre eyelet-to-eyelet and in complete extension or complete compression? I want to buy new shocks but have no reference to what 'length' actually refers or relates to. Your or anybody's assistance would highly appreciated! Thanx for a great series. Is of great help to us novices! Thanx in advance Regards, ET
Shane Haas NO, you cannot put xmaxx tires on a slash. You would you need hub adapters but the motor and esc would likely overheat and fry due to the mass. However, you can use stampede tires (2.8 inch tires) and raise the body as you don't need to get adapters with the 2.8s, but watch your temps!
@@shanehaas9243 You don't necessarily need a new motor but you may have to change the gearing to compensate for the difference in the rolling diameter of the tires. Maybe drop a tooth on the pinion.
Kudos for the video content! Apologies for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you considered - Patlarny Vehicle History Principle (probably on Google)? It is a good one of a kind guide for discovering how to repair your car the simple way without the hard work. Ive heard some decent things about it and my m8 at last got amazing results with it.
