    Went from 5600 non X to 5800X3D and totally recommend ! 1% & 0.1% low improvement are insane on FFXIV and ACC ! If you play CPU heavy games and want to keep AM4 a little longer it's totally worth it.

      I went from a 5900X to a 5800X3D for $3 out of pocket. I noticed improvements but then had a offer of $380 for that 5800X3D and a X570 TUF motherboard and so I sold it and ultimately went to X670 Aorus Elite AX, 7600X, 32gb CL30 6000MT Trident Z5 Neo ram for $40 more out of pocket after I sold off 64gb of basic 3600mhz C18 ram. Before the 7600X AM5 upgrade though I did decide I would just use a 5800X I had in the house to hold me over until 9000 series came out. Well I noticed it big time when I went back down to a 5800x. My FPS games sustained framerates were noticeably lower even with only a 6900XT at darn near 4k resolution. (5120x1440p). I did the AM5 upgrade not too long after that and the 7600X felt just like the 5800X3D performance wise.

      My upgrade to 5800x3d from 3700x has gotten me 50% - 100% more frames in most games I play, so I would say that is pretty massive. Even more so from the 2700x.

      The 5800x3D is already about 20% ahead of the 5800x. So you're saying that between the 2 generation difference of Ryzen 2000 and Ryzen 5000, there has only been a 15% difference? You can look at any reliable benchmarks from Hardware Unboxed or Gamers Nexus that debunk that.

      Chances are your setup is balanced enough that the 3800x is not severely holding back your GPU. The increase in performance from the 3800x to 5x00x3D is well documented, but only if the GPU is substantial enough to show it.

      The 5800x is still an awesome processor it just got overshadowed by the value of the 5600x and later on in 2022, the 5700x. Then shortly after that, the 5800x3D came along. Between the 3 processors I just listed, it became hard to find a reason to pick up a 5800x despite it still being a very capable CPU to this day.

      @Streetpharmasist420 11 месяцев назад +1

      @Shieftain dam I completely forgot about that. Yeah smart move. I'll wait for the new di to come out. Either I get the 7900X3D even cheaper, or the new di is way better to get one.

    • @Shieftain
      @Shieftain 11 месяцев назад

      @@Streetpharmasist420 I was just watching the Gamers Nexus 7900X3D review yesterday since it's on sale, and it's a weird one. It's trying to achieve this middle ground between the 7800X3D and the 7950X3D but not really doing a good job. I recommend you check out the review if you haven't already.
      Another thing I forgot to mention is the possibility of newer generation of AM5 motherboards being revealed alongside Zen 5 CPUs at Computex. I'm hoping they'll have improvements like faster boot times and improved memory compatibility, so it might be also worth holding out a bit longer to see if anything surfaces on that end.
      Oh, what GPU are you currently using? Are you planning to upgrade that too?

    • @Streetpharmasist420
      @Streetpharmasist420 11 месяцев назад

      @Shieftain I'm currently using the Asus 1080ti OC edition. So yeah I need to upgrade. But I got the hook up with GPU at half off with Amazon returns store. I was going to go with the 4090 because I like RT. But I heard the 5000 series is going to be a major upgrade. Something about AI cores being a major focus, and 50%more powerful.

    • @Shieftain
      @Shieftain 11 месяцев назад

      @@Streetpharmasist420 Well if you're still on a 1080ti the 5600 will do just fine. But if you do upgrade to the 4090 or better you probably would want to pair that with a faster CPU since ray tracing can be CPU heavy. IMO if you got the hook up a deep discount on the 4090 you should go for it now instead of waiting a year for the 5090 just because of some performance rumours (especially since historically they have almost never been true). The 4090 will be more than enough to keep you happy until the RTX 6000 is out. If performance in future games aren't up to par, just drop DLSS from quality to balanced (or even performance) and drop a few settings here and there for minimal visual loss while gaining far more frames.
