    16:15 is no joke, it's really difficult to get that alignment correctly. Even if you are the type of person who has done numerous repairs of these things, it's still a frustrating alignment.
    Suggestion to those who are attempting this for a self repair. Just unscrew the bottom portion of the iPod and gently lift the entire channel and battery together. This'll give you leverage to connect the power button flex without having to perform David Copperfield feats.
    Unless you plan on doing this repair on a clock; there's no reason for you to have to learn how connect the power flex in the manner this video shows.
    Best of luck.

    Just a little tip for you people watching this video and going straight to repairing your Ipod. Watch multiple video guides on replacing the Ipod 5 screen (or anything for that matter) before doing it yourself, sometimes videos don't clarify every little detail and things you need to careful with.

    • @ubreakitirepairit3569
      @ubreakitirepairit3569 8 лет назад +1

      Your right about that. The video cut twice @15:48 & @16:22 because they failed to show people the difficulty of plugging in the digitizer cable and the power cable to the motherboard.

    im getting annoyed, so i take my last screen off, the LCD was cracked to hell and back and the touch was gone and i replace it with the new screen. the wiring is all hooked correctly but i can get it to displace anything, ive tripple checked that my inputs were fully pushed in. i even made sure it wasnt the ipod by putting the old one back in and tunring it on (lite up nicely, by nicely i mean it was still cracked to hell and a colour of blue ive never seen before with a shadow of an apple symbol in the background implying that it was starting up) unplugged it and put the other one in again and got nothing.

    What if the home button feels stuck down?

    • @ubreakitirepairit3569
      @ubreakitirepairit3569 8 лет назад +1

      That is a very common issue with the iPod touch 5th gens; especially after you've opened one up. This happens due to the little black dot on top of the home button flex cable splitting, and part of it sticks to the home button and then gets lost as your opening the device. That little black dot can also randomly get dislodged from the home button flex cable causing your home button to sink in. It can be easily fixed by cutting a very small piece of plastic from a water bottle and crazy gluing it to the home button flex cable.

    • @justcook5259
      @justcook5259 7 лет назад

      Aubree Prado you don't need your home button after you set up assistive touch.
      Settings- General-Accessibility
      Assistive touch turn on. Then customize top level menu + to add. Then click on to select command- home.
      If you use screenshots you will need to add that command as well since your actual button doesn't work. Hope that helps.
