Great videos! I just got a 88 4Runner and has same issues crank but no start. Pervious owner said it was the fuel pump. Should replace that or diagnose it first?
i have a 1988 toyota pickup with a 22re and it cranks but no starts and i did the fuel filter fuel pump and fuel relay. and it tries to start but doesnt its like it gets gas for a sec then loses it
I'm having the same problem I replaced the AFM, getting spark, and tested the fuel pump. All good but it won't start like yours. Did you figure out what's wrong?
I figured out mine. It was the AFM. After testing it, it was bad so I replaced it and the truck fired up then it was running a little rich and would take 3 to 6 times to start, figured out that problem was the thermo time switch, replaced that and now the truck starts 1st try. Hopefully this will help others.
my 88 pickup just died on the road today I had to towed it, It cranks but wont start I watched all your videos and tomorrow I am going to start testing as you mentioned I will let you know what I found

What are we supposed to check inside the intake? The flap moves freely, is it supposed to move when I turn the key on?
Do you still have this rig?
Cold Start injector.
Nice videos thanks, hope it helps someone.
That was my intention for making the videos. Thank you...
