    thanks man , got to love google, my 94 pu 4x4 3vze did the same thing , did the same as you .relay, fuel pump...etc...so glad i found your video., was about to start tearing shiz up. you saved me from getting frustrated bigly..13/85....

    as soon as you mentioned no engine warning light and no tach, but cranks I said hmmm, really now....that got my attention. I found an ECU online for 179.00 no core free shipping, with no questions warranty...love it

      I see that you commented on someone's post where they're 1995 4Runner cranks over but won't start and I seen where you said oh really did you ever figure out why because I've got the same make model in year and it's done the same identical thing and no one not even auto mechanics I've asked the parts store Toyota dealership don't know what's wrong with it can't figure it out

      @@pamelamccown1785 I am still working if out. I have replaced the spark plug wires, the distributor unit,cap rotor, fuel pump circuit opening relay, EFI relay, and the ECU. I am waiting for the EFI RELAY to be delivered.. I need to check the timing belt. I will keep you informed. I am deep in this so let me solve it..save your money. If you hear anything let me know..I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED.😋

      Hey guys, sorry it took awhile to respond. OK I reinstalled the distributor and set the rotor to the #1 plug then jumped Te1 to E1 in the diagnostic port to time the engine. 10deg BTDC. I got it done. I repositioned the knock sensor to the engine hook . ( knk sensor hack on RUclips) it works great and this is loads easier than the alternative. It idles great even with a/c running.
      I diagnosed that the TPS was faulty by using a meter to check the resistance between the bottom 2 connector blades on the TPS while installed got nada. I ordered an OEM TPS and am waiting for it to be delivered.
      I also replaced the harness connector for the distributor as well as the knock sensor. These are year and model specific. I am going to upload a video to my channel on RUclips . ..Stallski and Clutch. When the TPS arrives to go over what I did to get to the point I am now.

    Glad I ran across this video. I have a 92 4x4 with the 3.0 vze and it has fuel to the rails, spark but will not start. Have a few things to check today when I get home from reading the comments. Thanks for sharing

      Checked codes this afternoon, #22 & 41. E2 (ground) to Vcc on tps I had 5 volts. Between E2 & idle on tps voltage ranged from .7 dc volts to 3.7 at full throttle. Both injector wire have constant power. I have spark, pressure to fuel rails, and engine light. Trying to figure out where to go next?

      Are you getting spark to all your plugs and check the Distributor cap and rotor also the mass flow sensor will also keep it from starting 🤔

      There’s a fuel pressure sensor on the back of the fuel rail that also goes bad,, and it will keep it from starting

    I had the same problem. Wasn’t getting spark. It’s never the coil. I just went to the junk yard and pulled a distributor, got a new cap/rotor, ignitior and vafm. The reason I was suspicious is because I retrieved diagnostic trouble codes from the ecu.
    Go to your “dtc box”, it’s in the engine bay neighboring the fuse box by the battery. You need to put a jumper wire or paper clip from terminals te1 and e1. Then turn ignition on. Now watch your instrument cluster. Your check engine light will start flashing. Count the amount of times it flashes, for example if it flashes three times fast then pauses then twice fast. Then the code is 32. It will flash in a numerical orientation for every issue then repeat itself continuously so don’t feel rushed. You miss a flash combo. Just wait. It will do it again.
    Also when you want to clear the codes. Disconnect the battery negative and pull the 15 amp “efi” fuse for 2 min. It’s the box located in the engine compartment

      By the way. Message me the dtcs you retrieve and I will give you what they mean. I have a factory manual. These engines can be quite the pain in the ass. For example a bad coolant temp sensor can cause a no start condition. But it will give a code stating So. When I pulled mine I received 5 codes. Lol. By the way. There is no real test for the ignitor. Even the book says just to replace if suspicious. But pull them codes lol

    That or you have a short to ground somewhere relating with the room fuse. But it’s probably the ecu I would test and see

    I was just wondering if you ever found out what was wrong with your forerunner because I've got the same make model and year and mine will crank over but it will not start but here's the situation right before this happened my pasture and pump was going out me and a friend replaced it and right before we did we noticed that the pulley and the balance was kind of shifted and was in a bond so we took the power steering pump out and put another one in it released the tension on the poison the bells and it was lined up straight again so when I left his house and was on the way back home I stopped at the store well come out of store and started it and saying that the battery light was on and then I heard this not loud noise but it's not enough for me to hear it and it sounded like something was slapping up against something so I drove it on down the road a ways and I tried everything and try to figure it out why I stopped down the gas speed just a little bit and the noise stopped but so did the vehicle it shut down so I coasted to a wise spot call my friend and automatically he knew what it was it was the alternator belt had come out but the thing was the AC belt broke which slapped up and bumped off the alternator belt which didn't break so we put the alternator belt back on and my car hasn't started since it will crank over but it will not start and we know why the AC built stuff broke because it left slack in the belts when we change the power steering pump and it straightened out the pool is in the belt that all we can figure out but we cannot figure out why it will not start back and it started fine and ran fine before that we have called every mechanic we know everybody that knows about the cars my friend even went to Rusty Wallace Toyota and they seem to puzzled and everybody's naming off the same things you know is it getting fuel is it firing yes it's on we checked all that it's not the timing it didn't jump time it's not the timing belt the plugs are getting fire it's getting fuel, wave chased every wire every hose in it nobody can seem to figure out why it will not start but like I said it will crank over it sounds like it's out of gas or like it's not getting fire but that's not what's wrong with it even the people at the parts store don't even know what's wrong with it so I'll be greatly appreciative if you can throw any ideas my way or tell me what you done with yours now what you figured out on yours thank you

      Hey ihv a Toyota 3rz it has the same problem starting especially when it's cold in the morning.wat I do is cranking it while the fuel line to the fuel filter if not connected so when it's about to start I put back the fuel line it starts.

    My 95 did the same thing but it ended up being a fault in my aftermarket alarm system the guy before me put in the truck. Still working on it but it would crank all day long

    MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR IS BAD IT WILL NOT SEND SPARK TO PLUGS

    What did you do to fix it? My 91 4runner 3vz is having the EXACT same issue with the same symptoms, i tried a different ecu, new COR, coil, the thing next to the coil that i cant think of the name rn, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, even tried a different potentiometer/afm. I did finally get it to start after i found B+ on the obd1 only had .5v and jumped that to the battery positive terminal, but obviously that was just to diagnose. So the only real issue i have found is no power to B+ on the obd1. I also checked the efi relay and plug and its good. It has no spark and fuel pump doesnt come on but if i jump B+ to the battery it starts and runs completely fine.

    Edit: oh and i did confirm that the distributor is turning. Idk why i just added this when I already said it runs with the jumper wire though...

      Have you checked this one it’s on the passenger side under the dash Circuit Opening Relay 🤔

      If ignitor doesn't fix check your wires coming from wiring harness to distributor. Mine died while driving. Found wire broke away from plug going to distributor. Also inspect 10gauge wire from positive side battery to engine compartment fuse box. The relay and fuse can be good the 10 gage wire will often have corrosion and not be making a good contact. These are the issues I've had when having same problems.

    93 4runner no start. Starts with starting fluid. New pump, new filter, new fuel line. Will check to see if check engine light comes on. Replaced open circuit relay. Still searching for the answer. Ok I have no engine light coming on so I guess it's my computer as well.

      If you have checked all your relays fuel pump relay under the hood and the open circuit relay on the passenger side kick panel and dashboard and still not running check to make sure your getting fuel to the injectors loosen off the banjo bolt on the right side of the motor by the intake on the main fuel line to see if you’re getting fuel. Check and see if you’re getting spark if you’re getting fire if you’re not getting fuel and fire and it still not wanting to start or to run and more than likely it is the ECM is bad and if you don’t have a check engine light on then definitely the ECM is bad that’s when you first turn your key on if you don’t see a check engine light on then it’s a problem with the Ecm 👍😎

      @@MTBTexasBikeRider I opened up my original ECM this evening and it is just as pristine as the one I got off eBay. No burns no leaking capacitors, no breaks in the traces. I'll try the replacent tomorrow but it's not looking good as of now that the ECM is the problem. My 93 4runner only has 120k on it.

      @@MTBTexasBikeRider I'm looking at a short in the EFI now. EFI fuse blown, replaced then blows again on start attempt. COR SWAP made no change, ECU swap made no change. With a new fuse in the check engine is on and goes out with start attempt and the fuse blows. I'm thinking a mouse nest under the manifold and chewed wires to the injectors. That's my next step. Damned varmints! Anyone got any other ideas?

      Hunter Schulz thanks Hunter. My 95 3vze was throwing a code 12, I replaced the distributor cap and rotor and it fired right up, ran for a long while (at idle), then stalled and refused to start again. It now throws a code 13. Resistance on the ignition coil is in spec, but the male connection on the distributor housing is not because I am getting no ohm resistance when testing the NE - G- on the pick-up coil ohm test. Very strange but I may my be doing something wrong as well.

      Well mine was the ECM I had to replace it. I had no check engine light I checked all my fuses and relays was all good. But when I put the new ECM in it started right up! Hope this helps maybe I will make a updated video on this one🤔

My cousin ordered the ecm from ebay and still continue with the same problem. I found a place where they told me the ecm had to be flash to the VIN. They Want $230.. I Dont Know. Im Almost Done Removing every single item oit of the truck. Lol. 🤦🏽‍♂️ i dont Know if I Should go With That Since We Already Spend $160 on the ebay one..

    I don't know what's up my 1991 Toyota put a brand new distributor on it and it won't start but will crank I don't know what's the issue do you know

      Have you checked out all the relays on the passenger side under the hood? And also is your check engine light on when you turn on the key before you crank it?

      I had to replace my ECM on the passenger side behind the kick panel. Check all your fuses first I hope this helps 👍😊

      I have checked all my fuses and relays, they all seen to be fine. Problem is I'm from the Caribbean and getting an ECM is bit of a challenge. I may have to order a used one from the USA
