Bon jour from Finland! Oh, what a hidden jem your channel is! What a blessing to find you here 💛 It is very nice to meet you. I am all about silk scarves, I have been all my adult years. I already wore them back in college and I also wear one with goretex outerwear too. I am a tall woman with long neck and I find that a silk scarf balances nicely the swan effect that can look disproportionated. Also as a European nothing gives you that much needed warmth than a good scarf. I especially adore Christine Lagarde’s way to use silk scarves. Trés chic!

I love my silk scarves. I worked in Harrods scarf dept during uni holiday where I learned about them. Hermes and Ferragamo are my favourites and my guilty pleasure when I can. I hate it when I’m asked if I’m a flight attendant though!! 🙄

My style is quite edgy and I love the juxtaposition of edge or grunge with a silk scarf.
I’ve picked up my best pieces from charity shops, I look for silk with hand rolled edges as an indication of quality if the scarf is not branded.

I prefe ingr a looser look about the neck. Putting the scarf in a triangle, corner to corner, and draping, as you did the Japanese scarf you received as a gift. It is my favorite look With a longer scarf, the triangle in the front, disguises a "tummy". It is also looks well with a strand of pearls or statement necklace nesting on top. Using a brooch as a scarf pin on the shoulder is fun, and adds additional personality.

Not true! I have bought 2 vintage Hermès scarves for roughly $120.00 each in excellent shape. A new designer scarf would cost you that much in a department store!!!

@@joannathesinger770$120 is still a lot for a second-hand scarf for the average person. I don't think EVERY French woman has that kind of money for accessories.

@@mparstrikesback ROFL!!! The $120 is for a preloved scarf. New ones start at $400.
You don't watch many videos of French women on the street. They wear Zara clothes, but their shoes, handbags, and accessories are from designers like Tiffany, Hermès, and so forth. What they invest in lasts them for their lifetimes.

@@joannathesinger770 and I'm wearing a Shiaparelli scarf as we speak (also obtained second hand) but I recognize that $100 scarves are expensive to a lot of people. So what?

People in the US don't wear scarves. But there was a time there when one would tie a scarf around the handle of a handbag.

4:45... Nothing fits there ! The scarf is too thin. The knot is to flat. The style does not fit with your beige pull over. A bit larger scarf would have been perfect with your neck.

I like beautiful scarves, especially large ones for the winter that are thick and warm. I've never taken to wearing small ones. If they're a color I've really enjoyed, I've sometimes wrapped them around a lampshade. Maybe tie one to my handbag, or a longer one through my belt loops. I honestly don't see women where I live wearing the smaller scarves around their necks, and I thought they had gone out of style many years ago. About using a scarf to add color to the face? I've heard that's a reason to wear a scarf around the neck. Why not experiment with makeup instead? You might not need to wear more makeup, just better makeup that looks natural, but looks like your skin is revitalized and has a glow. Not only older women suffer from lack of color on their face. Women of all ages benefit from a healthy glowing skin. Someone may have a colorful scarf on, but when you look upward, the same dull lackluster face might be there. I think I'd work on that problem before tying a little scarf around the neck. Example: Marilynn Monroe never wore jewelry, scarves, etc. Her method was to have the best hair and face, and not detract from that with earrings, necklaces, scarves, etc. Do you want to be complimented on your vivid scarf and jewelry, or your beautiful complexion and well kept hair? Less is more. I never thought a scarf made a woman more beautiful. Those little prim scarves look like they are chocking a woman.
