    I was getting ready to buy some drum but I will wait until I try your hack to save some money. I have a few rolls of sandpaper so I will try it. Glad you posted. Hope your truck turned out great.

      Thank you! I did a couple videos of shooting the truck. Was quite pleased with it 👍🏼

    Also idk why but the “you could put 180 on there if you’re scared” made me laugh. I’m just waiting on someone to chime in with use airline stripper instead like it doesn’t cost a college tuition to do an entire vehicle with it lol

      Blown Budget Garage that shit burns your skin and the metal seems to flash rust instantly afterwards. Then they’ll say buy some acid to fight the rust. And I’ll say, that shit burns too. Then they’ll say sandblast it! And I’ll say that shit burns too. I’m just trying to save some people money who already spent 200$ on a tool that they want you to pay 30$ every panel that you strip.

    I just picked up the HF version last week. Wasn't sure if it was going to be worth it. Only took 30 minutes to completely strip the decklid on the Duster. I like the hack! I have the same 3M roll in the cabinet. I'll have to try it. I have several cars lined up to strip and paint. I'm hoping it will be a time saver!

      Thanks brother. Let that glue dry well, if you spray some adhesive on too.

    Wow!! Ingenious! I think you can buy rolls of sandpaper with adhesive backing also Would be perfect!

      Thanks Don. These were 3m adhesive backed, but were a few years old.

      Donald Baker glad I could help! I think Jegs sells a version of this for a bit cheaper. I like to use mine and give my compressor a rest lol

    That is a great tool hack! I bet that could add up to save a lot of money and time when sanding a whole truck. Great video Joe! This truck is going to look amazing when you are done!

    I have a hood that needs total strip, being cheap I was gonna try a belt sander any thoughts on that?

    • @JustMoparJoe
      @JustMoparJoe  4 года назад

      Roger Dodger it may put too much heat into the metal. Also, the sander is a hard flat surface, so it may not work on much contour. If it works, let me know!

    Have you seen the stripping machine that looks a lot like the SCT on eBay $129 thinking of giving that a go.

      Moparnut62 yes sir! I believe jegs sells one too. I got this one for Christmas a few years back. That was the only way I could afford it lol

      318willrun thank you! You can attest that the paint seems to fall off those late 80’s and early 90’s Dodges. Love your van!

    Cool i quit using mine because of the cost of the drums

      @JustMoparJoe  4 года назад +1

      mickymopar I threw mine in the corner and figured I’d try it again. But seriously, for 2$, you can wrap the drum and sand for a while! I’m painting that truck tomorrow! Hope to get a video by Sunday

      Blown Budget Garage you can roll it on now ! Thanks Eastwood

    • @BlownBudgetGarage
      @BlownBudgetGarage 4 года назад

      JustMoparJoe I’ve tried roll on primer and if you use different pressure on the roller in different spots it gets wavy quick
