Ps A group of local female MPs tried to get Delilah banned as they said it encouraged domestic violence , just thought I would pass that little nugget on . By the way my Late Father heard.its not unusual ,on the radio as he entered a record shop and said straight away that the vocalist would be a star , the vocalist of course was Tom Jones, true story.

As someone who clearly loves the styles of Tom Jones & Elvis I'm not sure if you're aware of the back story ~ for a time Elvis lost interest in doing live shows & a very clever Promoter Gordon Mills latched onto the idea filling the void with a performer that could capture the same energy on stage ~ so he signed Tom Jones & Engelbert Humperdink & groomed them to create a similar stage presence as Elvis

I'm not sure you can get a bigger compliment than that and after your recent trip to Graceland I thought it was appropriate. As for this song I think it's a song about the Biblical story of Samson and Delilah, which I think is quite gruesome, so I don't think this is really Tom Jones' actual story. It is an amazing song, an amazing delivery, and this song is even used as a football song sung at Stoke City here in England during matches if you can believe that!!!
