As has been said below, I think you have to view the lyrics in the context of this being 1960s Britain. He was already suffering because of her and yet there she was laughing at him. He felt the knife in his hand and she laughed no more (not him crying or suffering no more). In 1960s Britain that means the obvious. He put an end to her laughing by stabbing her. The reference to 'before they come to break down the door', means he knows he will be arrested for what he's done.
That makes so much sense! I wasn’t sure which way it ended because it was the first time I really analyzed the lyrics like in the video, but it gives it a much bigger meaning. Thank you for explaining

I'm old enough to remember hearing Delilah as a teenager in the late 60s here in the UK. As I got older, and it became a disco/party/karaoke favourite, I always found it ironic that it was actually the story of a guy who committed pre-meditated murder because his girl was unfaithful to him. Well. I guess many of us guys have had that happen to us before, haven't we? But, hopefully, the majority of us didn't resort to homicide as a way of handling the situation. Talk about the power of love...no wait--that's another song, ha ha.

Try "Without Love". Just as good as "Delilah". His music will live forever.
You should react to treat her right by Tom
if i remember coretly it about a man who kill is girl frriend in uk
This is what's generally understood from this song: He killed her and he's waiting for the cops and/or her family to break down the door and grab him.
Sir Tom Jones once guest starred in the U.S sitcom Fresh Prince Of Bel Air along side Will Smith.
No way she got it
Brilliant reaction. A suggestion would be to listen to Tom Jones impromptu duet on the Voice UK with Jennifer Hudson 2 power houses. Brilliant rendition of Mans world
That sounds fabulous!
Small suggestions... For the next time The Ronettes with the marvelous Ronnie Spector.... The Carpenters... The beach boys... Bruce Springsteen... Maybe?...
