- Miles "The Shoe" Schuman sat down with Geoff Tate (formerly of Queensrÿche) for their first interview in half a decade. Geoff goes in depth on fatherhood, fame, Queensrÿche, and more in this not to miss interview.
Filmed by Walting Entertainment.
I could listen to him talk all day, but I will listen to him sing for the rest of my life.
Velvet voice both spoken and singing!!!!
I think Geoff needed his own microphone for this interview.
Excellent interview. It's weird hearing him talking about the corona virus and knowing how it affected everything right after this interview.
I love the interviewer's style. Good questions.
Thank you so much for the compliment! More rock and metal interviews coming soon, subscribe to keep updated!
Rage for Order is a masterpiece ❤️
It is a masterpiece. It’s Dracula meets the Terminator in the Matrix. 😂
It is!!!

I love, love, love Rage For Order. The words are much more poetry than lyrics. And musically it's very much different from the other releases, almost scifi/industrial nightmare at times. I still listen to it on a regular basis.
@@auralfixxation6702 Same here. It's my favorite of their cannon, it's so emotionally powerful that it is practically mythic.
Man, I would have loved to be there. Best vocalist of all time. Unbelievably bright and talented.
Not even close to being best singer all time and im a huge Queensryche fan of 35 years
Lots of better vocalists with natural voices and not falseto or Mixed out
@@rocketcharger17 In his field, he is surely one of the top 5 ~ and he's got the classical training behind that range
Highly intelligent but down to earth fella with heaps of integrity. An outstanding performer and a stellar metal vocalist. Could easily have found a career on Broadway with his vocal talents. Queensrÿche, are not the same without him. Operation Mindcrime and The Warning along with the Queen Of The Reich e.p. are amongst the best metal releases of all time and Empire isn't far behind. Remember seeing this band support Dio on the Last In Line tour in 1984 and that was mindblowingly special. Masses of respect to Geoff.
So much talent and he has so much class ❤️
Rage was always my favorite. It was So different. The lyrics, the music. It was such a perfect album. And Geoff was at the Top of his game!!! JMO 👍
Wow what a great interview!! Geoff Tate is often playing close to the vest, but in this interview he was so relaxed and open. Amazing. I hope to see him in concert someday. I'd love to learn more about his family! I saw the video of his daughter singing with him which was lovely. Who knew he had FOUR kids! And so gracious as he talked about his wife. GREAT interview!!!!
I love Geoff! Queensryche will never be the same without you! You are by far one of the best singers of all time!
Will always Love you Geoff !!
Really excellent interview thanks so much 👍❤️
Just saw Geoff and his band on 9/24/2021 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was so good it was INSANIA!!! We had backstage passes, too, and they were so welcoming and wonderful to us, like we were somebody special!!
Geoff’s music and lyrics have touched my soul since the 1980’s!
Excellent interview Geoff Tate is a legend and one of the best vocalist to do it!
Excelente entrevista!
Great interview!
Geoff is a cool dude. Love the stories.
Wow. I love a level headed good guy who manages that while being a star rocker. He appears to have not let any of the glamour and fame ruin his head.
WHEN HE SWITCHES THE MIC OVER TO GEOFF, YOU CAN'T HEAR IT AS WELL. NEED A BETTER MIC, SETUP.
Nice insightful interview. Geoff seems like a very down to earth person considering his background, a guy you could have a beer with. ME thinking OMG THAT GEOFF TATE!!
Great interview
Really good interview. Great questions. Geoff rules!
Great interview with a legend.
Tate should narrarate for Discovery channel.
Really good interview, made me subscribe instantly. Hope the shoe fits.
great interview!
Tate is the best part of Queensryche, Love this interview, he seems like he has a good attitude.
Too Cool !!!
Geoff Tate all the way......... When they split, it was see ya later to Queensryche.
Couldn't agree more!
Too bad. QR is still AMAZING. Top notch writing still to this day.
@@DoktorDamage All the arguments of the classic lineup and post-Tate Queensryche aside, the self-titled with Todd I like a lot. Very, very good album, and even the other two following are enjoyable. However, Rage for Order will always be a personal favorite, and perhaps one of my favorite albums of all time.
@@christopherrobin361 Cheers Chris! :)
Saw them for rage for order tour Santa Monica Civic May 13th 1986 who opened for them you asked black and blue and Kiel such a great concert
Nice interview. He seems like a nice guy!
SO SHWEEEETTT...much love Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO.[the music worldwide}
...soooo cool..
Too bad that only Michael and Eddie are the only members left in QR. It's not QR.
Geoff sounds a lot like William Shatner.
Yes I agree
He seems to be in a much better place now than he was after the split with QR.
Lawyers will do that to you..
Like many divorces, it was necessary.
Just for next time get two mics man, otherwise really good interview
It’s Jackson Galaxy.
So he had 8 years to prep for that second interview and just one mic???
Did Geoff spit on the interviewer?
If you're going to do interviews with...really anyone who is worth the time to interview...Have the proper equipment to do it right. It makes it so much more worth watching for the listener. Interviewing 101.
btw...Geoff, you're frikking awesome. 🤟🏻
❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Geoff Tate🤘
Worst Rock Divorce ever, that I can think of. Feel bad for him. However, last time I saw Queensryche, they were very good.
I wish Geoff the best. Great guy.
No Tate no degarmo= no queensryche
Isn't he the cat whisperer guy on Animal Planet.
I know those eye ! . . .
Opening up for those bands those bands suck compared to Queensryche I’d be disappointed for them to open up and than the other bands came on to preform.
Wow he still took a dig at Wilson and Jackson can't even say their names.
Because he's a bitter old man, who knows he can't sing the songs the way they're supposed to sound. And I would be bitter too if I owned the idea of Queensryche Cabaret.
Shut the F up
Queensryche is Tate Degarmo and his body of work unmatched
Eddie and Michael are good musicians but would be NOTHING without those 2
Go get your shine box
Eddie and Michael should rename themselves The Coat tail riders... After Degarmo left, Wilton tried to step up, but could not pul it off.
LSD is what killed Queensryche (as they were)... Lead Singers Disease! Ego ruins everything!
Sad that Covid hit right after this.
Cool dude but he looks so not rock n roll now with that hat and the glasses.
He almost seems glad that queensryche isn't doing so good.
Too bad he got full of himself and thought he was bigger than the band!! Another Dennis De Young or Steve Perry!
He got LVS...
He was the band if you never heard Geoff sing you never would have heard of Ryche.
@@djft6944 Wrong. QR still kicks major a$$
Queensryche was Geoff Tate, nobody cares about QR now
Well, speaking of “tough gos,” say what you want about the new QR, the truth is is they singing better than you do as of late. Neither outfit will ever draw its former glory, but at least they didn’t ruin their careers with a sleazy cabaret show
Queensryche replaced Geoff with a singer that sounds like him. That says a lot, Geoff’s voice is Queensryche, it died without him.
@@texan996 Yeah, but at least HE’S singing the songs folks want to here. What’s Ol’ Geoff doing? The bar and grill circuit?
@@paisleyprincess7996 If so, Geoff’s singing his own work based on his own success (dignity) not riding on someone’s coat tail. There is no song led by karaoke like singer worth listening too.
@@texan996 he too is riding on the coattails of his former band’s once glorious past. Don’t think he’s not
@@paisleyprincess7996 Not for a second. There are no legendary guitar players. Jeff is Queensryche. Besides, I am referring to the imposter trying to mirror Tate’s voice, he’s riding on someone’s coat tail.
