I must admit, I had never heard this Tokyo concert until now. I am absolutely floored by this live performance. I have never heard this kind of live performance other than Priest live vengeance and this better than that. What a voice.
Geoff Tate is known for his high register, but he's also one of the most emotive/expressive vocalists of all time. The middle section of this song is a prime example.
Most bands have that ONE concert that just stands out above all others.. This one of Queensryche is a masterpiece! Just as Iron Maiden’s Beast over Hammersmith 1982.. All cylinders are firing and history is being made on stage!
And Justice For All for me personally is Metallica's best album. The material and energy they had on that album is unmatched and even Master Of Puppets can't match it in my honest opinion. In saying all that, even AJFA era Metallica stood NO CHANCE against Operation Mindcrime era Queensryche. My understanding is they eventually got booted from that tour because Metallica was intimidated and getting embarrassed.
I saw this tour i was 18 years old and man they were in the zone OMG 😳😳😳 beyond music geniuses 💯 Chris degarmo and Michael Wilton just in the zone and Geoff Tate just a beast Eddie and Scott just be killer 💯🥁🎸🎸
@@countgrishnackh6823 The Warning was their 1st full length studio album. Their 1st self titled release was a 4 song EP and later which included a bonus track song "Prophecy" which is a killer song.
Can you imagine being a band who plays live and sounds exactly like their studio songs, playing extremely complicated compositions...and being a pop/rap act that has to lip sync and autotune even the simplest of melodies? The music industry is a joke today.
4-octave Decades after joining Queensryche, operatic voice can still reach the rafters on metal hits such as “Eyes of a Stranger” and “Walk in the Shadows.” There's a reason for that,
Queensryche at their peak were an extremely creative band. I would love to see this video footage remastered and cleaned up so it is clearer and sharper.
Man did all you young people miss something special oh, and I'm not talking about the 80s I'm talking about Queensryche live as great as these videos are you really should hurt at live what Jeff could do to you, and what the band would do unbelievable. Sorry for the misspelling talk to text sucks
The Warning has the raw energy and prime Geoff Tate's vocal power and range. Operation Mindcrime, however, has their best song structures, transitions, and the awesome concept album storyline. They essentially polished their sound on Mindcrime despite the fact that Tate's vocal range and power, though still extraordinary at that point, was starting to slowly slip. Only knock I have against Mindcrime is the subpar production, but the Warning's production also wasn't very good either. It's the toss up between Empire and Rage For Order for the best produced Queensryche album.
These guys were so TIGHT!!!! Sounds EXACTLY like the studio recording!!!

Go to RUclips and look up Nightwish live at Wacken 2013 full concert. You will be blown away.
The energy and enthusiasm of YOUTH is Human existence at it peak. Queensryche illustrates this in this performance.
top notch singer

ohhhh that section... the best
❤
one of the greatest metal bands of all time.
This is larger than life. THE Ultimate Performance Of All Times (to come). This just lefts you speechless.
Their brand of metal is unique, brilliant, powerful, intimate and beautiful all at the same time - magnificent.
Most bands have that ONE concert that just stands out above all others.. This one of Queensryche is a masterpiece! Just as Iron Maiden’s Beast over Hammersmith 1982.. All cylinders are firing and history is being made on stage!
That is and always will be the best drum set ever.
Couldnt imagine being Metallica in 1988 knowing you have to go on stage after Queensryche with Scott Rockenfield on drums while you got Lars
Right 😂😂😂
hahahah

At the time I was disappointed and shocked that Metallica headlined. I saw this show. I have always felt QR was/is a better band.

Hasta hoy 07 de abril del 2023 escuché este concierto del año 83, como diríamos en CR, "están solos estos maes..."

I bet his vocal teacher in Seattle went, oh fuck, I created a monster !
Saw this tour. Jaw hit the floor.

One of the best emotional singers in the world, when Geoff tate was young.
Perfection 👌
Queensryche is the band you don't want opening for you.

Depends, sometimes good, sometimes not. QR has been very inconsistent over the years that I've seen them.
Poor Metallica
Good thing that they were were opening for Dio

The Rage tour? thats must have been amazing.

Nobody, but NOBODY, had the raw power Geoff Tate did in his prime.

Obviously none of ya'll have heard of Tony Harnell of T.N.T those days has a higher octave 🎼😂
Queensryche at their peak were an extremely creative band. I would love to see this video footage remastered and cleaned up so it is clearer and sharper.
watch the QR live in Tokyo version, blows this away.

I saw QR open for Kiss in Austin back in 85.
Tate
Degarmo
Wilton
Jackson
Rockenfield
The Best Queensryche EVER!!!
Kick ass!
Strong Iron Maiden influence. But who cares! One of the finest band to rock the stage!

I saw them live when they toured with Dio when hardly anyone knew then, they were fantastic.
awesome
🤩
Espetáculo 👏👏👏
🤘
İf i had a 3 wish it'd be for the geoff voice recover
TATE: 0:41 It's treason, then...
Just my opinion but The Warning is better than Operation Mindcrime.
No question, EP is better than it too.
Yes !
No doubts. Rage For Order and The Warning >>
💩 YEAH, BUT MINDCRIME ALSO IZ A MASTERPIECE. AFTER THAT RECORD DIDN'T LIKE EM
