That's why I like Creek Fishing Adventures - John keeps it real! lot of RUclipsrs wouldn't include the first mile of fishing - the lack of fish and rough terrain - but John keeps it real! That's the way fishing is. The tough days make you appreciate the good, productive ones. Your perseverance paid off - in the end catching several nice ones. Thanks for sharing and God bless!
Ever think people dont want to watch 20 minutes of nothing? Also he still cuts the hell out of the video so... lmao. Js. Still a good video and similar to the ones ill be posting once i get a action camera cept i fish for river brown trout mostly
"I should have turned back long ago, but I cant." 🤣 Dude, I know the feeling. That was like watching myself explore (struggle) through practically every overgrown trout stream here in SE Wisconsin. Glad you pushed through it though. Sometimes we need those tough days to better appreciate the good ones!
For me its always hard to stop, turn around and go back when going through a creek or river. Always want to see what's around the next bend or even better maybe there's a honey hole around the next bend.
😆 I feel ya buddy I've done the same exact thing for 20 or more years. I'm always telling myself well I'll just walk around this next bend then I'll go back then 3 hours and 3 miles later I make that long walk back thru the woods and fields that always turns out to be all growed up briar fields 😆 🤣
You are a very dedicated creek fisherman! I would have went around that log jam or went to another creek! I guess that’s why I’m watching your videos and not the other way around.
You definitely go the extra mile to catch fish. That's why I enjoy your channel. At my age, I probably wouldn't venture through all of that, but I enjoy watching others do it. I'm stuck in central Ga for 2 more years and then I will be back in Tenn to fully retire. I'm buying a nice kayak and enjoy the fishing. I'll be in middle Tenn so I will have lots of options. Keep up the great work John.
Holey moley! That is an obstacle course and a half. I was not expecting to see you going tree-climbing, John. Lol! So many downed trees. Must have been a tornado or two in that area at some point. I'd be scared of snakes climbing in all those branches in the water after that one trip where you saw 4 of them in that one tree. At least the water still looks mostly nice and clear. You found where the fish are, though! Great job, man! As always, I enjoyed watching!
Being brave to go into cold water with jeans on to catch panfish is something i would definitely pass on. You on the other hand are more of a go getter no matter the terrain. My hats off to you
This one hits all the emotions. 😂 glad you got out of there. Loved it! It’s easy to sit here and tell you a better way. Ha I was laughing watching you get through that giant tree. Next time go to the other end. There’s fewer limbs on the trunk end. 😂😂😂 Great job!
Man John, I caught a 1 pound pumpkinseed in my local urban creek next day there was a condominium that dumped its pool water in the creek, caused a big fishkill in that hole. Man it was tough, that happens a lot around here, have you ever heard of that?
I love when the pools almost look blue. We don’t have water like that up here. That tunnel is spooky - feels like a good way to get spiders all over you 😂😂
Something kept you pushing up into that creek brother. I may have turned back at the timber jungle gym but nope not John. That's what makes your Creek Fishing Adventures so much fun to watch. And you find a new stretch you haven't fished and BAM!! Smallies and Spots for your troubles. Great video. Way to follow your Spidey sense. Blessings brother
Looks like a storm and high water washed this creek out.. sometimes this happens when super fast flooding takes the big ones down stream to where the fish can find a safe hole in the deeper water in the bigger section of the creek.
Weird looking stream...Why does it have that hazy hue to it. Almost like a radio active glow. Finally a Smallmouth and a Spot. Nice job working that creek John. Looks like you can access it back towards where you worked to. Curious what the stone bridge was for? Drive way?
Jim Dandy of an adventure. Patience and perseverance, Some times the bite is off and it’s frustrating, and people give up. The best, like yourself, work through it, figure it out and have their effort rewarded. Myself, I think there was a strong storm that rearranged the habitat and jinxed the fish.
Man that looks like a great spot for the little Topwater Frog. I’ve bushwhacked through some Gnarled up stuff to get to the River lol. Stay safe my Friend Semper Fidelis
Oftentimes the paths least traveled lead to the best fishing spots. I've been to a lot of spots that looked really good but were overfished. Unless stocked regularly, common fishing locations get fished out. Congrats on staying the course and finding the fish!
John this was a perfect example of what you always say. Get out and explore the creeks and you will be surprised by what you may find. I love these videos and one day I hope to be able to explore like that. Thanks for the adventure and the great action, God Bless aqnd Go KATS!!!!!
@@outdoorsforachange not if it wasn't a recent event. It settles on the bottom and causes that blue green color. If that creek flooded over summer it would have worked out but pushed the fish down where there is more O2. I did see signs of high water..

Crazy how dynamic creeks and rivers are. This is the first year I've actively waded and fished the local river and this fall I learned first hand how fast those fish can move. Found a new stretch with tons of grass in an otherwise rocky/sandy river. First two days I had 20 fish days and caught two PB 3lbs smallies. Went back two days later and got skunked twice in the same spots. Judging by the amount of grass coming up and presumably decomposing, I'd guess I caught those fish as they were on their way out. Was a pretty big hit to my confidence though not gonna lie. Worst part is not being completely sure what the cause was. Maybe some days you just don't find active fish. All part of the learning curve I suppose.

I’m inspired to walk the creek at my lake. It’s pretty shallow. Any tips on best lures for creeks? I know there are large mouth , Muskie and trout besides panfish
Fishing was tough for me today caught 2 largemouths in 4 hours of fishing they was keyed in on dragon flys , frogs and bait fish . I usually catch 5 in 30 minutes
This was incredible man. Such a hard spot to get to and they made you work for those fish! I hate the feeling of wet jeans, I don't know how you did it!
Last Wednesday evening after work I decided to fish a creek I've been near every day for at least 55 years of my 56 I've been alive. I've always wondered if it held fish. An hour later, 20 fish landed! I had to go micro-light to get them, 1lb mono, 1/80oz Mule jigs and 1.2" Mule minnows. The reel was a vintage Daiwa 500c on a Okuma Celia 5.5' rod. Mostly just diinker rock bass(we call them Redeye Bass up here in the Blue Ridge Mountains) and some hand sized gills A tight line is a tight line! I've been smiling ever since! This creek is walking distance from my house 😊
So much of wading a new area is just seeing what's out there. Did you see Online Outdoorsman's video where he shoots the docks for crappie? I tried it yesterday (except I was shooting under cypress trees) and caught some nice sunfish and rock bass.

You need to work a little floating frog slow. I bought a 12 pack(various sizes) on Amazon for $15. Take the double up hooks out and put a wire weedless #3 or #4 hook down.👍
I bet they bite more on night crawlers and red worms, thats what bites near me the most, I try using some soft plastics/spinners/top and it’s always super slow but when I use worms on a hook I catch like 10-15 fish
You sure do go through some tough obstacles sometimes John. Usually, I will give up or go around as some of these are not worth the risk of injury to me lol.
