Spider-Man 2 almost felt too similar to the original when I started, but playing through I started to appreciate all of the new mechanics that were previously absent. Being able to ride around on Yoshi was fun, and the big head spaceship was very funny. Great game.
The talking flowers were a bit annoying at first but after I completed the Howard mission I started to understand the deeper meaning behind their words.
I used to feel conflicted about killing random people for no reason but thanks to Dunkey’s review I can safely say I am a good man. My father would be proud

I'm honestly a bit surprised that Dunkey was able to find an English dub though, as the original version of the game is only available in Portuguese (sometimes with Tagalog subtitles). It hasn't even been available online since 1997, so Dunk must be an avid collector...

The side quests were so much better in this one. I loved the mission in which Miles gets angry at Howard for not helping him with his essay and tells him - “I’m a god in human form. Lightning bolts shoot from my fingertips”
I liked how collecting Spider Coins made the spidermobile bigger and eventually you got to fly to the moon and defeat Doug Bowser, granting Sony the rights to all of nintendo's intellectual property.
With the web wings added to traversal along with the grappling hook webs, this game finally did it, what no game has done before. This game made me feel like Batman
This video was really a roller coaster ride, reaching the soaring heights of 10/10 and the abysmal lows of 6/10. One moment I’m clapping and cheering just to be screaming and sobbing the next, then to start the cycle over in a matter of seconds. A truly amazing video, really made me FEEL like a gamer.

Hi-Fi Rush sticks out like a sore thumb as the only diamond in that rough. Do wish Dunkey wasn't implicitly dismissive of that game with his remark there, but who knows, maybe it'll get a positive mention in a Best of 2023 list.

That is if they actually did, I saw footage of Peter riding a bike which looked like mostly standard "walking sim section that might as well be a long cutscene" boredom so I don't have high expectations of any section where you don't play as Spiderman, but I haven't seen MJ stuff so guess they could vary in quality between characters?

They really made me feel like this game was Spider Man 2 by making sure there was at least 2 of every character in the game. Such incredible consistency!
In all seriousness, I could tell you were showing Spider-Man 1 there. But yeah, when I first started Spider-Man 2, I definitely did have the feeling like it was more of the same. But having now beaten the game, I really think they improved on the previous games in most areas. The pacing is excellent, the bosses are thrilling, and the side activities are actually much more interesting now

I went from getting platinum on Spider-Man 1, to barely finishing mikes morales and Spider-Man 2. My own fault for getting games built around a 15 year old combat system tho, it just gets dry

Am I the only one who's been kinda disappointed by this game? Especially the first few hours. Web swinging is fantastic but this game is like obsessed with making you swing as little as possible. So many of the story missions, side missions, and objectives stop you in your tracks to do some boring shit that's not swinging or punching people. I could forgive it if the story was at least hype but the dialogue is kinda terrible. And everyone's delivery feels weirdly stilted except for Norman, he's still killing it. I dunno, it's still fun but it feels like they didn't learn the right lessons from the first game.
I enjoyed the Spiderman 2 experience. The reviews of this game were top notch and helped to transport you into the game world. Each review blended seamlessly with the gameplay. I wfound myself absently scrolling through reviews while swinging about the city---at one point accidentally hitting a car which then clipped into a rainbow. You can tell they put a lot of effort in this time around and didn't rely too much on procedurally generated content. 4/10 not enough electro gameplay.

So I was playing as Peter right and randomly ran into miles fighting some criminals and we did the pointing meme. Best game ever made.
I went to get some water and paused at 5:10. When I pressed play on my headset, it started playing classical music from spotify, but I just thought the video kept playing. I read the entire review from "Metric_Monkeh" just totally believing Donk-man had sincerely left me the time to read the entire thing talking about how Biblical the game is...

5:08 I like on how that guy was boasting about xbox having the better games when the the games on that list are two remasters, hi-fi rush (which I heard was good so at least theres that but still its also on pc), a racing game we've already gotten, a game that is pretty mush the same game every year that is also on every platform, mid fallout in space, nominee for stinker of the year, a minecraft spinoff that nobody played (which is also on every platform anyway), and this one takes the cake a game that released last year as an exclusive to playstation before coming to xbox a year later.
Xbox fans have slowly been losing their minds for years. They're like the Sonic fans of consoles.

Hi-Fi Rush sticks out like a sore thumb as the only diamond in that rough. Do wish Dunkey wasn't implicitly dismissive of that game with his remark there, but who knows, maybe it'll get a positive mention in a Best of 2023 list.

This is one of the best games of all time. In most games, they want you to believe you are this guy, the guy you are playing as, but guess what, you never feel like you're actually the guy. In this game, you really feel like you're spider-man 2 and that's simply why this is one of the best games.

umm ackshually there's only one mission where you play as Hailey, and it was cool (and not even part of the main story). plus they straight up just gave MJ a gun at the end and it was pretty fun, except I dunno why Spider-Man doesn't just use it himself. but who cares

That is if they actually did, I saw footage of Peter riding a bike which looked like mostly standard "walking sim section that might as well be a long cutscene" boredom so I don't have high expectations of any section where you don't play as Spiderman, but I haven't seen MJ stuff so guess they could vary in quality between characters?

The reviews are supposed to help you decide. Nobody wants to blow money on a game they'll end up not enjoying. Especially not in the american economy.

@@shellumAnd that’s easier said than done. A lot of reviews try to give games an objective score instead of focusing what they liked or did not like. This video makes a point about people having different taste in games, and treating it like an objective truth.

It usually has to be defective in some way, otherwise, you generally get store credit at best.

They really made me feel like this game was Spider Man 2 by making sure there was at least 2 of every character in the game. Such incredible consistency!
In all seriousness, I could tell you were showing Spider-Man 1 there. But yeah, when I first started Spider-Man 2, I definitely did have the feeling like it was more of the same. But having now beaten the game, I really think they improved on the previous games in most areas. The pacing is excellent, the bosses are thrilling, and the side activities are actually much more interesting now
Pacing is excellent?? You’re trippin. Side activities are better, but it’s the third game with the exact same combat. I went from getting platinum on Spider-Man 1, to barely finishing mikes morales and Spider-Man 2. My own fault for getting games built around a 15 year old combat system tho, it just gets dry

Am I the only one who's been kinda disappointed by this game? Especially the first few hours. Web swinging is fantastic but this game is like obsessed with making you swing as little as possible. So many of the story missions, side missions, and objectives stop you in your tracks to do some boring shit that's not swinging or punching people. I could forgive it if the story was at least hype but the dialogue is kinda terrible. And everyone's delivery feels weirdly stilted except for Norman, he's still killing it. I dunno, it's still fun but it feels like they didn't learn the right lessons from the first game.
I enjoyed the Spiderman 2 experience. The reviews of this game were top notch and helped to transport you into the game world. Each review blended seamlessly with the gameplay. I wfound myself absently scrolling through reviews while swinging about the city---at one point accidentally hitting a car which then clipped into a rainbow. You can tell they put a lot of effort in this time around and didn't rely too much on procedurally generated content. 4/10 not enough electro gameplay.
