- Today we Elucidate the deeds of the architect of Humanity's downfall: Erebus.
Serving as the 1st Chaplain of the Word Bearers Legion during the era of the Great Crusade, this conniving thief and charlatan began to poison the Imperium from within.
Manipulating his kinsmen, his Primarch and even the Warmaster to fulfill his goals, the self-styled 'Hand of Destiny' has near singlehandedly doomed all living things to a slow and painful death.

No I genuinely think he’s poorly written, I genuinely enjoy well written villains, and 40 has plenty of them, Erebus is not one of them imho.

Erebus is one of the most well written villains in any fictional setting. From Horus Rising to The End And The Death, his story arc builds villainy to new heights. I can't think of another villain in an IP who captures the overall disdain of a Fandom with the phrase "Fuck Erebus"...that's powerful (and deserves its own T-shirt). Grammaticus' character arc is loopy, but actually makes sense when you think about it. He's not a natural Perpetual, he was engineered to become one. His natural ability was as a Logokine, and thats what explains his chaotic mindest in my opinion. I felt he started as a Heretic and grew into a Loyalist through his friendship with Oll, which is one of the only Horus Heresy characters to do so (other one I can think of is Actae, which was forced).

The best character of Horus Heresy, change my mind. It doesn't help that he is so often used as a plot device, truly a Hand of destiny.

I was supremely pissed off at that, and then even more upset that Abaddon didn't take his head right after. I was cursing both their names, one for being villainous and the other for stepping outside of their character.
