Its because he calls it nori when we all know he doesn't call it that in private. This whole cultural appropriation thing and people trying to make everyone feel acknowledged is getting to peoples head. Just shut the fuck up and live your life like an intellectual.
0:51 'what we will use to moisten it is use our sushi rice', ok, so he never 'moistens the nori' he just puts rice on it, could have saved me a minute of my life
Yeah guys he may not be a world chef or professional cook, but he’s doing good and it looks good, keep up the good work! In fact I just followed his steps and my sushi tastes great!
i need help buying GOOD sea weed or nori... mine always over powers the sushi w its strong flavor... I cant get it restaurant style at home. its normally soft and doesn't have a taste...
they zoomed out cause did you notice the messed up part of the sushi roll? they knew when he cut it it would seperate and mess up. so tried to cover it up instead of just redoing the take with a new roll. Im sorry but was a sloppy video tbh and idk how hes a chef lol. i could go into detail but i wont.
appreciate it and you keeping it real, with the imperfection on the roll. Just made my first batch and it turned out well but, I guess I need to practice filling the left and right edge more haha came out a little flat on the ends 🤘
Just made sushi myself, loved the flavor and ingredients I used but for some reason I couldn’t get the nori to cut, idk if it was the knife I was using or the nori prep. (I used a steak knife cuz that’s the sharpest one we have) I would always smash my roll before the nori cut
Try using a non-serrated blade and use a knife sharpener to get it sharp before cutting, as the rolls can be tricky to slice clean. Make sure to clean the knife after sharpening and before cutting too.
Bring a sushi chef for over seven years now I have never heard something so funny. Moistening seaweed? Since when do you get the nori sheets moist except for the humidity on the rice. All you are doing is rolling a small futomaki and not doing a great job at it . And by the way clean the knife for cutting that roll for God's sake.
I wouldn't post something like that on the Internet, where your nori just fell apart. if you are going to teach someone, then do it well. Or at least explain why nori can break so badly.
OMG. This is an insult to any sushi chef. This guy has not the slightest idea or understanding of how to make sushi. The video should be called "How not not make sushi"
I don’t think it matters THAT much but traditionally the shiny side is down so it is on the outside. Depends on if your making your sushi with rice on the outside (Mostly Western, I believe) or seaweed on the outside (traditional)
I hate when people can't make proper sushi in the supermarket and don't give a damn about freshness of sushi, letting it sit there for days so that you get sick! It's just an insult!
no this is when people who dont properly learn how to make sushi thinks they know how to and tries to teach others to make it before fully understanding the art of correctly and properly setting up and performing sushi making.
I'm not a sushi chef, but been cooking professionally 10+ yrs. When he said leave 1/4 inch, then I saw what he actually did. I literally bust out laughing
I don't see why there are so many haters. Literally you guys hate on everything! All he's doing is showing you how to moisten seaweed 🙄
Megan Ashlin lol!! Right! 😂
lol
What the video barely got dislikes
Haters and likers.. People won't ask for your opinion if they like or not what they see. Literally you guy, who are you in the end, guy... .
Its because he calls it nori when we all know he doesn't call it that in private. This whole cultural appropriation thing and people trying to make everyone feel acknowledged is getting to peoples head. Just shut the fuck up and live your life like an intellectual.
Sweet, simple, to the point; exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Perfect! love that
he got straight to it and didn’t talk our ears off thank you sir!
0:51 'what we will use to moisten it is use our sushi rice', ok, so he never 'moistens the nori' he just puts rice on it, could have saved me a minute of my life
and yet you chose to waste countless others' minutes with this useless comment XD
Yeah guys he may not be a world chef or professional cook, but he’s doing good and it looks good, keep up the good work! In fact I just followed his steps and my sushi tastes great!

I really liked the technique used in this video and the style that the roll was made. Nice and big!
So easy, lol I love hearing other people complain, when even I could do it. Thank you Thank you chef.
I think it was too zoomed out. I wanted to see the sushi actually being made.
they zoomed out cause did you notice the messed up part of the sushi roll? they knew when he cut it it would seperate and mess up. so tried to cover it up instead of just redoing the take with a new roll. Then search sushi being made. lol It's not rocket science.
I am gonna try this technique next time I make sushi I keep making it horribly wrong I fold it in right but always comes out not the right way for me
I loved this! Super easy to follow and helpful. Made some sushi last night following this and it was superb :D
Thank you I was about to spray it with a spray bottle I didn’t know it was so absorbent that the rice alone was enough!
Nope not enough…that rice did nothing to the Nori..
I’ve had sushi many times and the Nori is soft and pliable and edible..
Does anyone know if you can make facon with SOY wrappers?
appreciate it and you keeping it real, with the imperfection on the roll. Just made my first batch and it turned out well but, I guess I need to practice filling the left and right edge more haha came out a little flat on the ends 🤘
Whats that box called? I cant find it, i need that container for nori
I have unused nori leftover can I still used it?
Sprouts in sushi. So smart and thank you

looks great!
Be sure the "quarter inch" uncovered at the end is HOW long!
just the vid i needed, thx!
What a nice name for an alga roll 'nori' 🍀🍀🍀
thank you
Fabulous 😀
Thanks sir!
Seaweed is originated from Korea. Seaweed originated around 1640 in Korea and Japanese people consumed seaweed far later than Koreans
My nori sheet just won’t nori sheet like it’s supposed to 😂😂
Oh you use heat. I always quickly dipped it in water then wondered why the fuck it fell apart lol
if I use sushi the Sushi seaweed with a rice too hot and it wet so it taste bad so I made it return
Bring a sushi chef for over seven years now I have never heard something so funny. Moistening seaweed? Since when do you get the nori sheets moist except for the humidity on the rice. Amateur chef here and even I was appalled at the technique and how little he cared. Very disrespectful to Japanese culture
Aidan Byrne lol
Aidan Byrne ye... i see Japanese people dying from heart attacks just because he used something differently. Fucking snowflakes
yea this video annoyed me in so many ways. I really dont know how hes a chef, horrible camera work and video setup/editing.
Cool😂

SUshiiii!!!!🍣
You can tell he's a restaurant chef bc he got 6 pieces out of that little thing lol
Wow! This was super helpful!!!poop
What a sweet guy💘💘💘
carry fornirnia rorrr!
OMG. This is an insult to any sushi chef. This guy has not the slightest idea or understanding of how to make sushi. The video should be called "How not not make sushi"
how to break your sushiroll
You didn't say how long to toast it over the flame....."just a min", that could mean anything...
a minute? thanks now my house is on fire
👆
Glossy side up or down??? Jeez!
I don’t think it matters THAT much but traditionally the shiny side is down so it is on the outside. Depends on if your making your sushi with rice on the outside (Mostly Western, I believe) or seaweed on the outside (traditional)
I played Papa's Sushiria and I still did a better job than that
This is what happens when foreigners attempt the art of sushi making
No! This is what happens when people do it without any respect for the culinary art in general. It doesn't have anything to do with foreigners...
I hate when people can't make proper sushi in the supermarket and don't give a damn about freshness of sushi, letting it sit there for days so that you get sick! It's just an insult!
lol stfu goddamn weaboo

FOUR IN HER🥵FOUR IN HER💀
wtf this is? lol
Fail ! Hahaha
What the fk is this? Very disrespectful.
As a sushi chef , this is painful to watch
I'm not a sushi chef, but been cooking professionally 10+ yrs. When he said leave 1/4 inch, then I saw what he actually did. I literally bust out laughing
Haha did anyone notice he broke it and rice was falling out? 🤣 amateur
