He beat those drums like they owed him money.
But not in a good way
He beat those drums like you beat your meat.
Although I enjoyed Joseph's performance, your comment was genuinely funny. Kudos for making me laugh.
You MEAN cymbals...he beat THE CYMBALS ‘like they owed him money’
Hahahahah ahahahahhahaha
I love how the band leader asks the drummer if its ok to play his drums. Drummers are really strict about letting people sit behind their drums and that was really respectfull.
Yes. It was very nice to see. I wonder if Guillermo told him to go as wild as he wanted to go.
he probably regretted it after that thumping of his precious babies
It was planned and rehearsed
I totally agree, I played on the worship team for about 20 years, I’ve known the musicians a lot longer than that, even after all that time I would never touch anyone’s instrument without getting permission first, the guitarists and bass players would always joke and tell me it was fine and I didn’t need to ask permission, it didn’t matter to me, it was all about respect, a man’s guitar or bass or instrument is like his woman, you don’t touch. I always got permission before playing bass or guitar with someone else’s instrument. It’s respect.
No only drummers that are total DB, s are like that . Obviously that was rehearsed & them drums are paid for by a TV conglomerate that's worth billions of dollars. If he broke a stick or drum head it's covered. I play and don't mind if a friend sits behind my kit. Most people are timid when they try the drums for the first time or if it's someone else's kit.Levitt just played em like Dave Grohl cuz he can play.
When that one friend comes over and wants to "play" your drums

Pro quality cymbals are pro quality because that won't crack them.
@@flacidhouse350 Not at all
@@flacidhouse350 Not really. You can crack any cymbals if your playing sloppily. For example hitting them too hard and when I just started playing drums I cracked one of my cymbals because I didn't know much about how to play. See how he's not playing with wrists but rather trashing his arms around. That can lead to cymbals deteriorating as well. It was scary to watch this as it felt like at any given moment the cymbals could crack and they're nice cymbals.
Edit: I didnt mean to not only play with wrist all the time. I meant that he was throwing his arms around as if he were trying to swatt a fuckton of flies or midges away

As a drummer myself and from drummers I know, it's pretty common to be self taught.
johnny ste yeah, feel yeah
you're not a drummer if you had to be taught and thats not saying lessons are bad btw
I agree to an extent, but once you start learning about rudiments and reading charts it opens up a whole new world. My Dad when I was a kid insisted that I take lessons if I was going to play drums, and I never regretted having to go to my lessons.
Gregg Hernandez I was self taught but looking back now that I don't play anymore I wish that I had taken lessons
løuise Nothing Wrong with taking lessons. The basics of drumming on a kit are simple and is easy to self teach, but to progress and learn new styles and concepts I would recommend taking lessons. If you need lessons to learn the basics no shame there either.

So true, drums are really the only kind of instrument you can practice without a drum set. That's exactly how I started before I got my first set when I was a kid.
PC Principal be careful. JGL is under your bed with his gorilla hands and baseball bats, ready to destroy your kit.
Absolute bullshit. Any decent musician can practice their instrument without it in hand. You can practice strumming and/or tempo or lead lines as long as you have a reasonably decent understanding of your instrument, you can absolutely practice and improve without that instrument in hand.
But not without a metronome!
The very first piece of advice a pro drummer gave me as I was starting to learn was use a light touch. If you can play a beat at a whisper, it really helps build stick control, and makes it possible to have a more dynamic groove, instead of playing at one volume the whole time. You can't use accents if you're just hitting everything as hard as you can. I'm also self taught, though I have had the opportunity to have professional drummers critique my playing and throw me some pointers.

I learned to play drums by tapping my index fingers on a CD player I held in my hands as I rode the school bus. By the time I actually sat behind a kit it all came naturally. Once you learn the coordination and patterns, the rest is easy.
true until Jazz/Prog happens to you.
You learn how to play music from doing it, and go to 50000$ music school to learn jazz😂
but there's a lot to learn in regards to controlling how hard you hit and where you hit it to get the right tone. I don't consider that easy.
John Miller yes dynamics, stick control, etc aren't possible, but I think the first obstacle you face is coordination. You don't need a drum set for that.
