I don't agree what was said in blossoms in adversity, Hu Yi tian acts and fighting skills acts were good .
I didnot agree with Blossom in Adversity comments. Both male lead and female lead lead performed well. Horse riding instruction scene touched my ❤

I totally disagree with negative review on Blossoms in Adversity (BID) I find d storyline, ML & FL are fantastic. When I read comments on HYT acting, I always find reviewer getting mixed up betwern d character he is playing & his acting. Watch HYT in d opening of Handsome Siblings. His display of emotions when his lover was killed & he was stopped from touching her before dying. In BID he is acting as a prince with strict upbringing of never display their emotions.
Secondly - BID had been in top 5 trending drama since its release is proof of d popularity of d drama. Ofc d acting of both ML ( HYT) & FL

I disagree with the criticism for Blossoms in Adversity. I thought the lead actors were great and they had chemistry. I also enjoyed Ju Jinyi in Blossoms. I feel there is just an automatic hatred for her in whatever drama she does and it’s gotten to be a point where it’s out of hand. Maybe people just hate her because she’s pretty and can’t get past that. Celebrities & idols get hate too if they don’t appear beautiful to them, gained weight, get too skinny, etc. It’s ridiculous already!

Haters are going to hate!! I loved both In Blossom and Blossoms in Adversity. The stories were engaging and I was anxiously waiting for the next episodes. I give them both 8s. The acting was fun and emotional to watch.
Gong Jun’s acting was successful only on the back of Zhang Zahan in word of honor. Pity all of China got it wrong ousting ZZH. Big mistake.

Dropped it as well saw the modern drama where he was a Dr and female CEO forced him to marry her ..thats the only one he did a decent job in ..he has zero chemestry with female actors only with the male actors

Ju jingyi can never act prefessionally, she is one dimensional and is too afraid to look anything other than her pretty self. She is not an actress.
Hu yitian cannot make the correct facial expressions- for the whole drama his face is mostly the one expression.
Gong jun was prob the most experienced and diverse actor of them all. Yang mi was just dull and too afraid to look ‘ugly’. Her acting style is also one dimensional like Ju Jingyi. These actresses need to understand acting is not the same as modelling for popularity

The first time I watched Ju Jingyi in "The Blooms at Ruyi Pavilion", I thought she was very stiff and couldn't act. Then I watched her drama a second time, "Rebirth For You". I am convinced she can't act and will not waste my time watching another of her drama.
I thought Rebirth For You was sweet and she appeared to act naturally. Haven't gotten to watch The Blooms at Ruyi Pavilion where she plays with Zhang Zhe Han. I love watching them together.

@@jessiechew4192 I never thought GJ was a good actor, he got by because of his looks. In WOH ZZH was the talented actor, GJ was not. After the false and unjustified accusations and then the horrific treatments of ZZH and seeing GJ getting lead roles with his bad acting when there are many more better actors, I couldn’t stand watching him. I will never watch him, even if my favourite actors are in it.
Female lead acting in cdramas are for me often very boring. But I am not sure if it is their lack of acting skills or the characters are written that way, or they always have to show a perfect face, or the directors are lacking as well. The characters don´t have internesting characteristics to show.

Watching BTS videos it is obvious the actors and actresses are performing according to the director's specific and detailed directions. Viewers should take what Chinese Startlet reports and say with a grain of salt.

I agree 100% with their and others assessment on all these actors. I have been home bound for over 10 years; I have lost count on the number of Chinese, Korean, Western and Japanese shows that I have watched. I watch several episodes a day and every day, very often I binge watch series. I believe I have a good understanding of what a good actor should be like. There are actors who can emote very little, but with their eyes, demeanor, subtle movements etc can speak volumes. Simon Gong and some of the others noted here are not good/great actors.
I don’t think it is fair for you to say we are vicious netizens because we give honest reviews, including negative ones. There are people who live to be truly nasty, mean and defamatory, you shouldn’t lump us all together.
Yang Mi certainly was better in legend of Fuyao and Pearl Eclipse. Red moon pact is not one of her best drama. Simon Gong more likable in his role as Dongfang Yuechu.
Zhang Jingyi done the best she could considering it was her first costume drama. Hu Yitian was not bad at all - although their chemistry was not on fire but it was there.
I don’t care much for Wang Churan and Ju Jingyi they both too flat for me. Pretty face but no acting skills.
Zhang Ruo Yun in Joy of life season 2 was awesome the same as season1, he kept me captivating with everything he did. I like a lot of supporting roles including the villain second prince 😂 he is funny sometimes and his expressions got me to like him( I saw him in Rebel Princess the first time and I liked him there too.)
Yang Mi should watch Li Qin in War of Faith she nailed her character in that republican era.
I’m watching The Double and The Tale of Rose they both are enjoyable to watch 😊

Wang Churan is gorgeous whatever ..... I find her acting okay but she is so decorative ..... gorgeous, ZJY's face is truly blank, I find her acting mediocre. Simon Gong is having a bad choice of dramas, He is very decorative and has good acting skills but cannot use it fully, Yang Mi Im truly very surprised, Maybe she has not experimented with different forms and style of acting, Her usual dour stoic face makes things repetitive otherwise her calibre of actress should not be in this list but she should truly choose wisely her project and her acting style should improve. JJY is another actress Im so bored of, Her acting is pathetic, her expressions repetitive and her style is even more boring. I cannot understand this actress, she is unbearable. Jin Chen face keeps getting changed, I understand it's her own choice but she is looking weird these days. She used to be very pretty but now I feel she looks like a statue.
I personally thought they did great in fox spirit matchmaker I feel like the drama did so bad because it was so rushed and had to delete so many scenes. Also honghong is suppose to be straight faced even in the anime she barely had much expressions , loved gong Jun as well and thought he did get as yuechu
Gong Jun only has one expression: Goo-goo eyes and about to cry. This works on a teenage girl character but not on a ML working with a FL
The only drama aside from WOH which I think Gong Jun acted well is Unique Lady with Jade Cheng. All others are under whelming. As for Ju Jing Yi, I only enjoyed her acting with ZZH in The blooms at Ruyi Pavillion… especially difficult watching her in In Blossom but I watched that for Liu Xue Yi.😂

These netizens hit the nail on the head with these comments. Simon Gong has had zero chemistry with any of his female costars. I don’t know if it’s because of the “softness” of his acting, his makeup which always seems to overly feminize him…especially his lips…, bad luck in casting, or if he just has zero masculine energy despite his toned body; but every pairing has been a dud for me. All the criticism of the other actors mentioned were accurate. I hated the subs for JOL2 and the swap In Blossom. A good sub or swap tries at least to continue the character and develop little changes along with way, but these were just apples coming in with a bit of paint and claiming to be oranges. The only small break I will give is that while HYT is an emotionless block of wood - something I thought was just a role he was playing in A Love So Beautiful but later found out, no, that’s his whole acting range - he did really well during the fight scenes. Yeah, that’s the only compliment I got.
I adore Fox Spirit Matchmaker. I do agree that the FL takes the stoic demeanor too far at times but I love Gong Jun's performance

I totally disagree. As an American watcher of Chinese dramas or movies, the critics seem to enjoy looking for imperfection on everybody. No one is 100% excellent including the netizens themselves. To me, Yang Mi is an A+ actress. Simon Gong is a terrific actor. BUT no one can please everyone. It is what it is.

I understand that Gong Jun has a powerful backer which is why he keeps starring in big budget dramas even when he ruins them. Both Legend of Anle and Fox Spirit Matchmaker would have fared better with a male lead that could have evoked better chemistry with the female leads than him. Yangmi's portrayal in FSMRMP is on-point for the character. She is really supposed to be stoic, being the chief of Tushan. Her acting here is not much different from her acting in the highly successful Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. But In TMOPB, her chemistry with Mark Chao was off the charts while in FSMRMP, she had 0 chemistry with Gong Jun. That was the main reason FSMRMP flopped.
If u are a Yang mi fan, Pls do not bring down Gong Jun’s character becoz it will Only bring me to hate yang mi as a GJ fan..fyi yang mi is more criticized in her acting in FSM
@@debradelossantos904 I was just stating the obvious. Whether or not I'm Yangmi's fan is irrelevant. She was trashed by Gong Jun's fans for her stoic acting. But as I noted earlier, she was supposed to be stoic in FSMRMP. She is similarly stand-offish in TMOPB but because of the sizzling chemistry between her and Mark Chao, her being stoic in TMOPB even made the story more intriguing. When there is sizzling chemistry between ML and FL, no amount of angst or fault in direction or writing can stop viewers from continuing to watch a drama. I'm sorry but I have yet to see Gong Jun having that kind of chemistry with his female costars. In both Legend of Anle and FSMRMP, he came off being too feminine.

I loved Blossoms in Adversity!! I loved both lead roles and thought they did amazing. I had to rewatch it multiple times before being able to move on to the next drama!!
The drama for Fox Spirit is nice watching. Especially Yang Mi and Gong Jun they both perform well. I just wonder why a; lot people want to critics this drama. This drama is excellent maybe not just everyone preference. But this drama is really deserve good rating. The actress and the actor is very good.
Mannequin is an acting style many actors embrace, Yang Mi and Gong just 2 examples. She is always just Yang Mi, standing around. Annabel Yao is a joke as an actress, skipped the drama entirely because of her. Hu Yitian is terrible, surprised bug eyes in every scene. AWFUL! Ju quite good in drama where she sneaks into an academy as a man though. Why is the ML from the terrible Fighting for Love not mentioned? He was so zero-in-charisma it killed the drama, we had to root for the 'villain' instead!
i like the most of these actors sometimes the director might not get the best out of them ..or the script may not suit them …not seen some of these dramas but love both gong jun and yang mi they are quite laid back actors which i like ..and there are certainly worse actors than any of these the only bad actor in this list is definitely JuJingyi she’s the worst and can totally ruin a good drama …

Blossom in Adversity is a good drama. Both leads performed very well. I totally disagree with your review. All supporting roles in this drama have done great job. The story is family related and very touching, the cinematography, costumes, fighting scenes, OST, all are very good. I think it's one of best drama of this year.

Gong Yun can be called a one-film actor. He did well in "Word of Honor" just because he acted with Zhang Zhe Han. Zhang Zhe Han is a great, professional, charismatic actor and singer. Too bad China blocked him as an actor. Would love to see him in new movies. Meanwhile, Gong Jun is a boring, uninteresting, weak actor. I watched one episode of the movie with Gong Jun and I don't want to watch anymore because I'm not interested. Better let him show clothes like a mannequin.
Jin Chen did just fine ppl need to move on not everyone can come back for a second season. Jin chen’s acting is by far the most natural watched her dramas and she can act ppl just hating her and criticizing her for her crooked lips which is uncalled for it’s not like her role is a huge role it’s an excuse only. Her role was a supporting and does not have much screen time ppl just want to pinpoint every little thing to criticize I’m glad xz did not come back for S2. Even Gina said on her live she was approached she didn’t ask for it or snatch any role. Her job as an actress is to look at the script given to her she was approached for that role so ppl need to stop blaming her like she snatched the role. It’s not like if the first girl came to play linger the rating will go up. Stop dreaming her role was a small role only it has no impact on the rating. This is what happens when they give scripts to idol actors/actresses without auditions. For some, it works while for others it doesn't. Cnetz are passionate about their costume dramas. I believe each costume and their facial expressions can tell the emotions or story of the particular scene. I've just watched The Double, and well, it was really good. You watch dramas like that, which gives you high expectations for other costume dramas to deliver the same. Yang Mi in The Legend of Fuyao was really good. I guess fans just expect her to go upwards from her great dramas rather than falling behind. I think costume dramas are like stage acts in the hollywood version. I heard that the more stage acts you do, the better you become with dramas or movies. It's probably the same for costume dramas. The more you do, the better you become, hopefully.
For me i like gong jun as an actor and i enjoyed his dramas, i Just think he doesn't know how to choose a good script(It plays a main role to choose the right script). Hope in the future he's gonna have good projects that Shows his real capacities.

The comments are harsh i must say, but I kinda agree with that most of these performances from these actors failed to deliver for me, but thats just my opinion, it maybe different for ever other person. The problem with netizens comments is that sometimes they hit the nail and sometimes they are just hating.
I did not watch any of these dramas or start them but then drop them because of bad acting, except In the Name of My Brothers, which I finished. I agree with your assessment of Yang Mi. I got frustrated in the last 15 episodes of the drama, not only the acting but also the plot, which got draggy and stupid.
I do not like any dramas with Ju Jinyi. Her acting is so poor.

Gong Yun, so pretty, but still bland and stilted. Yang Mi n e v e r acts, she is always Yang Mi. Annabel (for real?) just AWFUL, totally hamming it up, laughable!Blossoms in Adversity: Male lead also a total ham, just awful. stopped watching. The FL in In Blossom is a model, and made up like an escort in a dark bar. However, I think I saw her in a period drama where she sneaks into a college as a male student, and she was very good!

Yang Mi is a boring actress. That whining voice of hers is too much to listen to! No matter how she tries to beautify herself, the voice and the acting are annoying.
