- Cleaning carpets can be a messy affair, that's why Chemical Guys takes the amazing cleaning power of Fabric clean, and shows how cleaning upholstery with the right tools can be simple and fast. Chemical Guys shows how a carpet cleaning brush can remove large amounts of dirt and filth to restore your car's upholstery to near factory conditions.
The outside of someone's car gets the most attention, however the interior of the car can get very dirty. The first thing our feet touch when we get inside our cars are the floor mats, and we track all kinds of dirt onto our mats which make them look filthy and old. It's time to make those neglected floor mats look appreciated again by cleaning them with Fabric Clean. Nick pores this extra powerful upholstery shampoo into a secondary dilution bottle, this mixture of shampoo and water needs to be maximized at an 8:1 dilution ration. Nick places the upholstery mat on the ground before spraying it with the Fabric Clean solution.
Nick saturates the mat to make sure the shampoo has time to absorb into the fabric to emulsify the dirt. Nick grabs the Carpet Brush Drill attachment and connects it to a standard cordless rotary drill. Nick powers the drill on and begins agitating the dirt with the medium thickness bristles, loosening all the built up filth that was raised to the surface by the Fabric Clean. Now that the fabric has been thoroughly cleansed, Nick grabs a clean microfiber towel to soak up the dirt that's been sitting there for months. When Nick lifts the towel, it's apparent how much filth, dirt, and stuck in grime was embedded in the upholstery all along.
To put the finishing touches on the upholstery, Nick wants to ensure that anything the spills on the surface of the fabric doesn't permanently stain the carpeting. Nick applies a generous coating of Fabric Guard onto the carpet to create a water tight barrier that repels stains and spills. If you follow these simple steps, you can take any filthy mat and remove all the stubborn lingering stains, and return the upholstery to near factory like conditions with tools like Fabric Clean and the Carpet brush Drill attachment.

Daniel Ontiveros thanks man
Just used this, got coffee stains out like nothing absolutely amazing.
Enjoy your detailing products!!

So what are is he putting the 8:1 is it just water and the carpet cleaner?
This guy knows how to do the job done I always like the videos when he’s on it nice way to explain and show :)
A right-angle drill makes those drill brushes much easier to control
Just got my first order of the 128 gallon fabric clean. Can’t wait to use IT!!!
I am very convinced and will be looking into the products used. The guy in the video has such a nice calm voice btw.
Hey! Thanks so much for tuning in and for the awesome feedback!!
So what you're saying is I need to use that Chipmunk music in order to get the best results right?
Well, what do you know? I have a 4Runner and was just looking up how to remove stains. Convenient, much?
very, stubborn stains will require some pre spotting with a stronger chemical for best results.
My poor 4th gens carpet from the previous owner 😢
You should make a video on how to detail a super dirty family minivan from start to finish. For this kind of job you should definitely have a hot water extractor or steamer.
Hi Aaron, great minds think alike! Stay tuned, I think you will really enjoy the videos we have planned in the near future!
So DetailGeek did do that. Not this channel, I know. It was awesome. And he uses Chemical guys products and tasks about them products used while cleaning. Also, he loves his Bissell. Good job guys!
I spy with my little eye a familiar eclipse...
These turn your carpets into pulp.. it wrecked mine. Just look at the finished comparison at the end of this video, the fabric lay pattern is no longer tight it’s absolutely mulched up
Extract everything then it would be fine
So don't use drill brush then?
TheMichael408 You can use a drill but make sure that the drill brush that you’re using as well broken in. A lot of people buy those brushes and then immediately use it on carpet. Do you wanna run your brushes on tile or concrete for like 10 minutes to break in the brushes.
TheMichael408 use the white brush
The product is great the reason the lay pattern is like you say it is it's cause of the drill bruh the yellow is a harder you need to use the soft brisell brush it's the white one and will not cause that
Be careful with this wheel it can mess your mats up especially if it's embroidered but it does help with cleaning process.
Hi Madekun, how's it going? For sensitive jobs, use the Light Duty Carpet Brush. The soft and flexible bristles are perfect for that sensitive carpet and upholstery. Use yellow bristles for cleaning deep set-in stains and heavy dirt from rugged carpets and upholstery, or for scrubbing concrete sidewalks or driveways. Red bristles are good for cleaning moderate stains and dirt from normal carpet and upholstery, or for scrubbing tile and grout throughout the home. Gray bristles are soft for gentle cleaning on sensitive fabrics and carpets like wool, mohair, and cotton. Always use the lowest speed setting to achieve satisfactory cleaning results. Test brush and cleaner in an inconspicuous spot for any adverse effects on fabric or dye, and constantly check your work to avoid damaging surfaces. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more videos coming your way soon!

I'm doing well, thanks for asking. I had deep stains but I noticed the piles appeared to come up as well. I'll probably order the light brush for next time and probably the cleaner too.
I just did my floor mats. Very nice. Can I use this same method on the seats? I just bought a bunch of your stuff. Not disappointed! Good job guys.
Hey there! Yes, Fabric Clean can be used on all sorts of fabric goods.
- CG Nick
@@ChemicalGuys thanks...
@@ChemicalGuys can I use the drill attachment on my fabric seats as well?
Impressive. Very nice. Now do the other side with a little bit of soapy water/dawn dish soap...
Thanks so much for tuning in!
Looks like a great product, any tips on how to use the fabric cleaner with a carpet cleaner/extractor machine?
Hey! I recommend diluting and spraying the piece with Fabric Clean before using a brush to agitate and then an extractor to remove spent product.
You guys took all my money at the tent sale Haha. Love your products, love your videos, cant wait to see you guys again!
P.s. I'm excited for my first Mystery Bucket 😁
Ive put carpet mats in the washing machine before. The big front loaders at the laundromat. Sometimes they come out fine other times the edge binding is damaged.
Thanks for sharing!
To be as fair as you can I wished you guys would have extracted the carpets after because this product foams which will temporarily hide some slight stains but I do genuinely believe its a good product
Thanks so much for your feedback.

How long should the cleaner set in before starting?
And, is it enough to just wipe the mats off, at the end, like you did?
Can I use this same method/chemicals for Red Mats?
Do you do a non foaming version I could use in my wet hoover?
Foaming cleaners fill the dirty water res quickly....
Thank you!
I love it!!!! I will definitely buy your products and do this myself!!!! 🤩😍😁
Happy detailing!!

Very Nice Video.
does it need to be rinsed, any residue that will attract more dirt?
Hi Robert, how's it going? In this video, Nick shows you all the necessary steps to get your carpets looking new again. If you want to repel that future dirt, liquid, and stains from your newly cleaned fabric, apply some Fabric Guard. The sprayable protectant and repellant micro-bonds to fabric fibers to shield against spills and stains. Fabric Guard uses hydrophobic technology to repel water and liquids on carpet, upholstery, seats, door panels, and other fabric surfaces. Thanks for watching, Robert, and make sure to stay tuned for more exciting videos coming your way this week!

@@ChemicalGuys Totally avoided the question.
I used fabric clean on tan carpet today and it left a green stain on the carpet. I diluted 15-1, so it’s crazy to me that this happened. Do you guys have any advice to get these carpets cleaned up? TY
Can I use this product in a bissel carpet cleaner?
Yes . I use mine in my steamer and it works fantastic
Can you run a carpet cleaner wand over this to extract the soap?
It's what you're supposed to do after
Thanks For Uplading. Great job dude!
Can I use this product on fabric seats
Hey there! Absolutely, it is perfectly fine to use Fabric Clean for seats.

What can I use to get the smell out of the canvas on my pop up camper??
Hey! Use Lightning Fast to remove stubborn stains and odors.
So amazing!
does anyone know if you have to dump out the product from the spray bottle if you dont finish it? or can you leave it as is for the next use?
Hi there! It is perfectly fine to store your diluted products for the next job as long as it is in a cool, dry area out of direct sunlight.

Can you use this in a shampoo extractor ?
Hey! It is perfectly fine to use Fabric Clean in combination with your extractor.
I Always wait for these videos☺️
Nick said it was medium duty are there other brushes with different levels of abrasiveness
Hi Cristian, how's it going? We sure do have three different levels of brushes, ensuring that every car, every situation, and every level of filth is covered. For lightly dirty or sensitive carpets and upholstery, use the Light Duty Brush. For dirtier durable carpets and upholstery, use the yellow Medium Duty Brush like Nick did in the video. Finally, for the most intense scrubbing of durable carpets and hard surfaces, use the red Heavy Duty Brush. Thanks for watching and make sure to stay tuned for more videos coming your way soon!

What should I buy lighting fast or fabric cleaner ?
Hey Noel! Use Fabric Clean to detail larger areas such as the carpet or seats. Lightning Fast works well for cleaning stubborn spots and foul odors.
- CG Nick
Do I have to use a drill brush?
Hey there! This process can also be performed using a machine polisher with brush attachment or by hand using a Nifty Brush.

Remember the Buster!
I need this
You'll love Fabric Clean!!
Is it possible to extract the excess out from the carpets and or fabric seats after using this product?
Absolutely!
great stuff
No extraction needed ?
Hello Jorge, how's it going? A hot water extractor would be a wonderful way to suck up all that dirt and filth! In this case, Nick decided not to use a water extractor and to just use a simple microfiber towel. Although hot water extractors are certainly the most thorough way of cleaning carpets and upholstery, not everyone has one, while everyone for sure has a microfiber towel! Thanks for watching and make sure to stay tuned for more exciting videos coming your way soon!

Is the yellow brush or white brush better for old stains on a carpet?
Hey Rick! Use the Yellow Medium Duty Spinner Drill Brush for stubborn stains.

Is it okay to use my drill that’s only one speed? Or is it preferred to have a drill that has different speed levels?
Absolutely! It may be easier to use a variable speed however it is not mandatory.
Any back to black on plastic bumpers?
That is amazing
Do you also need an extractor ? Seems like the dirt is just being spread evenly across the rug
Agree. Dont like this technique. Putting soap in carpet is easy. Taking it out is hard. Step #2 may be rinse the mats in the driveway with a hose. Or toss the mats in the bathtub.
Any brushes for the da?
Hi Ryan! Thanks for checking out the video. ACC_201_BRUSH_C is a carpet brush with a hook and loop backing that attaches to a 5 inch backing plate.

Does this work on upholstery seats?
Hi Brett, how's it going? Use Chemical Guys brushes on tough stains across carpet, upholstery, and fabric. 😂😂😂 I saw an eclipse.
This product did not foam as advertised. Did not clean as advertised. Diluted in the CG spray bottle and followed the directions in the video and was very disappointed with the results of very lightly soiled mats. CG needs to make stronger products that work as advertised.
I’ve tried your Inner Clean, and Lightening clean fabric cleaner with a similar pad on my drill and they both sucked.
ExileZO dang I was just about to buy the lightening fabric cleaner 😢
Olisa I’m sorry! It doesn’t do anything for stains!
Is nick putting a lot of pressure on the drill?
Hi Cristian, how's it going? Nick is not putting a ton of pressure on the drill, just enough to hold it steady and exert control over the drill. You don't want to put too much pressure on the drill as that could result in permanently damaging the fibers of the carpet. Thanks for watching, Cristian, and stay tuned for another video dropping later today!
What drill is that used for the brush?
Hey Fernando! Thanks for tuning in. This is a generic drill that we have had in the Detail Garage. There are plenty like it online and in most hardware stores.
If Fabric Clean is better for the really deep stains, wouldn't it be safe to say it's good for all stains? Why then use Lightning Fast ever?
Lightning Fast works great for spot cleanings for stains and Fabric Clean can be used to conduct a deep clean on a larger portion of fabric and to exfoliate fowl odors.
You don't rinse that filth and cleaner out afterwards?
Hello Luke, how's it going? In this video, Nick decided to pick up the filth with a simple microfiber towel. Although hot water extractors are certainly the most thorough way of cleaning carpets and upholstery, not everyone has one, while everyone for sure has a microfiber towel. Dousing it with water to rinse would soak the carpet to the last fiber. If you do have a hot water extractor, then we definitely recommend using that for best results. Otherwise, a microfiber towel will also pick up adequate filth. Thanks for watching and make sure to stay tuned for more exciting videos coming your way soon!
