- Terra Mítica is a theme park located in Benidorm, Comunitat Valenciana, Spain. The park is divided into five themed zones: Egypt, Greece, Rome, Iberia, and the Islands. The park opened in 2000 and one of the main rides has been shut for years! Let's see if it's any good?

I an from Alicante and I feel very nostalgic about this place at it is my first theme park. Its golden days passed more than 15 years ago, now its decadence is evident. I remember when they first opened the pendulum ride and the inferno roller coaster. Since then, no new rides. Bad economic management, insufient mantainance and accidents has led to very bad fame among locals. Now only school kids and outsiders visit Terra Mitica. Its a pity, so different from the way Aqualandia water park was managed... I will come back this year to Terra Mitica just because I have free tickets
7:56 The poor sods were beggin' for the operator to stop the ride, the Father was like "Nah...we're on it now" Pahahahaha.
0.34 just a time stamp for my 16month old son who loves that bit of music 😂 caught him bobbing and smiling, hopefully I can watch the rest of the video in a minute 🎉👍
“I’ve Actually stopped shooting cause I’m quite bored!” 😂😂😂
Looks great! I love a theme park, but I swear, doesn’t matter what park I’ve been to, if you pick a ‘quieter’ day to go, there’s always a handful of rides ‘closed for maintenance’. Cheers Tim👍
A quick bit of research would of been good Tim! Magnus Colossus at Terra Mittica has been SBNO (standing but not operating) since 2015 due to the extreme maintenance costs (woodies don't do well in extremely hot climates and require frequent retrack work) so it was never going to be running when you visited, it hasn't run for 8 years! It was originally a Paramount Park but since they sold it to current owners there has been hardly any investment,
the park used to be much bigger but was divided into two parks with only half (Terra Mittica ) open this time of year with the whole park only opening in high season, since COVID though the Iberia Park side has not opened which is a shame as the rapids ride was great there. You do need to take swimming costumes for the full experience (it cost me 2 bikinis and a towel for my daughter's last time, I had shorts on that were swim shorts) it was a great day out when the whole park was open but the two coasters are very rough, the blue one is a standard Verkoma SLC which are terrible vomit inducing rides frequently removed from parks all over the world.
Thank god you posted my day was dragging so much 😂
Lol
Same bro😂
Time become like a good friend hasn't he
@@WalkWithMeTimZante I’ll come with you bud as know where to go and where to stay! You’ll love it especially visiting the loggerhead 🐢
I would fall off that swing because I would pass out with fear!!! The little rollercoaster is more my level😂😂
Can’t wait until Casper is big enough to go on these rides with you.
Tim great job as always ! Looks like lots of fun there. So much to see and enjoy. Hope you had a great time. Take care💕
Hi Tim😊 When it first opened all us locals were pleased too hear about Theme Park and we do get choice of an anual pass, which works out obviously much cheaper, but once youve been a few times things were noticable, rides not running, lack of atmosphere, more boring rides than exciting ones, so we just stopped going. Its sad because most probably cost a fortune to build and maintain, but is pretty boring for a theme park😢
You do so much in the name of content! I see you made a new friend on the sky ride 😂 at least there was more open than Sharm. Great video, Tim 👍 👌 👏 🙌
The most down-to-earth youtuber I've ever seen, excellent work, well dowe Tim!👍
Wow, thanks!
I went here quite alot in the early 2000's, crazy to still see the same rides going today.
The crocodile, made me laugh! 😂😂 You were so causal on the roller coaster at the end, you make it look easy , I couldn't do big roller coasters
Me and me dad were there on one of the days like that, with a million Spanish whippersnappers running around causing chaos... After being annoyed at all the queuejumping they were doing, we went to complain. They then gave us some form of fast pass thing which was great. Nothing was mentioned at the gate, though.
I do still really like Terra Mitica, but its a real shame that its almost been left to die. Both the circus show in the 'Collosseum' and the pirate show were always very good if they're still running...
This should be an interesting watch!! 😂
just made my cup of tea and saw this video, time to relax 😎
Enjoy!
I loved Terra Mitica as a kid! I have been twice and distinctively remember being terrified of the dark ride at 3:30 (I was around 7) which did make me laugh with you saying it was the worst ride you have ever been oN! I also remember seeing this bright pink plastic cow with red hearts and udders on both of my trips and it made me happy to see it again, it's been a decade since I've been, and do want to go back to relive some childhood memories. It's unfortunate you couldn't go on the big rides, and that you was disappointed but glad to of been able to relive it again from your video :)
Apparently Colossus is permantly closed due to high maintenance, shame really because it looks like such a great ride.
It was very rough when it operated. Looks better than it actually was.
@@solskjaer1195 yea don't look much but phew
The location is so good that I wouldn't be too upset if some of the rides are crap. The wooden roller coaster with those mountains is magnificent.
You sounded very disappointed 😔 Thanks Tim 😎🏖️
I was lol
Thanks for the video Tim great as always! A shame it’s gone downhill as looked like it had so much potential!
Nice One Tim 👍💯.
Hello Tim,there are some good rides there, shame a couple of them were closed, the last one you were on I couldn't do that too high for me lol.
We used to live in Benidorm and had season passes for a couple of years around 2013-2015 when our son was around 7 years old. However once we’d done all the rides and no new ones were added we stopped going. We only used to go for half a day as it’s all we needed to go on the rides we wanted to. When it first opened queues were over an hour long for the bigger rides. There were more places to eat but they all gradually closed. Shame as it such a big park, was always clean and the theming was good. Don’t think this park will ever be as popular as when it first opened. Brilliant video as always.
This park looks like it’s the beginning of the end .
Hi Tim. Great theme to each part. Pity wooden rollercoaster wasn't working but thank you to film the roller coaster you went on. I love roller coasters but need to be extra careful as I have back problems and a heart one to.
Currently on holiday (in Hunstanton actually-your video on it was great!) And watching a Tim video is one of my favourite end to my days!
Does look like fun cheers Tim
I went here years ago all i really remembered was the Egyptian water ride
Cracking intro music on this Tim
I went on that wooden rollercoaster like 10 years ago, my backs still not right
Maybe that's why it was shut down lol
I went there more than twenty years when I was a kid, looks like it still hasn't changed!
Magnus Colossus opened on 27 July 2000. It closed in 2015 indefinitely, due to high maintenance costs. It has also been removed from their website, from the list of rides
Hey Tim. Love your vlogs especially the Dubai ones ❤ you're a natural, very informative and you should have your own show! 😊
Wow, thank you!
Hi Tim ! This looks like a nice park it could do with some updating. Nice themeing though maybe it could get better in the future. Thankyou for sharing with us. Love to you as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
I first went there when it first opened in 2000, One of my fav theme/waterparks not just in Spain but in Europe!
As for Efteling theme park in Holland that is one of my fav theme parks in the world though-Shame when some rides/shows are not there to see/do!
Thing I like about Efteling is you can see on website/txt messages of what rides/shows are in maintenance-Gaby said you will prob go there next year 👍🏻
Hey Tim, amazing to watch this video as I used to visit so much as a kid, unfortunately over the years, as much as the theming is still great, they’ve always struggled with money problems and even threatened to close a few times. Colossus unfortunately has been left there closed since 2015 simply because they don’t have the money to demolish it! But just wanted to say that I loved the video and it’s brought back so many amazing memories! Literally nothing has changed in years!
Wow that's really interesting, so it's just an abandoned coster in the middle of the park.
Hi Tim another excellent video and I really enjoyed it so much what a cool looking theme park.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks Tim great video, interesting look forward to the next Yvonne 😊
You are braver than me to go on that carousel swing ride, Tim. I would be so scared.
Love it when a Tim vid drops
Nice one Tim the music in that park was epic 🙂🎥🧳✌️
"Well that Crocodile....................... looks extremely fake" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
1:12 (apologies, I've been in the pub) Was that girl on her phone like "Yeah sod it I don't care, go in" 😜🤣
Also 3:56 🤣🤣
Tim , you deserve your own TV show .
Lol
I agree as his vlogs are way better than most tv!
Noooo, I think Tim should keep doing his own RUclips channel, that way he gets to make his own decisions, go where he wants to go, and say what he wants to say 😁
@@MargaretUK feel the same 😂 might be selfish of me but I don't want anyone to change his content or his family not be apart of the channel 💕 sorry @WalkWithMeTim
@@sophierobinson6041 I totally agree with you on that 👍
Hi Tim! Just a quick one, my fiancé and I (recently engaged 😉) were just wondering why your videos aren’t as long at the minute 😔 could watch your stuff all day! 😁
I went on that wooden rollercoaster too soon after having broken my ribs. I couldn't wait to get off, it really is a rattler.
“Imagine if the breaks didn’t work” thank you. I’m now never gonna go on that ride or anyone that’s similar hahahaha
Went here 20 years ago and it was great back then although quite empty
As soon as I saw the 10 school buses I would have come another day. You are very brave to go on roller coasters and swings that hurl you out over the crowds. I could see the place being better at night when the shows are open. Maybe they need to do some upgrading.
the woodie is a bone rattler
I bet
Hi there, another brilliant video from you like always. Very interesting to watch never been to. Benidorm looks quite a nice place. Keep up the good work like I say all the time I do enjoy you put your register Gareth I think it’s very professional and great content keep up the good work work.
The wooden coaster has been closed since the end of the 2015 season due to high maintenance costs so its sadly sitting there rotting away on the cliff side
Colossus has been closed for many, many years. It was shut due to the park being unable to afford the maintenance cost :( was a good woody in its heyday.
Wow
Enjoyed the video
I went when it was first opened, really enjoyed.... Christmas eve we went 😊
WWMTim, I had to fast forward the section with you on that high ride. OMG.
Timothy please get your own TV show. You’re really good at this 😮
Living in a refuge at the moment and really living through your videos.
Brits really good 🎛📻
Looks pretty good 👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏼
Colossus has been closed since 2015. I was gutted first time I went there and it wasn’t open.
Hi Tim, I went here in 2000 and I thought it was amazing, everything was open including the wooden roller coaster which was amazing but was definitely a white knuckle ride for me, we went into the cinema where the theme was you were aliens studying sports on earth, next thing you know your a tennis ball and you flying all over the place, hilarious. Also there were some rapids which were brilliant and the log flume where you came down backwards, very strange. What I found really odd was that all of the signs were in Spanish so we didn’t even know what we were queuing up for sometimes but it was a great day.
Them different parts around the park remind me a bit like the Netflix series Locke & Keys, on going in to a difference part of the world.
Great video Tim.
Thanks 👍
Hi Tim, last time we went we asked about colossus as I really wanted to experience this coaster and was surprised to find out that it hadn't operated since 2015! so I do not think this will work again unfortunately.
The ride you went in at 3:20. Me and my parents went in with the exact same thought of we have no clue what it is lol. Guess we weren't the only ones!
We did Terra Mitica last time we were in Benidorm. Had a great day overall, but as you said the wooden Coaster was closed. Apparently for essential maintenance.
The wooden roller coaster is permanently closed , closed in 2015
Hiya Tim,it looks great theme park I thought it was good, like the fact they have a lot of shade areas which some parks don't.ive not been to many theme parks probably because we go to Florida a lot, thanks for sharing.take care.
It was a very good travel day blog today when you chilling out visiting Terra mitica the only one in benidorm tim
Thanks Eugene
Went here years ago, it was lovely then, quiet but nothing really opened until about 1pm but still nice
I went there back in 2000 a few weeks after it opened and got a few rides on colossus (from 27/07/2000 to 2015)the park was really quite so got on lots of rides
Another great vlog
Thanks again!
This place reminded me so much of alton Towers for ride closures but it’s still better then alton tower you gone on more rides .
These Benidorm videos are lovely but I’m looking forward to the sun hoilday one coming up.
Next weekend
you must visit salou and porta adventure...amazing theme park...went to the first week it opened..been back a few times..halloween time is amazing..
Yes they are very good
Oh I went there about 20 years ago 😊
Wow, I admire you for going on that high ride thingy! So did Hub. He'll go on most things (especially rollercoasters) but not that! Cheers Tim!
I’ve been there.
Acording to RCDB Magnus Colossus has SBNO since 2016
Catching up on yours and Gaby's vids Tim as been in IOW for 10 days! You must go over there. It's lovely. And if you like a theme park with a difference try the old Blackgang Chine experience! Quirky fun park with a few modern rides on a smaller scale there these days. My 10yr old grandson got his first taste of queuing for rides at Alton Towers last week. 2 hours for Wickerman. And rides shut there as well x J x
Hey Tim, doesn't look like a theme park I'd bother with so thanks fur the review.
Best theme park in Spain is Portaventura and ferrari land in Salou. They also have a great water park.
Villamarina club Hotel in salou is great for families too.
I'm there on Wednesday.
The wooden coaster has been out of action since 2015 due to “high running costs” which really sucks when it’s just sitting there wasted now 😔
I love you reviews on hotels and like caravan parks
You should do more theme parks tim!
Brilliant vlog
Thank you 😊
You need to visit Poland and Energialandia with water park and all high coasters . It’s amazing and food is good value and lockers
Hi Tim the wooden roller coaster has been closed since 2015 due to structural and maintenance cost
My parents live in El Campello and we visited this park from the very start. It was amazing at first and then went down hill and changed owners. Over the last few years its had a lot of money invested in it and honestly it's becoming great again. This is a theme park, not an amusement park, so it's not only focused on the rides.
The shows make this park. Amazing shows in the collesium and the deals show.
The restaurants also make this park, they have sit down formal restaurants which serve amazing food.
Collusus coaster has been closed for many years and that is also stated on their website and the paper maps they give you. It used to be a great coaster, it just need RMC to come and make it outstanding.
The water rides which you also missed are great, the log flume and the boat, where you get soaked.
Revisit this park on August, see the shows, eat in the nice restaurants and I think you be converted:)
Yes it's a shame but you also don't see many restaurants like that in theme parks
@@WalkWithMeTim yes, its very spanish. As spanish love their food and enjoying meals together. We ate at the one in the roman area in August and it was very good food and also very fairly priced. I would live to see this park getting more money invested in it and becoming great again. Hope you had a fun time in Benidorm, great vlogs! We always go in February with my parents for a holiday within a holiday and stay at the flamingo oasis. That's a great hotel too. Keep up the great vlogs, we love following your channel
I saw this park in the tv show Benidorm the scene they did in it was so funny
Looks like this park has so much potential, the rides could have a bit more theming. What a shame its turned out like this
Port adventura in salou is a great theme park
If you go late afternoon 4pm the ticket was half price and the park at night is brilliant with the added bonus of the fireworks at midnight dont know if they still do this offer this was 20 years ago, love the video 😊
inferno is of the best eye watering ride I've ever been on
That looks quite an impressive place. I've been to benidorm a few times but never ventured that far. Two rides in an hour sounded rapid compared to Alton Towers, where you could spend half an hour walking between rides to meet a one hour queue.
It’s a brilliant theme park, I’ve been twice and I only queued for 20 minutes at the most
The woodie has been closed for 8 years now
"Imagine the brakes didn't work."
...well, Tim. They'd be deceased.😅
I love that theme park, used to love the big wooden coaster before they closed it. It's a shame what happened on that star ride, the kid was really young :(
When I was a kid I used to go here all the time I loved it and everything was open back then and they had shows going on all the time. Many years ago on one of the rides that was closed, not the collossus but the big yellow one a lady died on it when the seat she was sitting on detached from the ride and she dropped a long way. It's not the reason the ride is closed as it did open up again shortly after.
