The ONLY information on the net that I could find to help me last minute research an "ss" Herman Hann Dagger coming up in an auction in about 30 minutes. Thank you for saving me the money (and keeping my personal moral views on historical versus repro in tact).
So, there's a story that when Hess crashed in Scotland, he was taken to a police station and my grandfather was on duty and somehow came by his dagger, supposedly. There was even an article in one of the papers years ago (which I have). I doubt it to be true as Hess was in the SS and the dagger that I have is not the SS one. Paint is completely worn from the holder but some traces of black on it, so I guesss I will never know the truth?
Interesting story but hess had no dagger with him ok he had documents in briefcase to show British intelligence .my grandfather interviewed him that day the plane was taken away to England nothing much part of fuselage many parts were stolen by locals never found .
Great to see you back can't wait for more

That’s an amazing quality replica though. How much would that cost as a replica?

Is the SS dagger handle plastic? Why does it look brown?
