I find some of the inconsistencies puzzling. Firstly, it was stated that there is a matching number on the grip interior yet this was not present. Also, the tang and the cross guards had non matching numbers. This is irregular and such a mistake would never have been allowed to occur on such an exclusive piece (millions of Kar98k's were fabricated and they were all perfectly matched without exception). Lastly, the gold puzzles me... Himmler is known to have interdicted the use of gold or gold coloring on any and all SS items. Would be curious to know and find out the answers to these queries to broad my knowledge. Cheers.

Really interesting. This gentleman is really wise is his business! Pity I can not afford one of these daggers. Could be a profitable inversion, though!

I like how the tang doesn't match and the guy just says "that's how they were done"... really? Speaking of red flags, what about 328 vs 382? Seems like somebody was making a repro in their garage and their dyslexia got in the way.
The only reason things like this are scarce and unaffordable are because people in the US hoard militaria and enough is never enough. "My precious".
I've never felt more resistance in any online community than my search for my grandfathers' war spoils that are missing.

Probably a stupid question to you. But how did the veterans bring back large/or heavy items. (Eg. Railway Eagles, desk ornaments, ceramic signs
or heavy stuff eg. Large marble ash trays, A.H bronze busts ) THANKS
