I just bought a Rubbermaid handheld cordless power scrubber. It’s got small heads from 1” to about 3”. It’s awesome for general cleaning the kitchen etc but works great for initial dirt and crap removal on restos. Saves me time and $30. Loving it so far.

I am of two minds on such objects. On one hand they are horrible reminders of horrible people doing horrific things, tempting us to want to destroy them. On the other hand they are historical artifacts full of priceless information we must preserve if only to prevent repetition of the horrors. This one is also a family memento of an ancestor who defended his country, something for their descendants to take pride in owning. I have successfully used pieces of old bicycle inner tubes to grip small screws and bolts while disassembling things that I did not want to damage, instead of tape which can be cut through by the “teeth” on pliers. Give it a try. I have also used bronze wool to clean stamped and etched detail on old steel objects. It is hard enough to cut dirt but won’t scratch steel. I love your channel. You find the most interesting things to restore, and teach ideas I would never have thought of.
If only all restoration work could be this good. Keep the history / patina and let it tell its story. Making it look brand new as other so called restorers do, ruins the piece. Well done. Will subscribe.

Amazing job, another extremely rare piece saved for the history of an awful period in our history on this earth, amazing job dude enjoyed watching, u rarely see them here in the UK especially for sale.
These daggers where used in different Nazi Organisations in different colors but the same model. The NSKK (= Nationalsozialisches Kraftfahrkorps Nationalsocialist Motorists Corps) was a PRE war paramilitary Nazi Party organisisation., not the SA! These was found shortly after Hitler came into power to train young men in all kinds of driving from motorcycles, cars and even trucks years before WWII starts.
One of my favorite WW2 blades. Though I don’t like rat tail tangs. Those daggers were absolutely beautiful. They were designed to be often carried seldom used I would think. I have a Kar-98 bolt rifle rebarreled in .308 instead of 8mm, I love that rifle. Say what you want about the Nazis, German engineering is among the best in the world. Thank you for sharing.
Great restoration of a historical piece. I do get cold chills though when I see nazi emblems from that time. A dark era from European history that pieces like this will make sure we remember and do not repeat.
This is a beautiful knife. Both before then after your restoration! It's a shame that the markings were mostly gone. It would be great if the history of the knife was easier to find. Anyway I really like the finished product!!

Brilliant restoration. That design of dagger is one of my favourites. On another note, you made me smile cleaning the handle. My mother used to spit on a handkerchief and clean my face when I was little 😂 It didn't make me smile back then 😂
It's missing the bottom cover guard. That's why it leaked through 2 holes when you pulled it out of the liquid filled container. It's where the 2 screws goes.
