Great to see you back mate - people like you are the reason why I don’t watch TV, and I mean that in a very complimentary way. This was informative, inspiring and educational 👍
Great to see you back out Chris and re enthused. Top work in getting Joe's gravestone uncovered. Youre excellent at putting these stories across. I'm a bit like youreslef in finding late Autumn and early winter a bind. Not so much for the weather, although it has been too bloody wet, but more the very long dark nights. As much as I love wild camping, being in the tent for 16 hours or so, takes a bit of motivation. I tend to stick local to home as well, my area of choice is The West Pennine Moors. Some superb camping spots to be found. I tend to carry a hell of a lot of gear in Winter to get through the long nights in as much comfort as is possible in a tent !! Cooking a good hot meal, gives me a massive boost. 👍
Hello Alan and thank you. Yep, I was chuffed to get a result with Joe's grave. I was a long, drawn-out process. I'm with you re the shorter days, I really struggle with it. Things will soon be on the turn though in a few days. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
Really enjoyed that one Chris. What a fascinating story and good for you for not giving up on the raising of the grave stone so people can pay their respects to a local legend. Well done you 👏👏
My original comment vanished, how strange? 🤔. Yep, it just felt like the right thing to do, getting Joe's grave visible again. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your family 🙂
Cracking day to be out on the moors Chris! Fascinating story about the moorsman Joseph Radcliffe, you must be very proud to have played a part in his story. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family👍🎅🎄
Cheers Steve mate. Yes, it was important I stuck at it. I'd've been gutted if it hadn't have happened. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year pal🎄. ATB, Chris
Great to have you back Chris, and with a cracking video. Brilliant story about Joseph. In our busy hectic lives we forget about the people before us and the lives they led. Again, great to see you again mate. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and yours.
Glad you enjoyed it Steve and it was good to get out after a long lay off. Joe was a great character and it was very important that his gravestone was made visible for all to see and pay their respects. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄. ATB, Chris
Grand to see you back out Chris and well done for persisting in making sure that the story of Joseph Radcliffe maintains a physical link for others to discover. Always good to hear of a triumph over pettifogging jobsworths.
Lovely piece of local history to accompany your trek. Parochial Parish Councils everywhere are full of mini-Hitlers. You did well to overcome them. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Thank you Michael. Yep, I couldn't understand why someone wanted to make things difficult. It was obvious they were just being petty. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄. ATB, Chris
Good to see you back walking again Chris. Great story about Joseph Radcliffe...really loved the way you told the story in fragments which kept me in suspense till the end! ATB Steve
Sorry to hear you've lost your mojo a bit, but hopefully that's you back in the groove Chris. I don't recall seeing plover in winter. Can't beat a frosty wild camp. 😎
Nice to hear from you Robin, hope you are well mate. I think I was falling into the silly trap of feeling compelled to get regular vids out too and I kicked back a bit in the opposite direction.....which wasn't a bad thing. Feeling more chilled about it now though. Merry Christmas to you and yours mate (including Luna of course 🐶).
It’s unbelievable how historical characters and monuments were treated in the past. King Richard 111, was found in a Leicester car park. Probably under a Ford Fiesta😂 What a country! Great vid 👌👍
Hello Lee and thanks. Yes, it's bonkers. The Richard III story was mind-blowing, brilliant really. I'd love to visit his tomb in Leicester. Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. 🙂
All the best to you too Chris. I'm a Burnleyite and a lifelong moorlurker myself, usually on my mountain bike. Maybe one day we'll blunder into one another. Lucky lads us South Penniners eh! Take care :)@@ChrisJB
Hello there, A wild camp, history lesson learning about someone who sounds quite interesting and an insight into your tenacity in not letting some twerp get the best of you. Great stuff. Regarding not getting out camping, totally relatable. Somedays the hardest challenge is getting out the door, but we're reminded of why we do it once we're out. Take care All the best Dave & Buddy* 👍 (*the doggo)
Thanks for that Dave and Buddy 🐶. I totally agree, especially when conditions aren't to our liking, the biggest step is the one that takes us out the door. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your family.
So good to see you out again Chris! A bit of cold weather and wind, but some nice sunshine to finish off your trip. I really like your new hat!! Very nice of your daughter to make it for you- I always enjoy handmade items. 😄👌 Great stories … congratulations for tracking down the grave location and getting the stone raised! It looks like it’s in a very respectable location now… hard to believe they ever covered it up! You too, happy holidays and Merry Christmas! 👍🎄🎄💚❤ - Jen
Thank you Jennifer. I noticed you had a nice hat on on your latest vid too 👌. Yep, it was a pleasing result re Joe's grave. There were times when I didn't think it would happen. I hope you and your family have a great Christmas and a happy New Year.🎄
We are very lucky to have this wonderful countryside on our doorstep ( I live in Rochdale also ) often i am out either solo or with the wife. i am so grateful to easy my mental health whilst plodding the hills..... thank you for posting, and I've just subscribed.
No matter how much I enjoy mountains and wild places far away, I always enjoy our local hills. White Hill is one of my favourite places after heavy snowfalls, when the roads are nigh impassable. It's easy to drive up the M62 which is one of the first roads to be kept clear, park by the motorway slip road, and head out into the deep snow to White Hill (and if the weather turns snowy again, the motorway is a safe exit route). It was good to see the gravestone of old Joe.
Hello Michael. I agree. I'd be lost without our local moors close at hand. I remember my first ever visit to White Hill, it was 1987 and I was just a lad. Me and an old pal walked up there from Milnrow, via Denshaw. Good memories. Please pass on my good wishes to Shanita and I hope you both have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Chris
Thanks for the greetings. Christmas is a family time, so best wishes to you and your family, and hoping you all the family have a good Christmas and a prosperous new year.@@ChrisJB
That was a pleasure to watch. You and I amongst many other I feel have been affected by the prolonged wet spell. Like always, it will pass and we will tramp the hills again. All the best to you and your family.
Sorry Steve....I though I'd replied! Yes, this rain just seems to be day in, day out. I've been off work this week and it's just the same. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your family too. 🙂
Don't beat yourself up about motivation around this time of year. I mourn the end of summer with the dwindling daylight and probably suffer from a mild form of SAD. Once we get into Nov/Dec, I've accepted it. I depend on good weather for work in the summer months, so watch it keenly, and it's been largely grim since the beginning of July, so this doesn't help either. Fascinating tale about the moorsman Chris and well done for your dogged determination in restoring his grave. Lovely work from Beth to keep your bonce warm. Maybe she could crochet an extension for the conk, giving you a medieval Norman archer look 😂. I have one each knitted by my mother and mother in law. They really are better than anything I've bought. Anyway sorry for rambling. All the best for season and thanks for all your output this year. Paul
Thanks mate for your words of encouragement. I'm with you, I think I have SAD to some extent (both my parents did so it must be in my DNA!). If we get a decent autumn I do okay but this year's has been a shocker. I like the sound of the Norman archer's design, I reckon that would work a treat. I could flog 'em as 'merch'! Anyway Paul, I hope you are well and Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
Cheers Steve. Alas our Bethany is too bone idle to make me any 'merch' (though she'd like the brass 👌). She had been promising to make me a hat for months, I had to really nag her! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
Good to see you out and about Chris and start your camping adventures. Glad you overcame the lack of motivation to start enjoying the outdoors again. I'm familiar with Ragstones area similar to your route. Yes I like the hat. Well done Beth. Good of you to pursue Joe's grave and get results too. Have a great Christmas with your family Chris. All the best.🙂
Hello Shanita. Yes, it felt good to be back out and take advantage of some rare decent weather. Merry Christmas to you and Michael and a happy New Year.
Ha, perhaps you could find some teeth with silver in them Chris. Good to see you back out - lost your connection for a bit bit me thinks it'll be back. Now what a bugger about that grace - how could they let that happen? That's desecration. At least there are Golden Plover galore on the moor still - he'd have loved that. Gotta say, wow them are the mornings you want to wake up to. Lovely and crisp. A good return I'd say Chris. Have a cool weekend ahead. Mark
How do Mark. Oooh a silver or gold tooth would be a cool find. I was thinking of you the other day. I read a about a new pilgrimage walking route through the Olchon Valley. I think I suffer a bit with that SAD thing (Seasonal Affected Disorder) which might be hereditary as both my parents did too which doesn't help. I'll feel better when we hit the Winter Solstice in a few days, knowing the days start to get longer. Hope you're well and Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
@@ChrisJB Yeah, get the metal detector our Chris. Ah, yes the Golden Valley Pilgrims Way. I'll be doing that next year I think. You're welcome to join me. It's a good one. Re- the winter thing I enjoy it - the streets are dark and I can tuck away. But I get it. I'm doing alright thanks. Have a good end to the year yourself. Peace.
Good to see you back Chris. I’m reading the Saddleworth Historical Socs article now…very interesting and congratulations on your perseverance. Thanks again for another wonderfully informative post. Merry Christmas Chris to you and your family. Ron
Really glad to see you back Chris, starting to get a bid worried, I think sometimes with the RUclips mularky that it can start feeling like going out is an obligation when everyone is entitled to a break, anyhow great video, absolutely made up you got the grave raised, how anybody could object to such a request is beyond me, well done for sticking with it. All the best, have a happy Christmas and a wonderful new year pal 🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻👍
You've hit the nail on the head Tito. I did feel overly compelled to put vids out sometimes, even though I wasn't really feeling it. I won't be doing that again. Feel better after a bit of a break. Yes, I just couldn't let it go re Joe's grave, it just felt very wrong. Best wishes mate and Merry Christmas to you and your family🎄ATB, Chris
Hi Chris, that was a great wild camp, (to have the hills on your doorstep). It was interesting to hear about Mr Ragstone, that was a nice tribute, and I'm sure the Church Council found it interestingas well. Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year.
Hello Grant and thanks. It's not a National Park but the South Pennines certainly have a character of their own. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄. ATB, Chris
Really good to see you again Chris. I love local history mate, so to tune into one of my favourite local camper/ hikers and get an history lesson is heaven on earth mate👍. I buy all those little local history books from a shop in Littleborough, I love them - Jimmy
Thanks James👍. I like my local history too. There are some good stories in our local landscapes. A lot of my old book collection has come from George Kelsall's in Littleborough too. A fantastic bookshop. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄. ATB, Chris
Absolute bloody belter this one Chris. Love the local history bits. Hat looks mint pal. Speaking of birds a saw a field choca full of lapwings on a recent walk up Baslow edge. ATB Chris. Cheers
Brilliant 😊. We think you're great at telling tales of daring do, interesting folk from history, local wildlife and your geological insights. Great stuff. Btw your new crocheted hat looks mint.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😀
Great Story, and camp, Maybe like me you suffer the winter blues. I have been a bit down and short on motivation. forced myself out on a short group walk around Castleshaw valley ,And having watched your video feeling inspired to get back out there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and adventure. Have great Christmas and a healthy and prosperous new year.
Thank you. It's nice round Castleshaw and not far from home for me. Yes, I'm no fan of winter, though can escape the feeling if we ge enough clear days and sunshine.....which we've not had a great deal of so far! Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. 🙂
What a superb write up about joe, for people who don't know the history of Joe it is well worth looking at some of Ammon Wrigleys stories. If you follow the old road out of Denshaw on the way past New years Day reservoir there are some splendid ruins at Dowry Castle on the left hand side of the valley but more importantly as the road starts to climb there is a small semi hidden bridge on the left, if you cross over this and follow the side of the hill you will come to the ruin of Joes farm near a tumbledown wall......Getting back to the Ammon Wrigley books, he also wrote a story about achap known as "bits o cheese", i have often wondered if there is any more information about him, he lived in a cottage just below Pots and Pans which has now been demolished , I think in the Yarm hill area. I don't live in the area any more but thought you might like a challenge. Bits o Cheese storey is in Ammon Wrigleys " The Wind among the heather" book.
Thanks Lyn. I'm not sure when you left the area but sadly Ragstones Bridge is no more. I first visited Ragstones in the 1990s I think it was and I had to leap across the brook to get there. I wonder when it was removed? I have Wind Amongst the Heather and know about Bits o' Cheese. In Sam Seville's book, he describes a character known as Owd Greg (there is a photo too) and he speculates whether he could be Bits o' Cheese. He's not 100 per-cent though. I'm a big AW fan, have all his books and always enjoy walking in his footsteps. Thanks for watching and your very interesting comment. Best wishes and Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. 🎄
Great to see you back out again Chris, a very informative and entertaining video as always. Hope you and the family had a great Christmas and happy New Year to you all.
Fascinating story of Joseph Radcliffe - and what a great eat job of getting the gravestone back on view. Well done that man! Been in exactly the same moods myself lately, maybe its the weather, everything just damp and depressing. I'll be out next week though. Nice to see you back out and enjoying yourself. ATB, Roger
How do Roger. Yes, bloody awful in the main the weather this autumn. I really struggle with the grey short days. Hope you have a good forthcoming trip. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
Great video Chris. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Love your spiel mate. Sometimes putting your shoes on and getting out the door is the hardest thing. Once you’re out though you soon remember what you love about it is. Thanks for sharing Chris. Have a great Christmas. All the best Stephen 🎄
Glad to see you all well and good. Know this area very well. Interesting story. Thanks for sharing. Brave to camp in such an exposed area at this time of year.
Great video as always Chris and what an awesome outcome to a very interesting story and well done for being persistent and raising Old Joe from the grave so to speak :) PS If you can find the grave of Cirrol Smith let me know so i know where to have a piss next time i am over that way :))))
Same to you too :) I think the likes of CS and others like him would have the graves desecrated by the victims and people in general. It always surprises me that there are not more graves and gravestones when you consider how long humans have practiced burials in various religions . Personally i am a big believer in reincarnation and with the cost of funerals these days if theres any use to medical science once my corps has stopped hiking then the hospitals can have my shell as long as they get rid of the bits they dont have any use for for free :)@@ChrisJB
Good to see you back out Chris, sometimes it's good to have a break and get the juices flowing again. Really interesting video, you did Joe proud! Great hat 👌👍 thanks for sharing the local insights, we ought to get out for a walk up there. Hills steeped with history. David
How do Dave. Yep, you are right, a break is good sometimes. I'd be up for a walk too. Hope all is well your end and Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your family🎄
Where do I start? Feeling low, totally empathise with you on that one. Is it the time of year or the general state of things? I don’t know but it does feel gloomy. However, you’ve brightened my day tremendously with this video so we’ll done that man. Small victories are what define us as individuals railing against the system that tries to keep us down. It’s why we are wild campers, individuals at heart. Gosh this is turning into a bit of a rant. Keep up the good work Chris, we all appreciate your efforts.
Hello Richard. I'm pretty sure I suffer with a bit of that seasonal SAD thing. Both my ma and pa did so it's probably in my DNA. If we get a decent and bright autumn it's not so bad but this autumn has been utterly dreadful.....really dismal. Joe's grave went beyond the respectful and historical merits of making his stone visible. I knew it was the right thing to do and just wouldn't let it go, despite petty obstacles to try to dissuade me. They just made me more determined 😎. Thanks and Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄. ATB, Chris
Aha been waiting for this really enjoyed this one Chris my next one after Xmas is up there your right about the weather it’s been so wet for weeks , take care mate and have a good Xmas .lol Joseph Radcliffe reminds me of birdie bob of brushes clough 😂
How do Craig. I'll tell Bob you said that.....I think we are going out for a few pints next week 😁. ATB mate and Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
Brilliant that Chris! You're very lucky to be able to do that from your front door! Enjoyed the Joe o Ragstones story👍 All the best to you and your family for Christmas👍
How do Des, hope you are well mate. Yep, my local moors are handy really. I just wish this infernal rain would give it rest so I can enjoy them a bit more (I'm off this week and the weather is doing my head in)! I can't wait for spring! I hope you and Maria have a great Christmas and New Year. 🎄
@@ChrisJB Yes, the weather is depressing isn't it? Not even got much hiking in recently, let alone camping! Just taken delivery of a new(er) campervan, so hoping for some fine weather in the new year! 😁
Best videos on this tube thingy, dead informative, love it. Love the local Saddleworth history, definitely be going out to visit Jo the Ragstones grave soon. Thanks for putting this video out and for all the stuff you do..reet good stuff yours. Happy Christmas Chris
Many thanks Phil for your words of encouragement. I'm glad you are going to see Joe 🙂. Hope you are well mate and Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
Glad to see a new video. I live at 64 north latitude and I think you are about at 54? In October and November - also not great months for my energy levels given our rapidly diminishing daylight - I use a "sad" or "happy" light, as they're known where I live. It's for seasonal affective disorder "sad," with a lamp with 10,000 lumens brightness. I have my coffee and sit near the light for 30-45 minutes every morning and it works wonders. Less fatigue, more energy, less desire to overeat, eat sugar, engage in bad habits generally. Not sure if it would work for you, but when I do not use it, I notice it within a few days. When I resume, the energy returns quickly. By Christmastime, I'm so busy I don't really need it and then after solstice the return of the light replaces it. Sometimes I use it in January, then done for the year. Sure it raises the electric rates, but to me it's worth the better mood.
Hello Karen. I know I struggle in late autumn and early winter.....both my parents did too so I guess it's in the genes! I have considered using artificial lights to see if they make a difference and judging by your experiences I suspect they would. I shall see what is available over here. The Winter Solstice is almost upon us too, which also makes a positive difference to my mindset. Best wishes and Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
I know what you mean. Sometimes it feels like too much effort. I have been feeling the same lately Watching these videos gets me motivated again though. Great to see you out.
Glad the vids have helped David. I'm keen to get back out again but I'm just going to try and avoid days of miserable weather! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your family. 🎄
Good to have you back Chris, fully understand your Oct/Nov blues, depressing weather and lack of motivation. Back on the horse though and another little gem of a camp with interesting and amusing tales to tell. Thank you. Just as an aside, how are you getting on with the Altra's? I bought the Timp 4's after your use of them and found them comfortable (wide fit like you say) from the off, but obviously with the weather change they'll be kept to one side for Spring for now and a more exhaustive trial then..... I'm not a runner, just a day walker who doesn't get on with boots so much 😊
How do David and thanks. Yes, bloody awful the weather of late. I was hoping for an overnighter this week but the forecast looks rubbish. As for the Altra's, I love them! Another reason I don't like winter, the conditions underfoot makes me opt for big clumpy boots. I'd prefer to use the Altra's all year round (I don' get on with boots much either). Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. 🎄
Great to see you out and about again Chris! I totally agree with you on oct/nov being the worst 2 months, I've done nothing myself since september. I look forward to the shortest day more than the longest and without a doubt spring's my favourite season. Looked a beautiful but very cold morning, thanks for sharing, John.
Many thanks John. Yes, the 21st Dec is a big milestone for me. It might not be by much but that turning point with the days getting longer is something I welcome. Merry Christmas pal 🎄
Good to see you back mate, I did a very similar walk up to the Way Stone after seeing it on one of your other videos, very boggy on the way up there. All the best 👍
Brilliant Camp, weathers going to be a bit "Grey" this week warmish and damp (worst conditions) I prefer Crisp Cold Winters. Hopefully up near Waughs Well next week for my last camp of the year.
How do Vinnie and thank you. I was hoping to go out this Thursday but the forecast is looking abysmal...again! Not been up Waugh's Well for years. Used to go there with my dad when I was a lad (he was a Nordener 🙂). Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. 🎄
A brilliant video Chris. I've been looking forward to another of your vid's and this one, as per usual, didn't disappoint me. All the festive best to you & yours mate. 👍
Thanks Hengist. It was nice to get some sunshine for a change. I saw that you had a nice snowy camp at Margery Stones with Dave recently. Looked great that. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you are your family pal. 🎄
Very enjoyable that Chris, thanks as always. Love the tales that come with your various outings. I think the lack of motivation to get out hits us all at this time of the year, I haven’t been out for a good few months now but hope to get to the Lakes for New Years Eve... we’ll see! Have a great Christmas and all the very best for the New Year. Lee
Just found your channel Chris , great content, really enjoying your adventures, inspiring, all the best for New year , i have now subscribed to follow your 2024 adventures, regards Jay
Grand video Chris, great to see you out again. I fully understand what you are saying about losing motivation, I've been struggling myself lately and having to push myself to do the simplest of wombles. I'm counting down to 21st December as its my alternative advent countdown 😅. Big up to Bethany with the superb crocheted conk warmer 👌 😎 Maybe see you on the hills one day, until then all the best for the season to you and your family.
How do Bren and thank you. Yep, the 21st is a big date for me. It might not be a lot but just knowing he days are getting longer is very welcome! I deffo need summat for my hooter, it's a bloody nightmare. ATB for Christmas and the New Year to you and yours mate too. 🎄
Great to see you out again Chris, the weather has been so poor, I’ve also struggled to get out, planned a couple of times to do Wards Stone but weather put paid to plans! Going to try again in January. Last trip 5 weeks ago was Fair Brook Naze on Kinder, a very windy affair in the Notch but it stood up well to 30mph gusts! Happy Christmas!
Thank you Nick. I hope you get round to WS, I really like it. I'm fair sick of all this rain and greyness though. I shall be more selective re camp days from now on! Merry Christmas to you and your family🎄ATB, Chris
Top man and a very merry Christmas to you and your family 🎄🍺 I was just wondering how you were doing today Chris. ❤ One thing and another I too haven’t been out for ages and me and Helen have been very poorly with our first Covid. On the mend slowly now. Yes I would love to get out hopefully soon. Can’t complain though with 42 nights in the tent this year way more than ever before. Happy new year too Chris. 🥃
Thanks Dave. Your words are very kind 🙂. Sorry to hear about your Covid woes....you have done well avoiding it until now. I've had it twice. The first time I hardly felt it but the second time I felt really rough for a fortnight. Anyway, I hope you and Helen are feeling better. 42 nights is great going mate, you've had a good walking and camping year. Merry Christmas and a happy New year to you and your loved ones too. 🎄 Bye for now, Chris
Really good to see a new video Chris, and it's a corker! This is a dank time of year and you're not alone in finding it tough. I'm so grateful that you found time to create and share this and as usual it's full on unique "Jepson-Brown" pearls of wisdom! Take care.
Thanks Phil mate. It did me good this, one decent trip and I'm keen to get out again, though will be keeping my eye on the weather! Merry Christmas to you and your family🎄ATB, Chris
Totally agree with you on the motivation especially with the horrible weather we've had I did a snow camp cpl weeks ago 1st camp in nearly a month.btw my mum needs a new cosy for her teapot can I have your hat lol😂
Mate, I’ve been through a similar drought of camps. The weather has been dire, wet and windy. Last camp I did was Langdale a couple of months ago. I’ve done a few lower level trips. I’m gonna go for it after Xmas whatever happens. Good to see you back, I was just going to say, come back Chris all is forgiven😂. Nice hat pal, it’ll keep the woodpeckers off😂atb
How do UP. I noted that you'd been over Farleton Fell. I love it up there and like you have made a mental note for a potential camp. Hope you are well pal. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
@@ChrisJB yeah great view of lakes, dales and Howgills. There are loads of spots up Farleton whichever direction the wind is. If you find a pair of glasses hold on to ‘em🤣I think I’ve solved the losing them with a tether. Atb Happy Xmas to you and yours.
*_Hello Mr. Chris... do you mean by wild camp, savanna, a place for grazing livestock? I see very beautiful camping at this location, wide savanna, small river and very clean water, there are lots of heavy equipment and what are they?... . greetings from Indonesia_* 👣⛰🏕👍
good to have you back mate, great story about joseph, you looked like an alcy with the wine in your breast pocket........seriously though great video mate..... seasons greetings to you n yours...... have a belter.
How do Ken and thanks. Hope you are well mate. I did sup the wine in the tent but it was filled with water on the walk afterwards......honest! 😁. I hope you and your family have a great Christmas and a happy New Year. 🎄
@@hangoutwithdeggers Prior to the Hero 10 I used a Hero 7 which was very glitchy (would freeze and I'd have to take the batteries out which could be annoying). The Hero 10 is less glitchy but does freeze occasionally. I've never had an issue with overheating.

Good to see you back walking again Chris. Great story about Joseph Radcliffe...really loved the way you told the story in fragments which kept me in suspense till the end! ATB Steve
Cheers Steve mate. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your family. 🎄 ATB, Chris
Probably under a Ford Fiesta😂
What a country!
Hello there,
A wild camp, history lesson learning about someone who sounds quite interesting and an insight into your tenacity in not letting some twerp get the best of you.
Great stuff.
Regarding not getting out camping, totally relatable. Somedays the hardest challenge is getting out the door, but we're reminded of why we do it once we're out.
Take care
All the best
Dave & Buddy* 👍
(*the doggo)
Many thanks for subscribing Andy. It's not always great living in Rochdale but the proximity to the moors is a definite plus. 🙂
Loved the Joseph Radcliffe story....you deserve a pat on the back for that mate...i really enjoyed this one, everything felt good.
Cheers Steve. Aye, good conditions to be out. Let's hope we get a few more like this rather than bloody rain! Merry Christmas pal.
Great video Chris👍nice to see you back out and in nice weather too.
Look forward to next one!
Thanks Steve. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄. Bye for now, Chris
Anyway Paul, I hope you are well and Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
Good to see you out Chris. 👍
Thank you A and M and a Merry Christmas 🎄
Really enjoy that, thank you🍻
May thanks. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄. ATB, Chris
By heck wot a belter of a vlog, tell ur Beth to get busy, crocheting ur merchandise, cracking that our kid, wots nxt, more history, hope so!!
Cheers Steve. Alas our Bethany is too bone idle to make me any 'merch' (though she'd like the brass 👌). She had been promising to make me a hat for months, I had to really nag her! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
Great to see you back out, always look forward to your videos, always very informative.
Thanks Kevin👍. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄. ATB, Chris
@@ChrisJB Thanks Chris. Have sent an email to you about Joe Ragstones
Peace.
Great too see you back out m8. Love your videos both nature and humour. Brilliant😊
Thanks Brian👍. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄. ATB, Chris
Good to see you back Chris. I’m reading the Saddleworth Historical Socs article now…very interesting and congratulations on your perseverance. Thanks again for another wonderfully informative post.
Merry Christmas Chris to you and your family. Ron
Many thanks Ron. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your family too. 🎄
And a merry Christmas to you Chris, really enjoyed that, lots of interesting information and a wild camp as well.
Many thanks mate. I enjoyed watching your snowy trip out with AB. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. 🙂
🎅🎄 Hi Chris, tolles Video vielen lieben Dank dafür ⛄👍🔔 Abofreund Siggi
I'm glad you liked it. Merry Christmas to you both 🎄
Really glad to see you back Chris, starting to get a bid worried, I think sometimes with the RUclips mularky that it can start feeling like going out is an obligation when everyone is entitled to a break, anyhow great video, absolutely made up you got the grave raised, how anybody could object to such a request is beyond me, well done for sticking with it.

Lovely video Chris. Thanks for sharing
Many thanks pal. ATB for Christmas and the New Year 👍
What a superb write up about joe, for people who don't know the history of Joe it is well worth looking at some of Ammon Wrigleys stories.

Many thanks Nicholas. I do like Waystone Edge. I've been up many times and have yet to encounter another soul. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
Great video as always Chris and what an awesome outcome to a very interesting story and well done for being persistent and raising Old Joe from the grave so to speak :) PS If you can find the grave of Cirrol Smith let me know so i know where to have a piss next time i am over that way :))))
Thanks mate. Hmm, not sure what happened to CS after he snuffed it.....cremated I think. Hope you are well and Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
Same to you too :) I think the likes of CS and others like him would have the graves desecrated by the victims and people in general.
David

@@ChrisJB Merry Christmas to you pal
ATB, Chris

Best wishes and Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎄
Great video mate , just moved to Royton and really enjoying your videos of the local area 👍

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I am looking forward to a year of new adventures. Perhaps some new kit too😃
Good to have you back Chris, fully understand your Oct/Nov blues, depressing weather and lack of motivation.

@@ChrisJB thx for the reply , I’ve been looking at the go pro 12 , but people say go pro cameras freeze , and can overheat , what’s your experience?
@@hangoutwithdeggers Prior to the Hero 10 I used a Hero 7 which was very glitchy (would freeze and I'd have to take the batteries out which could be annoying). The Hero 10 is less glitchy but does freeze occasionally. I've never had an issue with overheating.
