- The Tunisian crochet Saloniki stitch is a beautiful ribbed stitch, which is very soft, kind of stretchy, and doesn't almost curl.
The basic stitches required for the Saloniki stitch are the Tunisian Simple Stitch and the Tunisian Full Stitch.
Watch out for the return pass because that is not a standard Tunisian return pass.
The step-by-step photo tutorial for this stitch is available on my blog here

Such a pretty pattern that looks so complicated, but you make it seem like even I can do it! Love this. Thank you!
I also knit and the way you did this makes it even more beautiful and the stitches are evenly distributed. Thank you for the tutorial 😊
Wow! Thank you! I'm going to use this lovely stitch for a cardigan that will be a gift.
Браво!!!Много добра лекция!!! Професионално,бавно. с внимателно броене на бримките се показва точно спецификата на плетката! Който се занимава е плетиво спокойно може да си обогати колекцията от модели , цвят на преждата и знанията съответно!!!

This is lovely. Regular-plain Tunisian stitches do not appeal to me, but this looks wonderful! Thank you for a great tutorial. The wooden hook is easy to see with the pink Aran yarn. This is a keeper for me!

Geweldige steek maar hoe moet je minderen?
This is awesome! Love the color, too. What is the name and type of yarn - acrylic or cotton or wool? Thanks.
Hi, this is Paintbox Yarns Wool Mix Aran and it's 50% wool and 50% acrylic :) This is my affiliate link if you're interested in purchasing the yarn www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/paintbox-yarns-wool-mix-aran?a_aid=52989eff
Is there a certain count that you have to go by, for this? If i wanted to make a potholder, would i do sets of 12 or?
Hi, you can start with any even number of sts :)
I luv this tutorial! Can't wait to try it. Could I use it for the first and last rows of a dishcloth to reduce the curl?
And if so, how many rows of it should I use?
Hi, maybe for the beginning and end of a dishcloth, I'd go for something like the Tunisian reverse stitch, but that doesn't have a ribbed look though... Anyhow, of either stitch, about 5 rows should be enough to reduce the curling :)
@@RaffamusaDesigns Thank-you :-) !
Hi, thanks for sharing this lovely stitch. Nice video! 💜
Did you invent this stitch? 😊
Hi Iris, thank you so much! I did not invent it. This is actually a very popular stitch among Turkish Tunisian crocheters :)
@@RaffamusaDesigns wauw! I really love it. Thank you for the info, now to think what I’ll make with 😉😃💜🙏🏻
I love Tunisian Crochet and you make the variation look really easy! I’ve only ever managed the standard stitches but I think it’s time I made the effort! Love the Lacy Trellis stitch most! Thanks for the demo! ❤

I missed it - what size is the hook?
Hi, it's a 8 mm hook :)
I just rewatched the video and you say 9mm. Which is it?
@@natford8271 I just made my first square using this stitch and it turned out beautifully. I used Stylecraft Special Chunky yarn and tried 3 different hook sizes - 6mm is suggested but I found the 8mm hook to be the best (it's not very chunky yarn, only slightly heavier than aran weight) so I'd guess you could use whatever hook size you like, depending on your yarn weight and the drape and gauge you're after! :)
@@natford8271 What do you mean, you *missed* it?? It’s a RUclips video. You can slide the scrubber bar to any point in the video 😂
I could not see exactly where you put the hook in for the two stitches in between the simple stitch. Please insert hook slower so we can see. Thank you.
Hi, I'm sorry, I'll definitely try to go slower next time.
After the Tss, you basically make 2 Tunisian full stitches.
