Hello,
Please subscribe and hit the notification bell, if you haven't yet. Grateful for your support.
The RIB stitch is a fairly easy to learn stitch, try it even if you just beginning your Tunisian crochet journey.
Stitch difficulty : Easy
Stitch Multiple (Number of beginning chains): Odd number
Stitch Repeat : Repeat row 1 to form the fabric.
Can be used for: Blankets, mats, cushion covers, garment sleeve cuffs. Anything that could use a dense fabric.
How to Bind off : Insert for TSS and slip stitch, next insert of TFS in next spaces (as was done to make the pattern) then slip the last loop pulled up by TFS through the 2 loops on the hook. Repeat till the end and close the edge stitch with slip stitch inserting behind the 2 bars as usual.

Material used in this video:
Yarn: Solid coloured yarn - Oswal Winter king - www.pradhanemb...
Hook: Tunisian hook - www.pradhanemb......
You can choose any yarn and a suitable hook.
Some important points:
1) Try to use thick pale yarns as a beginner, for practice.
2) Pale/light & solid coloured yarns are better for stitch visibility when practicing.
3) Use light colour yarns for good visibility.
4) Always use 1.5 to 2 mm larger hook size than used for regular crochet for the same yarn.
5) Use Tunisian crochet hooks.

Heyy thank you so much for this, this helped me so much
Thank you for sharing :)
Does it get the same stretchiness as a crochet rub stitch or is it just the looks?
Hi, it's not very stretchy.. especially width wise stretch is limited.
Pattern at 2:45
Is there a special way to bind off this ribbed stitch?
Thank you so much for asking this :) i missed out sharing the bind off! Okay, so here it is - Insert for TSS and slip stitch, next insert of TFS in next spaces (as was done to make the pattern) then slip the last loop pulled up by TFS through the 2 loops on the hook. Repeat till the end and close the edge stitch with slip stitch inserting behind the 2 bars as usual.
Can you tell how to deceased or increased this ?
Hey, Please try this.....To decrease - skip the TSS and directly make the TFS. To increase - do a YO before TSS. Hope this help or guides towards experimenting with the stitch :)
Is there a transcript?
Hi, there are written instructions on the video...will that help?
